We do want to clarify that this is an incredibly safe neighborhood, and we have never had concerns with the surrounding area. The rates for your stay reflected the increased demand in town due to the Peace Treaty event, along with the very limited availability of accommodations during that weekend. Pricing was based on the event and the high demand, not an attempt to take advantage of guests. The men you encountered were likely other visitors in town attending the same event, as the area had an increased number of people coming into town that weekend. While we understand that encountering unfamiliar people late at night can feel uncomfortable, their presence alone does not indicate that the area was unsafe.
