Privacy and Seclusion - Magical Creek Oasis & National Forest
Imagine yourself in the perfect cabin retreat directly on a rushing creek surrounded only by thousands of acres of national forest and hundreds of towering hemlocks.
If you are a nature enthusiast, appreciate complete seclusion and privacy, no other cabins anywhere in sight, this is the place for you.
This is the most special and rare place you will find in the entire area. I have been a realtor in the area for over 20 years and have seen hundreds of places in the mountains over the past 40 years.
This place I'm told by anyone who has visited is incomparable to any and is truly a magical place to experience. I have just now opened it up to select rentals so that it remains a very private, undiscovered location.
The cabin is hidden way back in the woods on a rushing branch of a creek that feeds the Toccoa River less than a mile away. You will have your own private access to hiking trails right out of your doorstep including 18,000 acres of national forest & wilderness which surrounds the cabin.
The creek runs throughout the entire property from the national forest with several cascading waterfalls creating a very loud beautiful sound that is heard as soon as you step out of your car & when you enjoy the carefully placed sitting areas along the water, and most specially, lulling you to sleep. Over 1000 feet of the creek is lit up at night for an incredible scene.
There are also perfect campsite areas all along the creek if you prefer to sleep out in nature.
The location is unbeatable. Right in the heart of the most desirable Aska Adventure Area. You can explore some of the many local adventures within a few miles of the cabin.
Kayak or tube the Toccoa River a half mile away or rent a boat or swim in Lake Blue Ridge (5 miles away), mountain or road bike many spectacular trails and scenic rides directly from the cabin (I offer personal guided tours for hikes or rides).
The cabin has all the creature comforts you need. A completely restored log cabin with two extremely comfortable king beds, all new HVAC, state of the art stainless steel appliances, heart pine floors, outdoor kitchen, custom trim moldings, outdoor large fire pit, huge decks overlooking and right on the rushing creek, and a huge stone open fireplace for building large warm fires.
Once you experience the magic of this very unique property, you will never want to leave and will be repeat guests!

Nice place with relaxing surroundings and easy access to Blue RidgeWe misunderstood the listing slightly, but that worked out fine and we had a great time
We stayed here for our 20th anniversary and it was lovely. Beautiful & peaceful location. Greg was also very accommodating. We would love to come back again!!
My daughter & I wanted to enjoy a few days in the mountains to relax, connect, and rejuvenate our souls.
We absolutely loved everything about Greg’s place.
This cabin exceeded all expectations! It was just perfect for a quiet, relaxing and reconnecting. The lit up creek was beautiful and so was the cabin. Greg was absolutely the best, checking in to make sure everything was up to our expectations.
The property and cabin were amazing. Pictures do not do it justice. Greg was an awesome host and we had everything we needed for our trip. Plenty of hiking areas around the cabin. We did not want to leave. Truely a one-of-a-kind place.
Very nice property secluded from the hustle and bustle. Very nice stream with wildlife. Peaceful getaway. Home is very nicely updated. Everything you could want in a getaway cabin. Can’t wait to go back. Greg let you know he would be there if you needed anything.
This entire property is serenity at its best. From the beautiful landscape to the perfect cabin. The undoubtedly countless hours spent on even the smallest of details are very obvious. If your looking to get away and enjoy a peaceful stay this is it. Gods beauty and splendor at its best. Thanks Greg
Relaxing quiet retreat in a little piece of mountain paradise
Everything was wonderful about this cabin. The location, the surroundings and extra care and effort the Greg has put into the property (i.e. decks by and overhanging the stream, outdoor lighting, fire pit, outdoor grilling area, indorr decor and furnishings, etc). The cabin was well equipped, very clean and perfect for relaxing and enjoying the area. Close to Blue Ridge with good shopping and restaurants. Greg was an excellent host making sure we had everything we needed. We will return again and will definitely recommend it to others. Thanks, Greg.
This is such a beautiful property, and it was exactly what we were looking for to get away from our busy lives and celebrate our anniversary. Greg was such a kind host, the cabin had everything we needed, and the cabin and scenery were beautiful. It was obvious that Greg takes great care in all of the little added touches for the cabin. It was great just to relax near the creek or on the porch swing and watch the leaves fall. The kitchen and outdoor grilling area are well stocked, and the bedrooms and bath were extremely clean and had everything one could possibly need. This was just what we were looking for, and we hated to leave. We will definitely be staying here again! Thank you again, Greg!
The cabin is absolutely perfect! The pictures really don’t do it justice! It’s amazing and extremely private setting perfect to get away from it all! Gregg, the host was absolutely amazing! We’ve stayed in hundreds of cabins and we have never had the host meet us on arrival to go over everything with us or check on us periodically during our stay. It was definitely the cleanest cabin we’ve ever stayed in as well. All the special touches he has put into this place and the attention to detail is simply too much to list here. We will definitely be back!! Thank you, Gregg!!
Nestled right on the border of the state park/forest, the house is built right over the creek. The owner has created multiple sitting areas on the wraparound porch and several places along the creek & provided blankets to sit outside if it's cold (not needed in July!). It's a great place to get away from it all.
Is getting to it the first time in (especially from the Ellijay side and at night) an adventure? Yes. But it adds to the feeling of seclusion, once there. (Hint: Follow the signs for Stanley Creek Lodge until you have 2 green-sign choices, go right and keep going straight -- yes, crossing the property of a large home on the right -- and take a right at the next L-bend, small green sign with the #655 on it.)
Our only regret, other than not booking for longer, was not stopping for groceries on the way in as we didn't want to leave the property once we'd arrived! That said, there are good restaurants within both a 5min and 15-20min drive down Stanley Creek Rd & either into Blue Ridge or Ellijay.
Private,secluded cabin in a scenic setting...with a few surprises
This was the 3rd, and last, cabin we stayed in during our 8-day cabin crawl around Blue Ridge. It was the most private, scenic, peaceful, cleanest, smallest, and most expensive. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of this property. Sitting by the stream for hours was so relaxing! That said, there were a few surprises we weren't told about before arriving that we wish we had known.
First, was the TV. Yes, there is a TV, but what was left out is that there's no cable or ability to access Netflix, or other streaming service. There was just a blue ray player with an assortment of movies. Luckily, we brought our laptop and was able to hook-up that way in the evenings.
Our next issue was with the fireplace. Yes, there is a fireplace, but it was was covered up and had not been prepped for the fall season. That was a huge disappointment! We wouldn't have booked this cabin had we known that ahead of time. We were told we could buy a manufactured log and burn that, but not a wood fire. Since it was covered up from the inside of the house, we weren't about to uncover it. It needed to be inspected to make sure the flue was clear and safe for fires.
Lastly, was the check-out instructions. They're not mentioned in the listing and they weren't sent to us, even after asking. They were simple and straightforward, but with one big surprise. We found out from the instructions posted in the house that we had to take our trash and dispose of it ourselves (+pay) at the recycle facility in Blue Ridge (7mi away). This was a huge inconvenience for us, since we were headed south, but had to go 14mi out of our way to take 1 bag of trash. For the amount we paid per night for this cabin (we stayed 3nts), they shouldn't be asking that of their guests.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. Hopefully, our review will help others in knowing what to expect before booking this cabin.

