Direct Oceanfront Cottage at Maushop Village with Private Beach

We found this cozy oceanfront cottage to be perfect for our fall get-away to the Cape. The oceanfront location in New Seabury is beautiful and we enjoyed every minute we were there. The cottage was neat and clean and was equipped with everything we needed. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive to our questions before and during our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to book this property again.

After excitedly securing this Cape Cod 'Maushop Cottage' a couple of months prior to our arrival, we would try to envision our vacation on the Cape and what our weekly home would be like. The photos and description seemed amazing; we only hoped it would be as nice as what we expected. When we pulled up to the entrance of the "fairy-tale" like Village of Maushop and then to the drive way of our Vacation home - we were faced with the loveliest Cottage that not only lived up to our expectations, but exceeded them!!! Perfect for beach lovers, the Cottage is just steps to the beach, which is private for owners and renters of Maushop Village. At dusk we would bring our cocktails to the steps that lead to the beach and thoroughly enjoyed the water views from the two landings. Every day and night we were met with the nicest neighbors and kids who greeted us with smiles and warm conversation. If you want to go in to the town center, the "Marketplace", it takes only minutes to drive, or you can opt to walk on a lovely tree lined path which is about a 10 minute stroll to the bustling center. There you can enjoy restaurants and bars, live music, shops, bike and kayak rentals, miniature golf - basically everything you could ask for food and entertainment, as well as activities to enhance your stay. The Cottage itself was immaculately clean, complete with internet access and 2 porches which afforded incredible direct water views. There was every appliance you could ask for in a recently updated fully-equipped kitchen. I would highly recommend this amazing Maushop Village Rental and would most definitely stay there again!! There was a few problems with this place, we didn't attempt to contact the owner to get corrected but we should have. The issues are the following: lower level musty smell, one of the bed's roller was bent made the bed uneven ,the lower sink stopper top was missing, master bedroom fan only runs at full speed, toaster one side didn't work, and air conditioner was not connected unable to get running.

After spending a week in this beautiful, airy, seaside cottage, you'll never want to go home; and, you'll never want to stay anywhere else on the Cape.

The recently renovated 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a small but immaculate galley kitchen is truly a "home-away-from-home." The setup is perfect for families with young children. With an upstairs/downstairs setup, the kids can have the downstairs (basement) to themselves. Older children can have their own space to play games and watch movies. The views of the Nantucket sound are breathtaking. There's even a shuttered picture window in the master bedroom that can be opened to enjoy the sunrise. With two patio areas (both with ocean views), there's plenty of outdoor space for grilling, playing with the kids, or star-gazing with a glass of wine. What's more - this gem is located just steps from a beautiful private beach for Maushop residents & renters, and is a short walk to the Popponeset Marketplace, where you can enjoy live concerts from Thurs to Sunday, drinks and lobster rolls at the raw bar, shopping, ice cream and mini-golf. Note: If traveling with young children, pack a cheap safety gate for the entry to the basement stairs. Crib & baby equipment rental is also available from a service called Auntie Vy's. Enjoy your stay . . . just don't book our week ; )

Alan, we absolutely loved the house! We could not have had a more wonderful stay. Everything was tastefully redone with the look and feel of Cape Cod. Every morning we enjoyed ocean views from the master bedroom, living room and kitchen. We especially liked the views from the master bedroom through the wall of glass. With the shutters open, the view of the ocean, through the living room, was breathtaking.

We spent much time relaxing on the cottage’s two patios while looking out onto the ocean and listening to the waves. On the patio next to the front door, we made good use of the gas barbeque and table/chairs and on the patio off the kitchen, we sunbathed and relaxed on the two lounge chairs. When we had enough sun, we enjoyed meals inside at the large dining room table and kitchen counter.

The house also has all the creature comforts of home including, wireless internet access at a desk by the entrance (with views of the ocean), and flat screen TV’s throughout the house (master bedroom, living room, and guestroom - plus a DVD player in the living room).

Getting away without the kids was much needed and it was awesome having the beach just steps away – it made for some much needed relaxation (except for the vigorous walks by the ocean every day!). The guest room will be perfect for our three kids. We know they will love the cottage as much as we did. This cottage is very special. We cannot wait to go back
