Fantastic stay in beautifully renovated cortave

The cottage, attached to the owner’s farmhouse, but quiet and private, has been recently renovated to the highest standard. Enormous care has been given to every detail, high-quality appliances and bed linen, lovely furnishings and comfy beds. There is a large, heated, perfectly clean pool right out in front and a large garden where the children can play. The house is a short walk to shops including a great bakery and a 20 minute walk to Amboise with all it has to offer. There are lots of day trips for the family in the surrounding areas - kayaking, visiting the chateaux, the zoo park Beauval, futuroscope etc. Virgins and Jerome are fantastic hosts - available if needed but giving you privacy. There is nothing to fault - we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.

This is a lovely property with almost everything you need for a comfortable stay. The house was fully air conditioned which we needed as most of the week it was 35 to 39 degrees. The bedrooms had automatic shutters on the velux windows so we could get the room really dark at night and the king sized beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was really well equipped and there was nothing that we were missing on the nights we cooked. The pool is fabulous and was heated just the right amount to still feel refreshing on the really hot days. There are 3 outdoor seating areas; the one immediately outside the gite is a bit enclosed but suitable for dining and BBQ and there was a very useful and much needed parasol but in the morning it still got very hot here; the one adjoining the pool is lovely and dappled in the afternoon under the eucalyptus and olive tree but there is no real shade here in the morning and it can get super hot; final seating area is up in the garden area next to the petanque pitch. We had a couple of lovely evenings playing and dining up here and watching the sun set over the fields. Walking into Amboise is pretty and took about 30 minutes. Clos Luce is en route and definitely worth the visit. The Sunday market along the river was really good for everything from fresh food to clothes and leather goods. We also went to the Tuesday night market which had a live band. Virgine and Jerome were lovely hosts and we would come again if there were only 4 of us.

Kultur und Radfahren

Neuwertige und hochwertige Ausstattung mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Netter Empfang und Hinweise durch die Gastgeber. Gute Boulangerie in 1,6 km Entfernung. Das Haus liegt auf einem Hochplateau. Der Nachhauseweg ist stets mit einem Anstieg verbunden. Für Radfahrer unbedingt ein E-Bike erforderlich. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Supermarkt (Leclerc) in ca. 500 m.