Hey Scott. I apologize. I usually tell my guests that I will take the trash and from now on taking the Trash will be my responsibility. As for the checkout instructions they were located in a binder that I will make more visible and clear. As for the TV I thought the listing stated there was no satellite / cable. I will definitely go over the Listing and make sure my renter's know that there is no cable or satellite as it is not possible to get satellite or cable to the cabin due to its location in the forest. I will also see what I need to do to make streaming available as I am not very technical minded there. As for the fireplace I am waiting on a new Wood Burning Insert therefore neglected to have it cleaned and ready for this year's fire season. My bad totally. Lastly I take pride in my guests having a great stay and am sorry you were disappointed but everything mentioned will be remedied ASAP!!
The cabin was beautiful, clean and cozy. We enjoyed playing board games by the fire in the evenings. The creek is right outside the door with lots of areas for sitting and enjoying the view and the tranquility. We would definitely stay here again!
This is our 2nd time at this cabin. We really enjoy coming here. It is secluded, quiet and peaceful. There is internet and a tv with dvds to watch movies, but no cable, satellite, etc. If you're coming here to watch tv, you're in the wrong place. The surrounding property is spectacular with a roaring stream right beside the cabin that provides constant relaxing sound. You're about 15-20 minutes from Blue Ridge, so you have food and shopping options. Love it here!
We've never stayed in such a wonderful, peaceful location. Greg thought of every detail to make our stay a wonderful experience. The attention to detail in every aspect of the cabin is superb!
Beautiful cabin in a remote setting! Gorgeous creek with falls runs the length of the property. The owner has landscaped and lighted the creek for enjoyment during the evening and night hours with numerous decks and seating areas to enjoy from every angle. The cabin has been renovated beautifully and is a wonderful, serene location. We enjoyed our stay so much and will definitely return!!
This was the perfect location for peace and serenity. If you go, you will love it and never want to leave! Owner is fantastic and has thought of everything.
Just far enough off the big road and a beautiful drive. The sounds of the running creek right off the porch let us know we found just what we were hoping for. As much or as little hiking as you like can be done right from the cabin. Much thought, care and hard work has gone into making this cabin cozy and comfortable. Most definitely a place to revisit!

About the host

I am a realtor in the North Georgia Mountains & love helping others find their dream place in the mountains.
Why they chose this property
The Aska Adventure area is a nature and outdoor lovers paradise. The Toccoa River is less than a mile away where you can kayak, tube, fish and swim. Lake Blue Ridge is nearby for boating, rentals available, jet skiing, and swimming. Mountain biking and road cycling is the best you will find anywhere outside of Colorado. It is THE place for outdoor athletics, scenic hikes or solitude. A high clearance vehicle is recommended.
What makes this property unique
The uniqueness of this property cannot be described, it must be experienced. I have been fortunate over the past 10 years to preview hundreds of mountain properties in this area as a realtor, and had my eye on this special cabin for years. I am just now making it available for rentals and keep great care of the place and its surroundings. You will have ultimate privacy. You will not see or hear anyone, just the cascading sounds of the creek, the birds, and the wind.
