We are fully booked for the summer of 2017. This is an Architect's home, reminiscent of a New England farmhouse, with a mesmerizing view of Lake Winnipesaukee. The view is south to Gunstock Mountain. The waterfront has a low stone wall and a sandy bottom with crystal clear water. The dock is a new 40' x 6' U shaped with a wooden deck area for sitting and plenty of room for water sports. There has been new wall work in conjunction with the new dock - more photos to come! There is a firepit near the waters edge for toasting marshmallows and watching the moon rise.
The over sized screened porch with adjacent stone terrace provide ample opportunity for lounging and leisurely family meals. The family room has french doors to the terrace with a cozy fireplace and game table. The country kitchen/ dining area is flooded with light from the skylights and features an over sized granite island and 6 burner Viking range.
The living room has a home theater with a flat screen TV. The library has a sleeper sofa for overflow guests and there is a full bath on the first floor as well.
The second floor has a master suite with a marble bath and sitting area and two other bedrooms with baths and queen beds. There is also an over sized bonus room with 3 twin beds and 2 trundle beds. This room is a child's delight- with bright colors and a cozy play area.
The bedroom views overlooking the lake are truly special. The home is decorated with designer touches including antique and new furniture.

We fell in love with this area when we drove through the pretty town of Meredith a couple of years ago. We decided to look a little more deeply and rented a home in Cummings Cove on Lake Winnipesaukee with our family. After spending the week there we knew it was a special place. The combination of the fabulous views and protected swimming and kayaking areas was just what we were looking for. It is also convenient to town. We love the local hiking up steep granite faces of the surrounding mountains. These trails provide amazing views of Winnipesaukee and Squam Lakes. There is so much to do in the area - we just can't get enough.
Catherine Knight purchased this house in 2009
We have four kayaks available to explore the area. There is a preserved island (Stonedam Island) a short paddle away that offers hiking and nature trails.
The house is set up to accommodate a multi generational family. From the open kitchen to share meal prep to the luxurious master suite and green lawn and wide steps to the water- we offer comfort and fun for all ages. A new dock was installed in 2016 for more play area around the water.
"Our week was just great. My husband did have to work the first half of the week but he camped out at the desk in the master bedroom and still had that beautiful view, I don't mean to gush but we loved your house so much. We have rented houses up and down the east coast and in the Caribbean and we all voted yours the best, most suited to our family."
A great waterfront and an architect’s house…..what could be better? This home is a combination of elegance, comfort, and ingenious use of space. There are multiple gathering spots to afford simultaneous puzzle construction and a game of Risk in the family room, enjoy a cup or coffee (or a margarita) in the spacious kitchen or comfortable outdoor space beyond the three sets of French doors, or nap under the overhead fans in the hurricane lamp-lit screened-in porch. We became fascinated with finding all of the space efficiencies in the home including the in-island microwave drawer, the tucked away mixing bowl, and an entire closet of cookware. The light-flooded kitchen worthy of being a Food Network set easily seats 10 (we are 2 families of 4 and grandparents) and inspired meals with the cast-iron skillet (blueberry and peach cobbler) and array of cookware. The light and airy bedrooms are all upstairs and cozy; the master suite is uncommonly posh…elegantly luxurious. Outdoors, artistry is present with a wrought iron railing attached to the boulders to assist water entry via stone steps into the lake. There is colorful landscaping, a yard to throw a football and a new u-shaped dock. The navigation of docking takes some skill but is clearly marked in the owner home manual. There are multiple kayaks, life-jackets as well as water skis and a tow rope so you don’t have to rent those along with a motor boat. Owners, Cathy and Denny, clearly have a passion for the outdoors with a hiking/biking library (efficiently stored by the fireplace), and a love of family and good times. They are immediately responsive to questions and the home owner’s manual is full of local tips. I hesitate to share this gem, but there is no better spot to rejuvenate and connect with friends and family---just don’t take our week!
