Room for everyone, big family style dinners and cornhole boards set up outside while we grill & chill. We attended an event at Va Tech and this was a nice change of pace from staying in a hotel in town. The house was well furnished & the kitchen well appointed. Everyone had a wonderful time.
It was a perfect place for our family to meet for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Plenty of room inside and a big yard to work off all the food and drink from Thanksgiving.

Had a great stay at the Four Square. Friends and family were in VA for a game at VT. The house was spacious to accommodate all of us. Justin was a great host and was very attentive to our requests.

So glad you and your friends had a great time Michele! You're welcome back anytime.
Beautiful home rented for my family and friends annual football stadium trip. The setting was gorgeous and everything was exactly as advertised. Our favorite part was the wrap around porch to enjoy the cool evenings. Very clean and all instructions were clear. Fast communication with the host. Highly recommended and would definitely consider renting again for a longer stay.

Hi Brian,
Thank you for the wonderful review. Do come back.

Amazing house and accommodations! Perfect for celebrating my parents 50th Anniversary. Plenty of rooms & space for 12 people to relax and enjoy without being on-top-of-each other. Huge wrap-around porch is great for sittin and sippin. This amazing house was built in 1880, but all furniture and accommodations seem to be new while retaining an authentic antique feel and ambiance. Owner, Justin, was great and very prompt when communicating.

So glad you and your family enjoyed your time. Congratulations to your parents! So glad we could play a part in the celebration.
My family and I stayed at this wonderful Victorian home while we attended a family reunion down the road a few miles past Floyd. There were 7 adults and we felt so comfortable and at home here. The kitchen had everything we needed for the meals we prepared, and I have to say in the morning we all commented on how well we slept because the mattresses were amazing! Firm but not too hard. We never slept on anything like those, they were great! I highly recommend this place.

So glad we could be a place for your family to gather. Thanks for the kind words!
I rented this property to have room for a gathering of family and friends. The Home is absolutely beautiful, but surprisingly cozy despite its size. Justin was easy to work with and the check in and out ran smoothly. It provided a lovely quiet backdrop for a gathering that was very important to me. The Location is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but it’s not hard to find— just be sure to plan your trips for groceries and stuff carefully. Also the beds are very comfy and we all slept really well. I would absolutely come back to this property.

So happy you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the kind words. Your welcome back anytime…anytime it’s not booked 😉.
Like a step back in time, but not quite. This house was built pre-1900 but it is well maintained and upgraded where it counts.
The wrap around porch & pre-1900 floorplan designed to capitalize on the breezes allowed us to enjoy the cool air without ac even in July. The produce stand up the road and well supplied kitchen allowed us to cook up some tasty meals. Floyd, the nearby hikes, and the balance of elegant and practical in the decor and amenities made this the perfect place for a reunion.

Gretchen, we're so glad we could be a gathering place for your families! Thanks for the kind words.
My family had a wonderful time at the property during the week of Christmas. We had a tree delivered from a Christmas Tree Farm down the road and brought ornaments and lights with us. On Christmas morning we had a big breakfast around the dining room table and opened presents in the living room all morning. 7 adults from age 19 through 76 thoroughly enjoyed their time at the house. Floyd music spots weren't open during the time we spent there but we all decided relaxing at the house was a great time. Took drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway as well. Only thing we would stress is a specific cleaning of cobwebs was needed. This was a great time and we will definitely keep the property in mind when we come back to the Floyd area.

Lisa - So happy we could accommodate your family for Christmas! I'm sorry about then cobwebs, thanks for your discerning discerning eye🧐 We'll make sure they're taken care of.
Pictures of this home do not lie. It is truly a beautiful home. It is not secluded, however the neighbors are not close and there are bucolic country views. There is a Dollar General nearby but no restaurants or grocery stores. Anything you could need can be found 30 minutes away in Roanoke. We were a group of three generations from out of state in the area to attend a funeral of a loved one. It was a peaceful setting providing a comfortable retreat. Upon arrival there was an issue with the water. Justin arranged the repair as soon as he was aware of the problem. I would have no hesitation in staying in the home again.

Sally, it was a pleasure. Glad we were able to move the dates around and still accommodate you!
This property is gorgeous inside and out! My four sons, their wives and children met us for a long 4th of July reunion - 11 people in all from five different states. There was a bedroom for each family with plenty of space for privacy, as well as common areas to interact and enjoy meals together. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking implements. We spent a significant time outside as well enjoying the yard with outside games, the kids playing on the play equipment, sitting on the huge wraparound porch watching fireworks, and hanging out on the deck. This is a very peaceful, quiet setting if you are looking to get away from the chaos of every day life. Communication with the owner was very quick and detailed, offering us information on things to do in the area. He even provided us with where the local fireworks could be viewed. All in all this was an incredible stay, and I can't recommend staying here enough!

