A journey back in time...<br>South facing, very quiet and sunny, with magnificent views of the beautiful 19th century Norman houses and the green hills of Houlgate.<br>WIFI and ELEVATOR<br><br>Other Sea View apartment in the same residence available on request (35 m2)<br><br>Former grand hotel, listed as a historical monument:<br>Tall, impassive, he watches over the beach of Houlgate. Listed as a Historic Monument in 2000, the former Grand Hôtel de Houlgate, now a residential building, keeps within its walls precious memories including the passage of some crowned heads<br><br>Proudly standing upstream from the beach, the former Grand Hôtel de Houlgate is a large structure that stretches along the rue Baumier, parallel to the Promenade Roland Garros. <br><br>Recognized as one of the most remarkable buildings of the seaside heritage of the Côte Fleurie, it is visible from the top of the orientation table and even from the dunes of Cap Cabourg. It is easily recognizable by its façade, its many windows and its magnificent rotunda topped by a dome that continues, every day, to tickle the sky at the first light of day.<br><br>The foundations of the former Grand Hotel were laid in 1859. At the time, the central building housed 120 rooms, 1 restaurant and a lounge. In 1896, the hotel was raised by two floors and had two pavilions. Inside, a ballroom, reading room and conversation room were added to the lounge and restaurant already present. The number of rooms increased to 350 with almost as many employees. It took nearly 40 years (1896) before being able to discern the shapes of a building similar to the one we know today. The remarkable character of its façade and roofs earned it its registration as a Historic Monument in 2000, along with the Grand Hotel and the Casino of Cabourg.<br><br>Now transformed into an apartment building, the former Grand Hôtel de Houlgate offers its residents a place of choice with close access to the beach, the miniature golf course and the town's casino.<br><br>What do Edward VII, Prince of Wales, Princess de Broglie, Princess Orloff and the King and Queen of Naples have in common? All of them stayed in the former Grand Hôtel de Houlgate. But the crowned heads were not the only ones. Marcel Proust also stayed there during his childhood in 1884.

Leuk appartement. Excellent vind ik een beetje overdreven. Het zat leuk in elkaar. Of de Ikea spullen het lang gaan uithouden vraag ik mij af. prima communicatie met verhuurder, die uiterst snel en adequaat reageert. Het zou goed zijn te vermelden dat er één slaapkamer is en de woonkamer een slaapbank heeft (in plaats van twee slaapkamers). Uitzicht is op de prachtige villa's aan de achterzijde. De advertentie laat een foto op zee zien, maar dat is vanuit het appartement niet zo.

Appartement agréable dans un cadre original (Grand Hôtel, construction classée), idéalement situé (mer, restaurants, commerces ...).Propriétaire et conciergerie (sur place) très réactifs en cas de petit souci.Appartement très bien équipé.Charmante surprise de bienvenue.

Bonsoir Monsieur, merci pour vos commentaires. Comme précisé dans l'annonce, il s'agit de 3 anciennes chambres du Grand Hôtel d'Houlgate, qui ont été regroupées pour former un 2-3 pièces. L'architecte a souhaité offrir la possibilité de cloisonner ou décloisonner les pièces en fonction de l heure de la journée. Un autre locataire m'a annoncé que certaines cloisons s'étaient bloquées, ce qui a été réparé depuis, d ou peut être cette impression. En revanche , il est bien indiqué qu'il y a une chambre parentale, et que le second couchage est un canapé lit, dans la pièce à vivre. Une grande cuisine, avec coin repas , sépare les deux espaces de nuit. Pour ce qui concenrne le bruit, vous auriez du nous l indiquer nous serions intervenus pour demander le cas échéant aux voisins de respecter le réglement intérieur de la résidence. Comme toute résidence du 19e siecle , il ne faut pas hésiter à demander aux voisins d être attentifs, quand cela arrive. Comme vous le lirez dans les commentaires d'anciens résidents, la résidence est très calme, et de nombreuses familles ont très apprécié leur séjour. Vous serez bien sur à nouveau les bienvenus. cordialement

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön, gut durchdacht und gut ausgestattet. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und sehr gut erreichbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist nicht zu übertreffen.

Très bon pied-à-terre !

Tout est à disposition pour passer de très bons moments en famille (ou avec des amis). L'agencement est bien pensé, la superficie est suffisante pour 4 personnes. L'équipement mis a disposition est fonctionnel (il y a également tout pour un enfant de 3 ans). Proche de tout, c'est très agréable.

