I was very disappointed to be an VRBO. The house had dust buildup on the floor return vent, cobwebs under cabinets, the toiletries were not put out in shower, no shampoo, conditioner or soap. The towels were very worn, they had the feel of being line dried. We were not informed of the 2 de-humidifiers and that they needed maintaining. We had to empty both every day in order for them to operate. The dry coffee creamer was solid, due to moisture issue? Not enough coffee K-cups for 3 adults. We did however did enjoy the porch, but funny how we were asked to keep the noise down, and the neighbors music was extremely loud. My last issue was the door code lock. The #4 sticks and of course my code had a 4 in it. That definitely needs to be repaired. I was also a little frustrated with the fact you charge a cleaning fee, and I had to do the work… trash, dishes, towels, sheets.
We wanted to stay in a home that Ben and Erin renovated! It was very nice and cozy. Loved the countertop that Ben reconditioned. Had everything we needed and was nice and quiet. Ellisville is a sweet town and enjoyed our visit to Laurel! Perfect for a couple getaway. No more Rickey😅
This was the perfect location for our visit with family and business needs in Laurel and surrounding areas. Cabin was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. Only item we did not find that would have been beneficial was a toaster. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Thank you.
Our three day stay was quiet and relaxing. Being a fan of the show Home Town, It was fun to stay in a once featured house. The house was lovely and well equipped with everything from extra linens and towels, to a well stocked kitchen.
We spent our days in Laurel which was only a ten minute drive.
We are glad we took the time to come to this area of Mississippi.
Very cozy and quiet cabin. Only suggestion for improvement would be to have a seating alternative to the sleeper sofa. It’s not very comfortable.

Edlin Cabin near Laurel
Perfect size for 2. Nicely decorated with one major flaw: linoleum on bathroom floor buckles and is dingy. While we were out and about enjoying our final day of vacation - early in the day - the owner sent us a laundry list (multiple times) of things we needed to clean and accomplish at the house - with a $50 additional threat fee if we didnt get each item completed. Tell me - why do we pay a cleaning fee????
We were looking forward to staying at The Edlin House, and it lived up to our expectations--and then some! But we have to agree with others who have stayed there that it needs a new sofa! The cushions are smashed beyond comfort, and they are not the kind that you can flip from one end of the sofa to the other. It may be a good hide-a-bed, but it's lousy as the only seating in the living room. In spite of that (and all the rain), we enjoyed our visit to Ellisville and Laurel. We may even stay at The Edlin House, but we'll bring our own chairs. :)
Had a great time exploring Laurel and Ellisville! Great place to stay!

It was just a cool place to stay. Everything is provided....it's like going back home as an adult. It's nice a quite, and when you walk outside it's smells amazing. You're going to have to visit in the spring for the smell, but it's an awesome place to spend a few days while touring Laurel!
This house met all our expectations. We even watch the hometown episode while sitting on the couch. Literally mins from down town Laurel. Home was clean, and nothing short of having everything you need. from, towels to things for the kitchen.
We loved Mr. Edlin's "Home Town" make over cabin. We; two moms (best friends) and our two daughters (best friends), stayed three nights. During the day we went sight seeing, exploring, eating, and shopping. We would go back to the cabin to relax and hang out and then go out for more adventures. Very clean, private, and easy access.
Perfect Quiet Spot to Enjoy Laurel and Surrounding Areas
If you're a fan of Hometown, and even if if you're not, this is a GREAT escape from the hustle and bustle of normal life! The extra touches such as the cool welcome booklet and information about local eats, etc, are really nice. You can tell that these people really care and want to provide a great experience for you!
Super easy and convenient check-in and check-out procedure. This place is really clean and nice with no weird smells. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is nice with a spacious shower and full-size stacked washer/dryer.
The kitchen was impressive! Not just the beatiful countertops with tons of space, but it is also stocked with more cookware and utensils than most homes! There was also a great selection of seasonings, spices, and oils. I tried some of the spices on our eggs one morning and that afternoon we went to the Knight Butcher in Laurel and I bought a bunch to take back to TN with me!
The cabin is equipped with a nice TV with a Roku attached, and the wi-fi was plenty fast for our needs. On the inevitable rainy day, this is a great place to cozy up on the couch and binge old episodes of Hometown. Then when the rain subsides, you're just15 minutes from many of the other houses renovated on the show!
I am also an amateur musician and guitar player, and it was super cool that there was an Epiphone acoustic guitar there to play! I DIDN'T bring a guitar on this trip since we were only going to be gone for a few days, so this was a pleasant surprise and it really made a connection to Kevin and this house for me.
To sum it all up, this is the PERFECT place to stay if you're visiting Laurel or Ellisville, particularly if the draw for you is the show "Hometown." You probably appreciate nice things, subtle touches that show care and effort, and are a kind person who appreciates peace and rest while enjoying the opportunity to step away from busy city life and appreciate the slower pace of small-town life. This is the place for you.
The house was a perfect getaway. We had traveled on Ms Blues trail and this house actually had an acoustic Epiphone. Brought my own guitar but still enjoyed playing the Epi. Everything about the town from restaurant to the people were wonderful….. definitely do again!!!
Great Salvage of a literally Dilapidated shack by the Napiers
Unbelievable restoration and finish out. Floors still a little creaky in kitchen and bath, but there were holes in the floor and ceiling when they started the ‘Reno. Worthy of a return visit.
