The cabin is only a 15 minute walk to downtown Estes Park shopping and restaurants. It is 1255 square feet and is bordered on the north by a forest that was recently part of Rocky Mountain National Park, and was deeded to the Historic MacGregor Ranch conservation easement in a land exchange that enabled the Park to add hiking trails. These trails are from 1 to 3 miles north of the cabin. A large herd of elk live across from the Ranch which is 1/2 mile from the cabin.
Since Rocky Mountain National Park built the cabin as a one room cabin, the cabin has quite a large living room with a fireplace. From the backyard sandstone patio, you have a magnificent view of Lumpy Ridge; Said to have the best granite rock climbing in the state (Rocky Mountain News, Jan 20, 2009). You can see elk, deer, abert squirrels, hummingbirds, wild turkey, numerous varieties of birds, chip monks, foxes, a bobcat, and other wildlife very close by, sometimes 2 feet from the kitchen table when the lights are off in the kitchen during the day.
Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the front deck beneath the pines while looking at the views. At night sit on the front deck while looking at the stars.
Although close to downtown, the cabin is in a secluded, quiet setting at the end of a street. Since you can walk or drive less than a mile into town, you will have both easy access to Estes Park's shopping and restaurants and the enjoyment of nature's tranquility and beauty. You also have quick and easy access to Safeway, the town's large grocery store (5 minutes away).
PLEASE NO PETS OR SMOKING--my daughter and I have severe allergies.
I have Wi-Fi, Dish Network, 2 Queen beds, a full kitchen (I supply sandwich, quart bags, kitchen, mayo, mustard, spices, hand lotion, Kleenex, body wash, shampoo), gas grill in back with table and chair for eating/wildlife watching, chairs in front for wildlife watching, south deck has table and chair for eating and star gazing, fireplace/wood burning stove (wood available at Safeway or Ace Hardware), a Pack n Play (bring your own play sheet), road cleaned in the winter.

VRBO Bear stayed here:
My arrival to Estes Park was nothing less than breath taking. I and my friends arrived at our Rocky Mountain Cabin, pleased to find that that it was close enough to walk to town, but still nicely tucked away and peaceful. The cabin was built by the Rocky Mountain National Park and is kept immaculate. It was well appointed, spacious with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful photography and a fully stocked kitchen.
After the cubs got settled we found that the owners had set us up with coffee for the morning so we did not need to rush to the store. The cabin has a flat screen TV with dish network, many books to read, DVD’s and a nice stereo system for the all to listen to music if we wished.
We also discovered that the owner is a photographer, and left us a wonderful 8 x 10 photograph that she had taken of the snow capped mountains. What a nice gift! I was able to bring a piece of Estes Park home with me.
The night skies were brightened with stars like we had never seen! Every evening we sat out on one of the three patio areas to star gaze and soak up the cool crisp mountain air. The back patio is equipped with a very nice grill to cook your meals.
The mornings were just as glorious as the nights. After making some coffee we walked from the cabin to do some downtown shopping and over to the Historical Stanley Hotel for a tour. Estes Park has several trails to hike or bike, as well as a number of lakes where you can feed the ducks or rent paddle boats to get out on the water. Keep an eye out for the Elk, they are everywhere.

Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: We enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, nature and wildlife photography, and nature in general. We have bought brand new furniture throughout the cabin in June 2009 including 2 queen size beds. Guest constantly comment to me how comfortable they are in our cabin and thank us for sharing this wonder place and can tell the cabin is well kept
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park, CO, USA:
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the Crown Jewels of the National Park System! Estes Park is such a charming town. We fell in love with the serenity of the location being next to the forest, the large cabin with the large windows with the ability to watch wildlife from the windows, and being so close to both entrances to RMNP.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Being within close walking/driving distance of downtown Estes (less than a mile) and close to Rocky Mountain National Park Trails. Living in a peaceful neighborhood at the end of a dead end street that is bordered on the north by a forest, MacGregor Ranch conservation easement and seeing lots of wildlife. But still being 5 minutes from Safeway.
