We were fortunate enough to stay in this emaculate home for a week. My husband had a Conference at the Marriott and We usually stayed there, which is a lot more expensive and Our room didn't even have a microwave. We just didn't know what We were missing. This home has everything anyone could possibly need and more. Our grandchildren loved the pool and lagoon. And We loved the privacy. When we wanted to go to the beach- We just made a phone call and We were picked up in a few minutes every time. If We needed to know where to eat or shop, all We had to do was call Matt or Elaine. They are the nicest people ,You would ever want to meet. This home is beautifully decorated and the beds are very comfortable, which means a lot when You have back trouble. We enjoyed bike rides through the beautiful neighborhood and grilling out by the pool. The family really enjoyed the kayak rides. This was a perfect family vacation home away from home. I would recommend it to all my friends and family.

Best Thanksgiving Ever

  • 5 of 5

We just returned and will remember this trip forever. My husband and I arrived a day before our three adult children tricked in with their children, significant others, and dogs. We cooked a wonderful holiday dinner in the well stocked kitchen. I have never rented a house or condo that had so much provided. Even some of the spices. A lot of what we purchased at the store, we found in the cabinets. The boys, young and old, could not seem to pull themselves away from the lake out back. But, they caught a lot of bass that we enjoyed eating.

Since it has been way too many years since I have ridden a bike, I was hesitant to rent one. Since four were provided at the house, I gave it a try. I had so much fun riding that I cancelled some of my plans to do more bicycling. This turned out to be a high lite of the trip. Between the bikes and the fishing we were so content and entertained. Oh, and I forgot to mention the kayak there that was a first experience for some.

I highly recommend this house for your next vacation.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you had such a good time over Thanksgiving. We would love to be there with our own family but could not so we are especially happy that your family enjoyed the house so much. We have never heard of anyone catching so many fish from the lake, they must be expert fishermen. Come back!

Owner's Response: Hi, Lou and Becky! It was a pleasure to have all of you with River, Trouper and Mr. B. Thanks for leaving the house absolutely clean. When we got there for cleaning, there was not much to do. Almost seemed as if no one was even there for the week. Hope to see you and those dogs again. Thanks! Matt & Elaine

The perfect Getaway vacation " Southern Hospitality at its best"

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had the privilege to stay at Matt and Elaine's home in March of 2014. It was and is absolutely perfect. The property is beautifully appointed and the homes is well maintained. exceptionally well equipped and clean.

Matt and Elaine are the perfect hosts, if you check in the dictionary under Southern Hospitality, their photographs should be there. They helped made our vacation very special.

Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

This was a great house for our crew - 4 adults, 3 teen boys and 2 retrievers. It didn't feel like a rental - it was like staying in the home of a family member!

The 4 beach bikes (plus our 3) were in constant use. Chaplin Park is ~1 mile away and the boys could ride over to the basketball courts. We all rode on both the bike paths and the beach - it was great!

The guys kayaked in the lagoon- and found Amadeaus the Alligator sunning himself on the far end. Back at the house the lagoon was turtle central, after accidentally hooking one the boys went across the street and fished turtle free.

For the beach we strapped our backpack beach chairs on our backs and took the shaded ride to the beach (less than a mile). The beach was wide and uncrowded. One day we used the owners pass and drove to the beach, setting up shop in front of the dunes house restaurant. So beach-wise we had the best of both worlds.

Back at the house, the boys set up the Xbox in the den - so it was great to have two separate living areas. The kitchen was well supplied with cookware, some basic spices and cleaning supplies. Made for an easy week. (also the new huge Kroger made grocery shopping a breeze - and their wine selection rivaled the best wine shops in Atlanta.) There was plenty of seating in the dining area, patio/pool area and living room.

It was also a great set up for our dogs. We'd walk them on the beach every morning - invariably they'd go swimming and be salty dogs by the end of the walk. There was a hose out back for washing them off and a screened porch for them to hang out in until they were dry.

The only thing we didn't use was the pool - the weather just wasnt quite warm enough - so we have something to look forward to on our next visit.

Thanks Matt and Elaine - we will be back and we'll tell all of our friends to make your house their home base in Hilton Head!

A little piece of Paradise.

We are going on our 11th summer at this wonderful rental. I think that kind of sums up how we feel about this home and the very accommodating owners. They have thought of everything and are always available should the need arise. (which it never has) We feel so "at home" here. Our favorite spot is out back, relaxing at the pool and enjoying all the wildlife. This is a truly fantastic vacation home.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your lovely comments, you are like family to us. We look forward to your visit every June. The Lantana in the back is always blooming and you and your girls are delightful. We are fortunate to have such wonderful renters that keep coming back and treat our home as if it was their own.
