We had the most wonderful stay at this property. Our dog enjoyed the yard, we enjoyed the hot tub and close proximity to Brevard, Hendersonville and DuPont national park. If there is anything negative to say about the property it would be the lack of blinds in all the rooms and the bed was pretty hard. It wasn’t enough to make us not want to stay again. The place was super clean and had everything that we would need.
The Pisgah Shadows Cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. The proximity to hiking and town was great and the dogs loved the fenced yard, while we enjoyed the private hot tub. We would definitely stay here again!
We couldn't believe our luck when this cottage was available on short notice, and we loved our stay! Where to start: it's so nice to have 2 full baths, the hot tub is just a couple steps outside, the ice maker is industrious, the cottage is easy to find with driveway and entry level and smooth, and we never heard a (man-made) peep until the cleaning staff drove up as we were leaving! The Sams make booking and staying a breeze, and make it VERY hard to leave Hendersonville in the rear view.
We stayed for one night away to enjoy a change of scenery & it was perfect! This was such a cozy stay and we had everything we needed. Highly recommend eating at Root & Bone about 10 minutes away for some lovely comfort food! The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog as well.
Very easy to unload our car (and load up upon leaving) as only one step to front porch and one step inside. Enjoyed the hot tub and pet friendly fenced yard. Very scenic drive and close to Brevard, Hendersonville, and Flat Rock.
Only concern was the mattress in master bedroom was too firm causing some neck discomfort. TV’s were very slow to download programming. Could be older TVs or slow internet. Fenced yard was great for our k9. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Pisgah Shadows Cottage. Everything was as described and better. The neighborhood was quiet and close to DuPont State Park & other parks. The fenced in area was great for our dog. We would stay again when we visit the area.
Clean rooms, good presentation, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. (We bought and refilled some spices for the next guest). It was a nice stay but it was odd that the “hot tub guy” kept randomly coming by. He came by once to check the hot tub chemical balance as it was getting dark which was weird and then he came again when he thought we were gone (he knew my car’s color and specifications which was odd. The host and I never spoke on this so it was just mildly alarming. The host himself was very kind and responsive. All in all definitely a great place to stay if you don’t mind washing your dishes, cleaning your laundry, and taking your trash out (which we didn’t) but it could be a little unnerving for the solo traveler if that guy comes by periodically and unannounced. I wasn’t too concerned but it unnerved my girlfriend and scared my sister.
2nd time staying here and I love it. The calm and clarity I get by staying here is a nice break away from home. The house is always super clean. My dog loves the fenced in yard and I love the hot tub. This is my go to spot whenever I visit Brevard for work.
It was very well organized and put together! Only complaint I have is I wish we could’ve stayed longer! It was a perfect little get away! Thank you again!
The house was so comfortable and a perfect combo of what we needed. The dogs loved the fenced in back yard. We highly enjoyed the hot tub on cooler nights and the kitchen was so cute. The whole place was very clean and so easy to get in. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. The fenced yard was perfect for the dog. The hot tub pictured is not the same one as is now on the property but worked fine.
Overall had a lovely stay here. The house was just what we were looking for in terms of amenities (we were traveling with 3 dogs), and was close to hiking and some good restaurants and breweries. I was disappointed to pick up about 8 bags worth of dog poop (not from our dogs) from the fenced in area while we were here. The fenced area is a good size, but not big enough that we could just leave it be with our 3 running around. Even though those visiting should be responsible for cleaning up after their own dogs, it should still be checked occasionally as it wasn't our responsibility to clean up either. It'd be awesome to have a motion sensored light over the fenced area for night time potty breaks, but we just used a flashlight. The house itself had everything we needed, the only suggestion I would make is to have all the check out information easy to find in one place such as the welcome binder. There were lots of instructions on the walls which is fine, but they were scattered about and we were worried about missing something that we needed to do. We would stay here again, and always appreciate a host that is welcoming to multiple pets! They were also very quick to respond to messages.
Everything was as advertised. The home was clean, comfortable, and well stocked and T he yard was perfect for our puppy.
The location is perfect - close to everything, but far enough to feel like you’re in the woods.
We enjoyed our stay in this house. It is close to DuPont state forest where we spent most of our time hiking or biking. The hot tub was very nice in the evenings. The house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog.
We chose this property based on its location and it exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room; visiting family members commented on the open floor plan. The fenced side yard was a huge plus (it would be even better with a light for nighttime). Overall we were pleased with everything.
