The Roost at The Southerner

Adorable pet-friendly cottage within walking distance to downtown Saugatuck and all it has to offer. Main room offers a gas fireplace, TV and full kitchen with a pull-out loveseat and space to dine. Queen bed in bedroom, ensuite bath with shower and laundry room. A/C, ceiling fans & shady setting. Private parking and outdoor garden area. Perfect stay for a couple + pets. Be sure to take advantage of the popular restaurant The Southerner right next door. The restaurant can be quite busy in the summer so there's fantastic people watching from your private patio but it ends service at 10pm so no late night noise or commotion.

Perfect cottage getaway! Clean, updated amenities, and quiet location. There is a very good restaurant next to the cottage, but you’d never know! Very cozy and comfortable. Beautiful Historic district with gorgeous homes. Very walkable. Will definitely revisit!

Cleanliness was top notch. I’m picky with a clean place and this passed the test. The host responds quickly, resolves any issues immediately, and does whatever she can to ensure your stay is perfect. The fireplace is great for adding a little extra warmth on a chilly morning. The ample supply of towels and wash clothes was appreciated. The heated bathroom floor made me realize what I was missing in my own bathroom. The location is perfect as it is a quick walk downtown but far enough out for a little peace and quiet. If going to the Saugatuck area I highly recommend this spot.

The Roost is very well-situated for all sorts of exploration of the Saugatuck/Holland area! It's conveniently located to a number of cycling paths, easy nature trails, and it's walkable to downtown Saugatuck.The place is small and cozy - there is a sizeable fridge, glass-top stove, and a built-in dishwasher. The amenities are great, and there's a good selection of plates, cups, and cutlery, if you feel like cooking!The bathroom is great, and the water pressure is solid! Every light fixture switch has been P-touch labeled, so there is no mystery!Nice patio space, even though I didn't use it. No hassles, and the place is very conveniently located next to The Southerner, which was great! The staff there was also quite pleasant and accommodating!

The fireplace was not operable as the remote seemed to need batteries. We have come here twice before and usually find more accessories like coffee pods, paper towels ect. But all in all a great experience.

The property was very ready for us in all phases, clean, well stocked on linens, kitchenware, thoughtful decor, very good storage, use of space.The appropriately sized gas fireplace is amazing if you like to keep it cool in the bedroom, warm in the main area.
