Firefly Hideaway has a spectacular view of the lake from the deck or from the jacuzzi/hot tub. Spacious shower. Three tiered deck perfect for out door meals. King size bed to help you dream of the good days ahead. Queen bed in other bedroom. The electric fireplace is remote control and operates with or without heat so it can provide ambience even on warm nights. Fire pit with the option of wood fire or charcoal grill. Gas griddle also available.

The fireflies are visible at night from mid May until late fall.

The cabin is an open arrangement and Ideal for small families, honeymooners or a cozy getaway for meeting up with close friends.

There are lots of local restaurants and shops of all kinds of interesting choices in Denison and Sherman that will fill several days of exploring. As for exploring, there are places along the lakeshore where fossils abound. Just come with some sturdy shoes and a backpack.

The cottage was easy to find. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. The king size bed was very comfortable. The towels were fresh and clean. We really enjoyed the Hot Tub and the Firepit! Very pretty view of the lake in the distance. I appreciated the binder in the cottage with lots of information, & really liked the restaurant menu's, it was a nice touch. We had a very nice stay.

The location was alright. The neighborhood at that end of that street had a few wrecked vehicles parked in front of homes. The house needed a few more dishes. Overall, it worked for our visit but I would not book again.

Fantastic place to stay!

Firefly Hideaway was the perfect stay for us! Dwight and Toni did such a wonderful job with all the amenities and the property! Fresh baked cookies laid out to welcome us, the view is fantastic, hot tub and fire pit added the perfect touch! The area is a fun place to explore and met several friendly people in the area while using the golf cart. Loved having a book full of information and places to go. Everything was done perfect for our stay! We can’t wait to come back. Thank you both so much!!

20th annual get together

The lake house perfectly suited our needs and provided many amenities far beyond that. We found the hot tub and the fire pit to be a large part of our stay. The view of the lake is so prevalent that it is both mesmerizing and easily taken for granted, but shouldn't be as the lake changes with each glance. A big benefit is the ample parking space, allowing for our four vehicles to be easily parked with plenty of room, sometimes an issue we've had at other locations. Overall a good value. Highly recommended.

Perfect for a birthday!

Firefly Hideaway was just like it was described….the view is amazing, the cabin was perfect for the 2 of us & we loved the hot tub! We didn’t use the fire pit because of it being so windy. It was close to Sherman & minutes from a grocery store. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet place.

Fabulous getaway spot!!

Everything about this property was on point. From communication with the property owner to departure instructions, not one thing disappointed. The cabin was super clean, cozy and had all the amenities a guest could possible want, even fresh cookies upon arrival!! The view over the lake is truly stunning. Loved the multi-level outdoor spaces. Thank you for letting us stay in your amazing cabin. We will be back!!

Me and my wife wanted a romantic get a away! And boy did we get it! Very nice, quite and romantic get away. Dwight was very helpful in everything we needed. Close to jus abt everything u wanted to do! Had a very nice beach to go to and swim or jus hangout, restaurants in area were also very nice and had good food. little oasis near the water

We came for the boating and the lake was amazing. The owners of this property were the best communicators weve ever experience. Even when we ran out of regular listed stocked items they were replenished very quick. Fans in every room are a great touch. Used the grill and if you go into downtown Denison head over to the railyard ! Pay for the launch ramp by the day ($10/day) it was a nice grade and easy to launch/retrieve. The island restaurant had great food on the water (texas side, 2 coves down near tanglewood not at tanglewood resort) . Get the golf cart rental it made our slower nights fun cruising the neighborhood and seeing the wildlife. We saw a huge variety of butterflies due to the natural landscaping in the backyard , a fox, and 1 little racoon during a storm seeking shelter. There was a great lightning show through the trees oklahoma side it was magical had a few neighbor dogs (very friendly older pups) come say hi they wondered back home just as quickly. If your on the fence about the hot tub, dont be, it was a greaf experience to be outside and see all the stars. The views are spectacular as well drinking our coffee every morning on the upper patio .easy to get to and very easy to park our 28ft boat(over 30ft trailer) in the overflow parking , to park though come up the street (not down) pull up past the driveway and back in, the street out front is steep sloped. Overall a great stay great owners great location very accommodating and we will be back.

Firefly Getaway

This was a wonderful home to stay in while we visited with family in the area. It was just what my husband and I were looking for! The house was clean and we felt instantly at home. I loved that there was a full kitchen with ample accessories. It was great to have a binder full of suggestions and menus from surrounding restaurants for when I didn't feel like cooking. The house is out in the country, which made it feel even more like a get away! Spent several evenings in the hot tub watching fireflys in the backyard. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to visit family. Thank you!

The idea for Firefly Hideaway began in August of 2020 as we sat on our deck and watched the fireflies hovering over the grass and blinking in the lot adjoining our property. The fireflies really do come out at night for at least 6 or 7 months of the year. A small house on a couple of lots became available in the neighborhood and we thought it might work as a vacation rental. It needed a whole lot of ripping and tearing and tender loving care, but the fireflies loved the place! Thus the name, Firefly Hideaway.

Dwight and Toni have been married for just a few short years and we found this neighborhood on Lake Texoma to be perfectly suited to our new common lifestyle. Dwight is retired and Toni is soon to be home full time. People around us were quick to welcome us to the lake community. Some of our new friends have become like second family!

We love to travel and often seek out a vacation rental instead of the cookie cutter rooms at the “franchises”. The good things we have encountered on our outings on the road, we have tried to include in the planning and implementation of Firefly Hideaway. We believe every guest has something unique in mind when they choose a vacation rental. We can’t be all things to all guests, but we try to provide a few options. Maybe it is the lake view or the king size bed. Could be the soothing message of the hot tub or the chance to sit at the fire pit and catch a glimpse of some fireflies. Some guests love to cook indoors and some love the chance at grilling outside. Whatever your thing is, we hope you can find a way to fulfill that desire here at Firefly Hideaway.

Firefly Hideaway is located on Lake Texoma which is just over an hour from the DFW Metroplex. It is easily within a short travel distance from all points in north Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. We have a very wooded surrounding with just enough privacy and easy access to the lake down the hill to Tucker's Cove and Lake Texoma.
