About The Owner

Rodger and Ana Marie met in New Mexico years back and fell in love with each other and with Santa Fe! They decided to invest in this beautiful home so that they could visit often with their friends and families. When it was time to get married in summer 2012 they celebrated their marriage on the grounds of the compound (it's perfect for parties!)

There's so much to do in Santa Fe you will never have enough time! Many favorites compete when deciding how to spend an afternoon: Museum Hill has 4 museums plus the amazing Botanical Gardens; soaking at Ten Thousand Waves; checking out the latest installation at Meowulf; hiking in Tent Rocks; or taking a class with Floery at Railyard Fitness (1st class is free!)

When we are feeling a bit lazy we go next door to Radish & Rye or to Cowgirl BBQ to enjoy local music and Silver Coin Margaritas. The Bell Tower Bar (the La Fonda Hotel) is one of our favorite spots to watch the spectacular Santa Fe sunsets. Happy to share other favorite spots with YOU!

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

Why The Owner chose Downtown

Location, Location, Location! We love the Railyard District! You can easily walk anywhere in Santa Fe from our home. We have a great basket that you can borrow to go to the Farmers + Artists Market just a few blocks away. You'll meet lots of locals who have made Santa Fe their home.

If you want a car to go to Ten Thousand Waves or so you can drive up to the Aspen Trail Vista for a hike- having 2 parking spots means you'll never have to search for a parking spot!

There are only 4 units in the entire Compound so its very private and quiet. Talk to us about renting the entire Compound for a special event.

What makes this house unique

Kitty and Greg are our property managers and they know EVERYTHING about Santa Fe! They are also amazing artists - ask them to show you their work.

Great location and beautiful casita

  • 5 of 5

Great location for walking. Bed linens could have been nicer and less dust around bed headboard and side of bed. But overall well equipped in kitchen loved all 3 Vega fireplaces. Well situated for 2 girls or couples. Area outside of casita very Santa Fe and very clean. Pool closed for season. Loved the whole experience.

Girls get away

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the stay. Kitty was so nice and full of information. Beds comfortable. Clean home. We wished the pool and hot tub were working. Patios and entree could have been swept or cleaned up befor we arrived. But overall nice and within walking distance to downtown and farmers mkt.

The unit was fabulous and did not disappoint!

  • 5 of 5

The unit was fabulous and did not disappoint! It was a true Santa Fe experience from the moment we arrived at the casita. We fell in love with the architecture and all the details to include lots of southwest décor and antiques. The gate to the little “compound” is secure and requires a code to enter. The kitchen was fully-appointed and open to the dining area that included a large table for up to 8 people or more. The three open-air, private patios provided for additional enjoyment and options for sitting/relaxing. The two beds in each bedroom were very comfortable; however, the pull-out sleeper sofa in the living room is barely a cot and was not comfortable for an adult (maybe a child 5 or under). We used the lap-pool one afternoon and it was clean and very private. The representative (Kitty) who greeted us upon our arrival was very warm, friendly and helpful. She provided us with lots of insider information concerning restaurants, shopping, etc., and took the time to write things down for us and provide us with a map of the area and showed us some highlights. This super-quiet and private location can’t be beat! We preferred being off the tourist path and this provided the perfect balance with the Plaza only a few minutes away, but still super close to everything without the hustle-bustle.

Great place close to all the action

  • 5 of 5

The casita was perfect for our family. It was clean, well stocked, and had the vibe we were looking for in Santa Fe. Private off street compound was really great, we felt like we were at our own little resort. Pool was great, we had the place to ourselves. Manager was really friendly and helpful with suggestions on restaurants and activities. Our 2 night stay in Santa Fe was awesome, in large part due to this wonderful home.

Awesome, comfortable, beautiful house for family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for 6 days for a family gathering and adventure in Santa Fe. My parents loved the master suite, especially the bed built right into the structure of the house. It was roomy and comfortable with a big bathroom, closet, and reading area. My sister and niece shared the other bedroom, also roomy and comfortable. I used the pull-out sofa in the living room which was plenty comfortable for a pull-out sofa. Unfortunately, it was a bit chilly in late March for us to fully utilize the outdoor patios. The house was well-stocked with basic amenities. (Definitely check out what's available before heading off to the nearby Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, or other markets or you may contribute yet another bottle of mustard to the collection.) Great to be able to make and eat breakfast, some lunches and some dinners in! We watched a couple of DVDs on the very small TV - we discovered that the DVD player is built into the side of the TV. We didn't use the laundry, but it was available right next to the house.

The house is inside a gate with other units, only one of which was also occupied. The coded gate and large parking area at the end of the units was easy and convenient. We often drove to downtown events because it's hard for my parents to walk for very far, but otherwise, it is only about a 10 minute walk from the main parts of Santa Fe. Though we had laid out our basic agenda ahead of time, the house had loads of brochures, guide books, and magazines to help us figure out what to do while there.

My parents kept talking about when we rent the house for two weeks next time. Definitely an excellent place to stay in Santa Fe.

(Personal recommendations (1-4 stars): ***Tent Rocks and ****Bandolier Nat'l Monument for hiking. ****Tamale making class at Santa Fe School of Cooking. Mixed reviews on the **Georgia O'Keefe inspired painting class at Santa Fe Art Classes - mostly fun and different though. ***Georgia O'Keefe Museum. **** Paper Dosa Restaurant - (Southern Indian food) The only restaurant open later on Sunday evening. So glad we found it. **** Meow Wolf interactive art experience - hard to describe, but a 10 minute drive and worth a couple hours of your life to experience. ****Ten Thousand Waves Spa - a bit of a drive. The massage would have been nice, but with only a couple of hours and about $30 each, we had a very nice hot tub/sauna experience. And of course wandering Canyon Road galleries and shops...)
