Relax in the privacy of a single family home during your stay at Sugarloaf, in the quiet but convenient West Mountain area. Enjoy spectacular views of the entire Bigelow Mountain range from almost every room of this three floor, 2000 square foot house.

Located about 100 yards from the West Mountain Trail, with normal snow conditions you can ski to the door on a short cross cut trail, or take the shuttle bus (ski season season only) directly to the base lodge area. Call the shuttle for free service to restaurants and clubs in the evening. Snow shoe or nordic ski from the door or access the Outdoor Center's 105 km groomed trail system. The golf club house is about a 10 minute walk away.

The main floor is comfortable and roomy, almost completely open, allowing great exposure to the winter sun. The living room area has comfortable couches and a large wood stove which can be opened to view the fire like a fireplace. Also on the main floor are the dining area, fully equipped kitchen, entry area, and half bath.

The House: Enter the house from the wrap around porch and walk into the entry area. The open concept main floor has the living area, dining area, kitchen and half batch.

The lower level has one bedroom with twin beds and a trundle bed, one bathroom, a family room with double futon, and a laundry room.

The upper level has two bedrooms (each with a queen bed) and one bathroom.

West Mountain Chairlift & Shuttle bus: The West Mountain chair runs weekends and school vacation weeks, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (ski down to the base of the chair and you can ride the lift up and ski over to the base area to buy a ticket.) You can ski t the door whether the West Mountain Chair is running or not.

Also, a free shuttle bus goes by the house on a schedule (every 20-30 minutes) from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekends and holiday weeks to take you directly to the base lodge or Super Quad in the morning or to restaurants and shops at other times.. It also runs a schedule other days and times or is available by calling 237-6853. Leave your car parked in the driveway for your entire stay!

Perfect spot for a ski getaway with friends!

  • 5 of 5

Had a great experience at Peter's home -- what an absolutely beautiful spot in a perfect location. The home is exactly what you might picture when you think ski cabin in Maine. Cozy and warm with lots of light. Lots of nice amenities as well, including a wood stove.

We were a group of three couples visiting over a long weekend. With three separate levels, there was lots of space for privacy and group activities as well. Having two living room spaces was ideal for when the boys watched football downstairs and the gals enjoyed wine upstairs.

The only bad part was that conditions on the mountain weren't great, so we couldn't take advantage of the West Mountain chair. But we didn't mind the few minute drive to the base -- house is on the resort, so getting there was a breeze!

Great house - great skiing !

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this beautiful house for four nights in early January 2018 - a very chilly time to be up at Sugarloaf but the house was warm and comfortable and perfect for our family. The shuttle service and ski off options made it super easy to ski and whether we went out to dinner or cooked at the house, everything was easy. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly :)

Place was perfect! Stayed for a ski weekend had plenty of space and very comfortable. With Shuttles and a local lift you never need to use a car if you choose. Would highly recommend.

Cozy and modern mountain home

  • 5 of 5

Great value for money. Well appointed kitchen. Furnace room has a workbench with tools to fix or make adjustments to skis/snowboards, etc. Vermont Castings wood stove on main floor and gas fireplace downstairs help make the home very cozy, especially when cold outside....and it was bitter cold when we were there in late March.

Easy access to the slopes.

Great communication with owner Peter Farnum.

Great value

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home in a good location. Bus stop out front to take you to the lifts, or a short walk to the chair on weekends. You can ski in if there is a lot of snow as well. The amenities were fabulous, we had everything we needed and it was clean and fresh. Would stay again.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with our stay! There was plenty of room for all of us (two families of four people each) both to hang out together and for groups to have some alone space. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen well equipped. The location beautiful! The owner was very responsive when we called about needing the driveway de-iced even though it was Christmas Eve.

This was our first time renting someplace through an online site. We were a little hesitant but the whole experience was positive. The owner, Peter, was responsive, informative and helpful throughout the process from initial contact all the way through a speedy processing of our deposit return.

We hated to leave the place when it was time to go and definitely hope we will be able to return in the future!
