Why H. Bonn chose Head of Chezzetcook
Super-clean, regularly updated, well maintained, both modern and historic. Cozy seaside with tidal breezes, south facing, built 150 ft from waters edge, which was only possible 100 years ago. Super-Lux King bed. We are caring owners who want all to enjoy! We have been using the cottage for our family from New England, and also letting it out occasionally, our purpose is only to offset some annual expense of upkeep, and every year we re-invest in the property upkeep. We stand clearly apart from the explosion of throw-together short-term rentals, where the owner now lives in the garage or the basement...this is traditional private and proper vacation property with actual water frontage. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

The house was immaculate and served well for our family - 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Proximity to grocery and other conveniences were within a few miles. We took daily excursions some close, some far but every one was worth the trip. Beautiful weather -a really relaxing trip that offered something for everyone.
This property is exactly as depicted in the photos, but still exceeded our expectations. Everything we could have needed was there for our use, and the house is immaculate and very comfortable. We used this as "base camp" for all of our outdoor excursions, and even though we had to do a lot of driving, this is still a great, central location for anything within 2-3 hours, and closeby to Halifax and Dartmouth. We went tidal bore rafting, hiking, to the Shubenacadie wildlife park, Ontree adventure park, nearby beaches and Peggy's Cove. So much to do! Would highly recommend staying in this house. Mosquitoes are very aggressive, but we did enjoy watching the birds from the huge window in the back room. Both puzzles have pieces missing, but we still did them at night for some down time. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
A little piece of paradise
This house was fantastic. Very well renovated and maintained, the beds, sheets and towels felt like you were staying in a hotel or bed and breakfast. Loved the king size bed and master bedroom. Very well organized, environmentally friendly with the sorting of recyclables. Would definitely stay here again.
Quiet Getaway To Recharge Batteries
My husband and I were looking for a quiet getaway and we found it here. The house was comfortable with everything we needed and the grocery store just a couple minutes down the road. One night we ordered from Toulany's right down the road. We had fish and chips which were delicious and an inexpensive meal.
Regarding the pictures on the website they are accurate. We stayed in the master bedroom which has the king size bed. It was firm, but so comfortable. There were table fans which were adequate for all but the last night when the temperature and humidity rose. We didn't find it necessary to make the request to have an a/c put in and there was a portable unit upstairs, but since it was our last night we managed to sleep without it.
In the late evening I was able to capture pictures of the Milky Way once the skies cleared after 3 days of rain. This was a surprise considering there was some street lights in the area. The best part was being able see the Milky Way with the naked eye.
The location was close enough to make day trips, but far enough away to be in the country. We were able to take a day trip to Peggy's Cove (about 1hr 15 minutes away) and Lunenburg (approximately 1 hour from Peggy's Cove) and Halifax(about 30 minutes). We were able to visit the Citadel in Halifax on Canada Day and saw their demonstrations. Dartmouth is about 20 minutes away with so many restaurant offerings.
The owners were easy to communicate with and available should we need anything. They make staying at the house easy and enjoyable. This was a perfect getaway!
The house is well stocked with thing travels can not take on the plane. The view is pretty filled with geese that visit in the afternoon. It far enough from the city but yet close enough..
