Comfy condo with a nice view
The condo was just as advertised and perfect for the 2 of us. The map in VRBO however, has the location much closer to Tahoe City than it is. Zoom in and scroll north to see where Chinquapin is, past Dollar Point.
Roomy bedroom and master bath, kitchen is well equipped, TV in living room and bedroom. Heater and fireplace work well and there are extra wall heaters in the bathrooms. No covered parking, which would be nice in the winter.
The view is stunning.
This place is even better in person. The loacation and condo are perfect for a ski weekend. Kids loved walking down to the lake.
Better than pictures
Very spacious and comfortable. Beautiful views.
Lovely location close to Tahoe City
To begin with the check-in staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect. Convenient to Kings Beach, beautiful Sand Beach, stateline casinos and Tahoe City. This upstairs unit had a lovely view of Lake Tahoe. Perhaps most important, the bed was comfortable and large! The space is plenty ample for 2 pp and I enjoyed having a separate bathroom and shower. Shower and water pressure were very good. Parking is easy, the kitchen large and overall, the unit was very comfortable.
There is only a sauna available during winter months, which I did not visit.
Two things you need to know when you check-in to this unit.
#1. How to operate the gas fireplace. The pilot light should be lit, but what I did not know is the fireplace is activated by the thermostat. Turn the heat on and the fireplace is lit. The flame effect is is a bit on the minimal side. Small gripe. Not important.
#2. How to operate the television. I believe there are 3 controllers. Sound system. DVD and flatscreen. The television controller is large and can be confusing. The secret is to turn on cable, then turn on television. The TV takes a few seconds to turn on.
There should have been instructions in the unit for operating the gas fireplace and television. The wifi password is clearly marked.
Great space to stay in. I would recommend any time of year. You may never want to leave. J&C
Gil's place is wonderful. Even better looking than the pictures online.
We will be back.
We will be back!
We had a wonderful time at the condo. The views are unequaled, the furniture and bed super comfy and we didn't lack for a thing. We walked the entire shoreline on a lovely paved and boardwalk path, hung out at the dock, played a little pickle ball and some horseshoes. NO ONE else seemed to be there. We felt like the King and Queen of Tahoe. Thank you Gil for sharing your perfect snugly getaway. We are planning our next visit!
