North Wind-walk to the beach & more!

Family-oriented vacation rental, laid back and enjoyable! Start every day with a steaming cup of coffee while sitting in the sunroom, end your day at the beach with beautiful sunsets.
Take an 8 to 10 minute walk to the beach, 4 blocks to the Zoo, 5-minute drive to The Lighthouse Outlet mall & much more.
Our cozy living room, dining area, and a convenient kitchen will provide you with all the amenities that you need to make your stay comfortable. A smart TV provided. You will have access to the second floor of the home and a large shared yard which accommodates many outdoor activities. A gas grill and an outdoor picnic table are available, as well as a wagon for the beach is also provided.
For those not interested in cooking much a fantastic breakfast/lunch cafe is 1 block away and a tasty Jamaican restaurant is 2 blocks away.

Please note:

-Must be 25+ years old to book.
-Extra guests are not allowed. If you have more
guests and would like to rent both units, search for
the lower unit called "South Wind" This will allow you to rent both the upper
and lower units of the duplex at the same time,
sleeping up to 13 guests total.
-No parties, events, or inappropriate behavior
allowed in this QUIET family-oriented neighborhood.
-If you are bringing infants/babies, the unit is NOT
baby-proofed. You assume responsibilities for all guests.
-The lower unit may be rented out at the same time, (their ceiling is your floor) so there is potential for noise from other guests.
-Outdoor surveillance devices installed

This is our third stay at this property. We like it for its convenience to the beach, the beach amenities included, the ability to sleep three teenage girls in the same room and have separate rooms for moms, and the overall layout and cleanliness. The host is very gracious and accommodating, too.

Wonderful Michigan City Beach location

Cute, cozy, every thing you need for a perfect beach stay. It was a mother daughter friends trip and we had a blast! Perfect amount of rooms, beds, places to hang in the house, and beach accessories. Stay here!!

Nice little apartment

Overall this place was nice and as advertised. Host was very responsive with any issue we brought up. The walk to the beach was amazing and nice! The floors could use some work and I wish the bedrooms had TVs (kids), but other than that I have no complaints. Good experience overall.

Nice place to stay

Everything was as described in the listing. This is an upstairs unit with lots of cozy space. Had enough room for everyone to stretch out and have some solitude. Fast response from the one time we needed assistance. 10 minutes walk to the beach was accurate. The provided beach stuff helped us out.

Great beach stay!

This was a lovely upstairs unit in a great location--perfect for a quick trip to the Indiana dunes beach! We stayed with our three young children and loved the beach themed-decor, the great location, and the supply of games and beach toys they provided to use while we were there! There was a great yard and several deer that came to hang out in the evenings which were fun to watch.

Great Moms/Teens Getaway

Returned to North Wind for another Moms/Daughters weekend getaway. We love the easy location to the beach and the layout of the rental - the outdoor shower for removing sand and the wagon to haul things to the beach are also a plus! Great communication with owners and cute upper level rental. We'll be back!

Great Place

This listing is so great. Close to so many things, Blue Chip Casino, The Beach, Zoo, Shopping, Restaurants, Bars ECT. They had everything for you for a great beach day which was so helpful. They had outdoor games and other ways to entertain. Can't say enough about this place. If you stay here be sure to walk down to the little Cafe/Restaurant.

We came for a wedding. Just minutes to the beach. Apartment was clean and nicely decorated. Equipped with Everything we needed. One TV in living room only. Pleased with stay.

Nice stay

We had a nice stay in this house. I didn’t realize it was on the second story of a building but that was fine for us. Couch wasn’t comfortable and the floor was uneven and very loud in spots. But the beds were comfortable! Loved that the garage was filled with beach supplies ! The location is nice too, there was a great breakfast spot 1 block away.

Clean, good location

The property was fine and clean, but I would not stay there again because the mattresses were VERY uncomfortable. The mattresses in all the bedrooms were very stiff, even my 9 year old commented on it. There were also a few items that felt like they were missing: no hairdryer in the bathroom was the biggest one, but there could be hooks put on the wall in the bathroom to accommodate more towels if you have more than 2.people staying there, and a pair of scissors added to the kitchen utility drawer.

Extremely clean, quick walk to the beach

We enjoyed staying here with friends. The property was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We walked to the beach with the babies, it was less than 10 minutes. There are two restaurants within walking distance, as well as the park, beach and zoo, but plan on driving to everything else. The downside for us was the fact that the tv, couch and dining table were all in the same room, it was a bit of a strange set up. We mostly hung out in the sun room which was awesome, but could’ve used comfier furniture. Just a minor issue for us, nothing that affected our enjoyment at all. All in all we would stay here again if we ever come back to Michigan City.

Michigan City mini-reunion

It was nice and clean, with enough room for the five of us. Only one bathroom, but that never seemed to be too much of an issue. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away and very nice. It's an upstairs unit and I could see the stairs being an issue for someone with mobility issues. It's super close to a delicious Jamaican restaurant, and a very short drive to restaurants and amenities in Michigan City.

Fun getaway

Enjoyed a fun girls weekend with friends. The apartment was super clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of sleeping space. Only two issues concerned us. One was that we were only allowed street parking even though there is a 3 car garage with a large driveway and the street is narrow. The other minor issue was finding the key when we got there. The directions didn’t specify the back side of the garage. Otherwise all was great. I would book again if going to the area. Close to the beach and the outlet mall. We also found a couple fun restaurants. You can walk to the beach but it’s a little far. We drove since one friend is in a boot after ankle surgery.

Highly recommend!

Such a great place to stay in Michigan City! The amenities were perfect! I was thankful for the extra fans and blankets. The kids enjoyed all the games in the sunroom. It was awesome that they provided coolers, Adirondack chairs, sand toys, beach umbrella, wagons, bags, a little pool table and a football table. The beach was a half mile away. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