This incredibly designed home exceeded our expectations in every way. The photos of the property are lovely, but the attention to detail in each and every room and the backyard/dock can't possibly be captured by a camera. The house flows wonderfully, allowing for great family gatherings or quiet time alone, depending on the needs of the group or time of day. The furnishings are top of the line, yet also very comfortable and not at all stuffy. The kitchen was such a delight to cook in, with top-notch appliances (loved the Viking Stove/oven) and a huge island for prep and good company. We loved eating in the lovely screened-in porch after grilling on the gourmet Weber grill after a fun day on the water. [**We rented a motor boat at Meredith Marina, where they were very helpful. We brought our own knee board and tube, FYI.] The kayaks and great dock, along with our own paddle boards, were used daily to traverse the quiet cove -- but it was an easy jaunt by boat or road to Meredith for good food and quaint shops. Our kids liked the Town Dock (nothing fancy, but fun outdoor eating) while the grownups enjoyed a dinner out at Lago.
The beds and bathrooms were outstanding. Very comfy beds, the best towels and gorgeous bathrooms, amazing views.
The owners were very helpful and responsive to questions, and the house comes with great instructions and advice.
The only drawback was having to leave after a wonderful week. We hope to be back!!!!
We stayed at this incredible home for over one week during the summer. The photos are incredibly insufficient - THIS HOME IS EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL! We had a chef prepare our meals and we dined on in the enclosed patio overlooking the lake. The home hosts extended families so well due to the multiple living spaces. We had 9 adults and 2 children and the home never felt crowded. We used the kayaks daily and felt close enough to town that we could quickly get to a grocery store or go for coffee. I cannot recommend this home more.
We have rented many homes for our three generation family vacation. This thoughtfully appointed, well-maintained, inviting, spacious home tops the list. We made good use of the multiple spaces for relaxing and visiting, and appreciated the chef's kitchen, lovely landscaping, and inviting screen porch. The lake views are even more spectacular than the photos suggest and the quiet cove is perfect for cannon balls off the dock, swimming (even for 5 and 7 year olds!), and fishing. We spent many hours water skiing and tubing on the smooth uncrowded water just beyond Hen Island. Other pluses--quick boat ride to Meredith for dinner or ice cream, peaceful anchorage on the far side of Stonedam Island for swimming and fishing (the 13 year olds caught several 10" large mouth bass) and easy access to a wide range of hiking opportunities in the Kancamagus area. We are already hoping to rent this gracious home again! Thank you Cathy and Don for sharing your lovely home with us. Your pride of ownership is obvious.
My family (5 adults, 1 toddler) and I just returned from a glorious week at this spectacular lakefront home. We have rented several other homes on the lake but this was by far the best. It was a pleasure waking up each morning to the stunning views of the lake from almost every room. The home is tastefully decorated, comfortable, immaculate and equipped with the finest of everything. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The lakefront yard was perfect for lawn games and especially conducive for our two year old. There was even a lakefront sandbox! We rented a pontoon boat for the week and enjoyed fishing and rides around the lake. Kayaks were supplied by the owner and it is a perfect and quiet area for kayaking. We especially enjoyed the proximity to Meredith and made many trips back and forth in minutes. I am not surprised that each reviewer has had the same experience as our family. If you are looking for the perfect lake vacation, this is the place for you!!!!
What a fabulous house this was for my family. The house was beautifully decorated and fully equipped and well maintained. Between the sitting room, the TV room, the screened in porch there was plenty of space for a big family. My favorite spot, however, was by the fire pit. Cummings Cove was a perfect spot for water skiing and tubing. It was away from the busy boat traffic but only a short boat ride into downtown Meredith, or a cruise around Governor's Island. There was so much to do such as kayaking and paddleboarding. The yard was great for playing bocci or KanJam. Biking around the neighborhood was also quiet with very little road traffic. I can't say enough great things things about this lakefront home!!! Thank you to the owners for a fabulous week!
