Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 3-6)

"Coconut Cottage" is located directly on the beautiful beaches of Pelican Point. A friendly, secluded fishing village on the east end of Grand Bahama Island. This is the ultimate in a serene, peaceful getaway but is close enough to Freeport to experience dining, shopping, tours, nightlife and casinos. Come and enjoy the gorgeous views, the tranquility and relax on the hammock overlooking the ocean. Escape the madness and relax in paradise......

Bonefishing, snorkeling and 'out island' tours are available from Pelican Point. The water here is crystal clear and the sunsets are spectacular!

***I can help with transportation suggestions/provide it and/or boat rental possibilities; fees may be associated. I cannot guarantee boat/car availability for your visit due to climate/mechanical and/or other existing environmental/island conditions. I may rent our large 18 foot boat to qualified experienced boaters and captains only. The open ocean and weather conditions require experience to navigate therefore this requirement is not negotiable. We will connect you with a local who can provide tours and fishing if you do not hold credentials to use/rent our boat.

If you are interested please send me a message and I'll be happy to discuss the options with you and provide you with more information.

Let me help you to make this the most memorable, fun and best vacation of your life!

Notes:
This is a beautiful, quiet and peaceful location. Located approximately 45 miles East of Freeport and about 10 miles West of McCleans Town which is the end of the island. When you reserve there is pick up available at roughly 100-130$ each way from location to port or airport. (amounts may vary) Major groceries and supplies should be purchased in Freeport prior to stay. There may be beach gnats and flies outside so bring with you some insect repellent. There is a convenience store roughly 12 miles from Home. There is little to no equipment for snorkeling, fishing, kayaking or other activities so if you want to do those rent them in Freeport prior to stay. This is a beach house away from the hustle and bustle! This is a beach remote/location so prepare prior to landing in Paradise at Pelican Point. Please send along any questions you may have! Thank you

Beautiful home and beautiful area of the bahamas

  • 5 of 5

This vacation goes down in my record book for probably the best vacation I have ever been on. The house was beautiful, the management personnel were great and easy to deal with, the beach and waters were breathtaking, and fishing was phenomenal!

I am a boat captain in Florida so I sort of know what I'm doing even though I was new to the Bahamas! We had fresh fish for dinner every night ! I would totally rent this property again! The only downside to the trip that has nothing to do with the property condition or the house is the horse flies so bring spray of there is one for them! Just some advice for anyone who goes to stay in the area but do not let it hinder you from renting this beautiful home!

Amazing Vacations

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 6 people, from 25 to 29 years old.

Everything went perfectly with Mike from the very beggining. Always available to answer my questions before and even after booking.

The house is really nice, we didn't use the boat because we were afraid of hurricane Erika.

Be prepared to drive nearly 1 hour from Freeport to the house, we didn't know it was that far, but the trip was totally worth it.

The reverend and his son were very nice to us, always available. Even let us use their wifi since ours wasn't working because of the storm.

Would definetely recommend and go back.

Safe...Secure...Sunny and SOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN !!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment I started to communicate with Mike and Karen to rent this beautiful ocean front home, I was impressed. The settlement of Pelican Point with Reverend Freddy [and the other locals there] was very friendly. He is a true historian for the area. This made our stay just that much better. We spent hours beach combing, fishing from the skiff, swimming, and exploring in the Durango. To see where the Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed... too cool. Each settlement or small town had it's own charm as we drove to the east end of the island. True, you do need to pick up groceries, but the Rev. sent his son Freddy Jr.to pick us up at the airport, and after a grocery store visit we were at the house by 4pm. The weather was perfect and we were so lucky to spend 2 glorious weeks there. We ate snapper[ that we caught ourselves], lobster tail and had fresh coconut everyday. If you want to eat out, Bahama Johns is right down the beach. Dynamite Bahama MAMAs there, as well as Conch, Ribs etc.etc. So Yummy. We of course went to Freeport more than once for shopping, exploring etc etc. This was a breeze in the durango. We met couples from Toronto, and Ohio in the settlement staying in homes there too. It is so private and quiet there. If that is what you're looking for....it's the place for you. As I manage a busy Pre/Post/Recovery area in a large hospital and my husband is an Engineer, this was true Paradise for us. Thanks to Mike and Karen for being so easy and wonderful to work with. Karen and I have become fast E-mail buddies. It's been great.

Greg and I are already trying to plan for another mission there next year.

Sincerely...Cindy Barr

A beautiful place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this home and loved every minute of it. My husband and sons fished from sunup to sundown everyday and my elderly mother in law enjoyed the deck and comfort of the well appointed home. I worked on my tan, bobbed around in the most gorgeous water of the perfect temperature and enjoyed long walks on white sandy beaches picking up one unique shell after another. I felt so relaxed and happy after our week at this heavenly place. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded, beautiful place to unwind and recharge, this is it! The Nichols are very nice to work with and we would love to return someday to this place.

Very peaceful, quiet and quaint village area. Warm, friendly neighbors with community spirit. Wake up in the morning and drink your coffee on the deck while hearing the sounds of the ocean and looking at the breathtaking views. You will recharge away from the chaos of the world while wrapped in a warm ocean breeze. Sit back relax, fish, walk the beach, explore the reefs right of the the back door.... decompress and enjoy.
