Enjoy the marsh view at breakfast, walk to the best beach in less than 5 minutes, ride your bike to the village for lunch or shopping, and enjoy cocktails on the large, private patio in the afternoon. If reading is the way you like to relax, we have a wall of books in the living room.
OceanWood is composed of 6 tabby cottages, each with 2 units, nestled among large live oak trees. Our townhouse unit includes a fully equipped kitchen with separate pantry and laundry room.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with ceiling fans, a full bath and a built-in desk tucked into the dormer.
Outside the laundry room door is a hot/cold shower for easy clean up after time spent on the beach. There is no need for you to bring beach chairs since we have some available for your use.

Our unit is located one mile from the village and one mile from the nearest grocery store.
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: We first visited St Stimons Island in 1971. There were three hotel/motels and lots of small beach cottages available for visitors. The beach was wide and uncrowded. The Coast Guard station was occupied by 'coasties' and there were no condos in sight. Our children enjoyed the safe surf and an occasional restaurant meal 'out'. As our children got older, they wanted a little more excitement so we visited other beaches in neighboring states. We returned to St Simons in 1996, and boy had things changed - Many more restaurants and condos up and down the beach. We visited the island during every season to see how the weather was and what it would be like during 'off' seasons. We liked what we saw and finally found our little condo during a spring break visit in 1999. We saw many different properties but this place felt more like home - not a rental property. I spent the summers here and my husband came down when he could. We finally decided to leave the Atlanta area and move to the island full time. We lived in our little place for 8 months before we found a house that felt right. We still loved our little place though, and decided to keep it as our 'guest house'. We made it available to others in 2008. We hope you will consider it 'home' while you are on our island.
Why the Owner Chose Saint Simons Island, GA, USA:
St Simons is a resort area but it is also a 'real' place with a large number of full time residents. This condo felt like 'home' as soon as we walked in the door. The tree filled property and a small 'front yard' were a bonus.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our proximity to the 'best beach' makes our unit ideal for morning walks or jogging on beach, through neighborhoods or to the village. The hard packed sand is ideal for bike rides and bocce ball. A favorite time is late afternoon for 'cocktails on the beach'.