Thank you Diane! So glad we were able to be facilitate and be the gathering place for your family!
The pictures do not do this property justice. It is absolutely gorgeous and no stone was left unturned by the owner. As the "team mom" for our softball team, I am responsible for 14 teenage girls, when they are not on the ball field. That is no small task. For me to have that many teenagers completely happy and comfortable (as though they were in their own home) speaks volumes of this home. The girls were at peace when we were staying here. And I had more than adequate room to provide healthy, home cooked meals and a relaxing environment.
As for Justin, the owner, he was readily available during our entire stay. I was able to contact him with any questions at any time. He has a back up for a back to ensure that no person goes without while staying at his property!!!

Thank you for the kind words Amanda! Happy we could help you and your team off the field.
The property was great, we totally enjoyed the feeling of being back in the country, sitting on the expansive front porch in the cool of the evening on with our coffee in the early morning. Watching the great grandkids catch fireflies in the front yard and swing on the tree swing. The rooms are comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped with everything required to put together some great family meals.
Renting couldn’t have been more easy handled more smoothly. Justin, the property manager, was extremely accessible to answer questions, help with any problems & just plain wonderful to work with. We will definitely rent FourSquare again. The home was BEAUTIFUL, comfortable, & more than what we expected. We had a grand time.
It's a nice clean Victorian home with internet wi-fi connectivity.
Water pressure for showering was an issue with most country homes. The kitchen was well equipped for baking and cooking. Overall, it was a nice place to stay for the weekend.
Overall, this was a great house. The road was closer than we realized so the car noise was a bit much. However, it was spacious and beautiful, with enough modern tech to make staying in a classic house comfortable.
Loved staying at this beautiful home. Really beautiful space and wonderful countryside getaway. Justin was a fantastic host and really accommodating with our questions before and after booking. We had a great stay and hope to come back another time. Thank you!
My family wanted a rental property close to the wedding venue that would accommodate multiple adults, children, and a senior, and would allow us the feel of a home away from home instead of that hotel vibe. This house delivered. Historic charm meets modern amenities with only a small hitch in the initial access that was quickly rectified. Thank you for helping to make this wedding celebration better. Cheers!

My friends and I wanted a get away in the mountains. We loved our stay at the 1880s Victorian Four Square. It was well-stocked and very comfortable. It is close to Roanoke and Virginia Tech. We would stay here again. The host was very quick to respond to any questions.
We had a great stay at the Foursquare. My oldest son was wrapping up New Cadet Week at Virginia Tech and we were looking for a place to spread out and relax a little bit away from Blacksburg for a few days and Foursquare was perfect. Great house, beautifully maintained, lots of privacy, full laundry facility, fully equipped kitchen and a nice grill out on an outdoor patio with a comfortable outdoor table. Great communication from Justin, who also provided us with a list of interesting things to do nearby. Highly recommended!

About the host
Hosted by Justin Pederson
Our family of 8 lives down the road on a 46 acre farm with horses, turkeys, chickens & bunnies. Encouraged by my wife who's had a crush on this home for years, and tired of me running my business out of our bedroom on a card table, we purchased this home for me to have some space to run my HVAC business which I do from the spare lower laundry room during the weekdays. We also have the opportunity to enjoy the home ourselves and now have the opportunity to share it with others.
Why they chose this property
It's hard not to let your mind wonder when you walk through the FourSquare. What were the original owners like? Who were the skilled craftsman that cut, milled, and fashioned the beautiful woodwork? Where did they keep the horse and buggy's?
We're not the first that have fallen under the homes beautiful spell but it's certainly fun to be a part of its (recent) history and preserve it for those in the future.
Large enough to bring multiple families together, or charming enough for an intimate couples getaway in a historic home in Floyd County. It's spacious floorpan, and 68 places to sit scattered throughout the inside and outside of the home make it great for family gatherings or quiet conversations.
What makes this property unique
It's location off of Blue Ridge Parkway mile marker 146 makes it a great for those wanting to explore rural Appalachia. Floyd County is known for it's bluegrass and hosts the weekly "Friday Night Jamboree" at "The Country Store" featuring live bluegrass inside with multiple bands playing out on the street.
Only 45 minutes from Christiansburg/Blacksburg and Roanoke.
