About the Property
4 Bedrooms, 2 full baths, outdoor shower, house sleeps 8
Wonderful Year Round! : Snug, heated, and cozy year round with a wood burning fireplace in the living room and captivating water views, this house is a perfect destination Spring, Fall, and Winter. You may not be inclined to go to the beaches off season, but many of Wellfleet's restaurants stay open May through October. The Wellfleet Oyster Festival in mid October is a weekend celebration with music, a road race and art and craft fair.
Any Fall or Spring weekend is an opportune time to bike the range of trails in the area, from the 22 mile Cape Cod Rail Trail, which is a paved surface with few hills going from Wellfleet all the way back to Dennis with stops in towns along the way, or for the more aggressive bikers, the Provincetown Lands Trails, a spectacular and challenging 5 mile course through hills, dunes, and wetlands. Scenic but rigorous!
Another tremendous natural resource just a few miles down the road is the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, which has 5 miles of trails offering incredible bird watching opportunities and educational programs. Because two thirds of Wellfleet is in the National Seashore, twenty square miles of it or thousands of acres have trails that ramble through pine woods, salt marshes, and towering white dunes along the shoreline, all providing the chance to discover and enter wildlife habitats. For one of the ultimate wildlife eco- trips, no one should leave the Outer Cape without having gone on a Whale Watch, which are run out of Provincetown, about 25 minutes away. Few experiences compare with seeing one of these magnificent creatures swimming and splashing right up close to the boat! Indeed, Wellfleet remains a mysterious and captivating place for both the intellectually curious and the casual beach goer.
If its more humanistic pursuits you're after, a jump in the car can take you a few miles down the road to Chequesset Yacht and Country Club, which is a fancy name for a very low key public golf course that is open mostly year round and has some nice water views from the course. Or swing over to the Beachcomber at Cahoon Hollow Beach and hear some live music, eat some famous Wellfleet oysters, and revel with the beach crowd. However you choose to spend your time in Wellfleet, you will keep a part of it with you long after you're vacation is over.

- A very warm, welcoming home. The open floor plan is very conducive to entertaining and maximizes the expansive Bay views. No restaurant or hotel in Wellleet has better waterviews than this house. Two dining tables accommodate up to 14 people (one table for 8 in dining area, and another table with a leaf seats 6 on sun porch). The efficient galley kitchen has double ovens, microwave, dishwasher, lobster pot and crackers. A 'pass through' with a counter has 3 stools, making serving easy and a cozy spot to have breakfast or lunch. No mooring on the beach, but at high tide you can pull a boat up to the shore, load up the family, fishing rods and coolers and take off for boating on the bay. Boat launches in town. Rental Kayaks can be delivered, an ideal way to explore! Drive in movie, mini golf, skate park nearby Note:This is a wonderful house for families, however young children need to be watched on the beach stairs and may not go on dunes. Swimmers may want to wear beach shoes...moreless

Wellfleet is nestled within the National Seashore and is a quaint, New England historical whaling town, only about five miles wide with the Atlantic on one side and Cape Cod Bay on the other. Called the 'Art Gallery' town, Wellfleet has spurned commercialism in favor of maintaining a charming downtown filled with privately owned restaurants, galleries, boutiques, ice cream shops, live theater and a harbor with a boardwalk. It has five ocean beaches, numerous fresh water ponds, and since 61% of its land is protected in the Cape Cod National Seashore Park Wellfleet has retained an unspoiled beauty rarely found these days. Luckily for visitiors there are a multitude of ways to discover Wellfleet by renting kayaks or bikes, boarding a nearby whale watching boat, picnicking at the many beaches and bogie boarding or surfing, or strolling along the downtown streets.
Restaurants in town range from BYOB lobster and clam shacks to New York Times and Gourmet reviewed spots.