Un appartement de conception originale et pratique, lumineux et ensoleillé.

Un enchantement ces vacances grâce à notre hébergement bien conçu et doté d'un équipement sans faille et surtout situé dans ce superbe Grand Hôtel de Jacques Baumier. Son hall d'accueil avec son tourniquet et sa vue mer, son revêtement de sol en carreaux de ciment et les couleurs tendres des boiseries nous ont immédiatement conquis. Mme Hébert est attentive au moindre détail, les literies sont excellentes et les draps sentaient bons. Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse.

séjour avec petits enfants

Appartement spacieux et lumineux , avec une belle vue sur la colline houlgataise et ses belles maisons. Donnant sur le jardin intérieur donc très calme. Très bien agencé et très bien équipé, dans un très bel ancien hotel. A 2 pas de la mer, ce qui est très pratique avec un enfant car on peut faire de courts moments sur la plage puis rentrer puis y retourner ... A 2 pas aussi des commerces, et des commerces variés et de qualité (Chaudemanche fait aussi d'excellentes glaces !). Très bon contact, accueillant et souple, avec Mme Hébert et Mr Tougard, à qui je dis d'ailleurs à bientôt !

Fijn rustig appartement vlak bij strand Houlgate

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in Houlgate. Leuk plaatsje met prachtige boulevard en strand. Het appartement was modern ingericht (Ikea) en had alles wat we nodig hadden.

excellent séjour avec la plage sur place

L'appartement est bien agencé et lumineux. L'équipement est complet, tout est aménagé avec goût, le lit est très confortable. L’emplacement dans l'ancien grand hôtel d'Houlgate est parfait, avec la plage et les commerces sur place. Comme c'est un vieux bâtiment, les pièces sont assez sonores, on entend très bien la fête des voisins. Ce n'était pas grave au mois de mars car la plupart des appartements était inoccupée. On a passé un super séjour avec beaucoup de soleil.

Très beau sejour

Très beau séjour dans cet appartement calme et très fonctionnel, dans un environnement magnifique, avec toutes les informations disponibles lors de la réservation et une communication facile avec le propriétaire et Mme Hebert. Et que dire des gaufres de chez Chaudemanche...à chacun ses madeleines

Acceuil très sympa et très aimable ! Nous remercions madame Hébert! L'appartement est super bien agence ,lumineux et très confortable et nous avons manque de rien! Tout était parfait! Sans oublier que nous avons sublime la vue. Idéalement situé! Seulement à 2 pas de la mer! C'est sur , nous reviendrons !

Wunderbarer Urlaub.

Die Wohnung war freundlich und sehr umfangreich eingerichtet. Der Ausblick auf die Hügel und die Bäderarchitektur war traumhaft schön. Unsere Kinder mochten die kleine Bücherecke. Die Lage gleich am Strand in der Nähe der Fußgängerzone war zentral und trotzdem ruhig. Ein Parkplatz gehörte nicht zur Unterkunft, wir sind aber doch immer in der Nähe fündig geworden.

Ein großartiger Ort...

Die Umgebung und Lage ist ganz wunderbar, aber wir waren v.a. von dem durchdachten Entwurf des Appartments überzeugt — die 50 m2 können optimal von einer Familie genutzt werden. Mit der Nähe zum Strand ist dieser Ort ganz wunderbar.

Séjour très agréable !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cet appartement spacieux et lumineux, en tous points conforme à nos attentes. Le cadre et la situation sont idéaux , ainsi que les aménagements et équipements divers. Seule micro-remarque : la mention « parking » dans l’annonce laisse à penser qu’une place attitrée est à disposition, or il s’agit de places de parking public. Accueil simple et sympathique, nous recommandons cette location!

Cosy appartment in Normandy

We loved the appartment. The place is very smartly designed, all spaces are very well thought and used. It is very light and spacious. The owner provides all amenities and it is very well located. Child friendly and really enjoyable.

Séjour très agréable

Séjour très agréable dans un appartement très fonctionnel, lumineux et rénové avec goût. Il est situé dans le grand hôtel d'Houlgate siégeant en plein centre ville et se trouvant à une centaine de mètres de la plage. Localisation idéale pour visiter la Normandie avec à l'Ouest les plages du Débarquement, et à l'Est les célèbres Deauville et Honfleur notamment.
