About this property

The Eagles Nest at Avenwood Cabins

This secluded log cabin features a Colonial American theme with white-washed log walls and soothing blue trim. This cabin offers a full kitchen and eating area so you can make that special meal, if you so choose. The living area has a plush loveseat couch and Roku Smart TV where you can relax and catch up on your next Netflix binge. Featured in the bedroom is a gas fireplace and jacuzzi, which adds to the romantic ambiance you are looking for in your getaway. In the bedroom, you will find a memory foam queen sized bed facing a rustic gas fireplace. In the corner, we have a jacuzzi tub for those times when you just want to relax inside. If you would rather surround yourself with the lush natural beauty of WNF, step out onto the screened-in porch and relax in our luxury, state-of-the art Viking/Balboa hot tub while listening to the songs of the forest.

Avenwood cabins provide getaways in the beautiful Wayne National Forest. Our woodland escape ensures relaxation while providing modern amenities. We also know how much you miss that sweet fur-babies at home, so we have provided a pet-friendly environment to accommodate your furry friend.

Our cabins are in the heart of Wayne National Forest. ATVs and horseback riding or just a few of the offerings that they offer. Hocking Hills attractions are just a short 10-15 minute drive (Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, etc.) along with ziplining, canoeing, hiking, and all the other adventures you are looking for! Looking for something a little bit more low-key? Take a jaunt out to Hocking Hills Winery and Brewery33 to taste some of our locally made adult beverages. For your convenience, downtown Logan is another great stop where you can grab a fresh-out-of-the-oven donut and check out some local shops.

Rustic Seclusion
We loved our stay in this little log cabin, it has a rustic feeling with modern amenities. Perfect for two people & has a great view of the woods. We liked how quiet it was & that there wasn’t even road noise.

Beautiful and private; nice amenities, but updates needed.
The cabin was quaint and very private, but needs some updates. We enjoyed our stay but found that some simple things would have made it better. The stove in this unit seems to only work on high, which is difficult for cooking a meal and the shower door would not close. I would definitely stay again, but just book one of the other updated cabins in the future.

Eagles nest cabin
Loved the seclusion but was disappointed that fireplace wouldnt work. Check in was confusion. Called a phone number and received texts with a number which opened keypad. We never seen anyone. Even texted we were checking out and no reply. Thought this process was strange. I would go back again. .

Eagle’s Nest Cabin
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Only a couple minor things to note - we found communication lacked with management prior to check in. Luckily, did not turn out to be an issue. Secondly, the water from the shower leaks all over the bathroom floor if the shower is on for more than 5-10 minutes. Other than that, we really enjoyed this cabin.

Overall Good Stay!
This cabin is situated in a little neighborhood of cabins owned by the same company and they all are unique in their own way! The cabin was a nice size for me and my boyfriend, and the hot tub was amazing. These cabins are not far from Hocking Hills State Park, and gave us a great little get away.

Michael Aquino purchased Colonel's Quarters in 2014, making the getaway cabin company a veteran- and family-owned business. It is our goal to bring you closer to the ones you love by providing you with an intimate and loving environment so you can make memories that last a lifetime. Colonel's Quarters is dedicated to serving the needs of its guests each and every day with the hope of providing exceptional customer service. We appreciate each guest and welcome them to Colonel's Quarters as part of the family.

Why they chose this property

Colonel's Quarters is a privately owned, family-run business. Through the seven years of running the cabins, we have developed relationships with many of our guests, and have had the great privilege of sharing in their special moments. We appreciate all those who choose to make those memories with us!

What makes this property unique

As a military family, we wanted to pay homage to the greatness of America. In this cabin, we brought a patriotic theme along with some cool memorabilia to immerse our guests in the theme.
