Kitchen countertop were dirty Towels were very old and discolored No firewood available for the advertised fire pit (disappointing). The linens on the beds had been washed but still had pet hair on them The lights in the basement were not able to be used due to a leak so the game room could not be utilized until the second night Owner was extremely slow in responding to issues and did not communicate well.

Dear Kelly,
First and foremost, we truly appreciate your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your recent experience—it’s never our intention to cause frustration or inconvenience.
We understand your concern about the timing of our responses. Our records indicate that prior to your arrival and on the day of, we communicated clearly that check-in time is 4pm. While you arrived earlier than the designated check-in time, we did our best to accommodate once you were on site despite our clear communication that the house will only be ready at 4pm. Additionally, firewood is not advertised as being provided in the listing description. We recommend confirming amenities in advance to avoid misunderstandings.
We take pride in ensuring the home is guest-ready for every stay. Unfortunately, some issues—such as the unexpected leak affecting the basement lighting—are outside of our control. This safety-related issue was communicated in advance, the lights were kept off as a precaution, and the matter was resolved as soon as it was safe to do so.
Cleanliness is important to us, and we will certainly review your feedback with our housekeeping team.
Your feedback is appreciated and will be used to improve the guest experience going forward.
Sincerely,
The Team at the Chalet at Rhododendron Ridge
We loved the beautiful home, the peaceful surroundings of nature and the breathtaking views. Kevin was amazing to work with and quickly responded to any questions of concerns. The listing is accurate and we enjoyed it all-hot tub, fire pit, grill, bar area, gourmet kitchen, and especially the bidets! We had no complaints whatsoever. It was the perfect Christmas retreat!
This was the perfect place for our whole family and close to grandparents who live local. We felt like we had a private resort to ourselves. We enjoyed the hot tub and making s’mores around a fire pit each night. During the day we hiked waterfalls in both DuPont and Pisgah parks, both within 30 minutes. It was the best stocked vacation home we have stayed in. Communication with the owner was great. We highly recommend this home. Just have a car that can make it up a steep driveway.
A handrail needs to be installed on the steps leading to the front door. Of the six guests, 4 were over 70 but the youngest stepped off and sprained an ankle.
Otherwise a very lovely home.

There is an alternate entrance on the side of the house for any guests that require a handrail. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay.
Our group of six had an absolute blast at this vacation home. If you're looking for a modern, luxurious spot for a group getaway, look no further.
The mountain views were absolutely stunning from the huge deck, the living room, hot tub, bedrooms and really just all around. The spacious interiors comfortably accommodated all of us and provided the ideal setting for our group to unwind and have a great time. The house had everything we needed – board games, comfy lounging spaces, and a fully equipped kitchen for group meals. In the evenings, we enjoyed sitting around the firepit in the backyard. The beds were SUPER comfortable. The house had great location too. It is close to Hendersonville and a short drive to Asheville. Also close to many vineyards (we visited Burntshirt, which is an award-winning local winery). We hiked around Jumpoff Rock which is only 5 minutes away, which had gorgeous views and wasn't crowded at all.
Kevin was so helpful and responsive to our messages and clearly has a passion for hosting. We can't wait to return with an even larger crew for another epic stay!
An amazing house, beautifully decorated comfortable beds, comfortable porch, furniture, and living room furniture. One little suggestion the driveway as listed was very steep and gravel. Our car had a hard time getting up the driveway. Another suggestion would be to have a book that has everything that comes in the email as far as checking in trash, check out, etc., and instructions for all of the different remotes. I had a little trouble with my phone and had trouble pulling up the email that had the instructions as far as Wi-Fi and checking in and out in it, which caused a little bit of stress. So if there was a book that had all of this listed in it, that would be helpful. Also, for people who are not used to all these different remotes and what they go to it would be nice to have some type of information about which remote works which electronic device. Also no fault of the owner, their was some dirty dishes that were in the cabinet that we had to wash prior to use in and also when we got there, the kitchen table had some type of either crumbs or dirt on top of the table and some on the floor that we had to clean. May have just been an oversight from the cleaner. Overall, a magnificent place and we would definitely stay there again!
