About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + living room, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-5) in the historic center

Exclusive apartment in the heart of Rome just a stones throw away from the Coliseum, Roman Forum, Mouth of Truth, and all the major important historical sites.

The property is within walking distance to Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori and across the Tiber river to enchanting Trastevere, famous for its narrow streets and cozy restaurants.

The location simply could not be better as the area is one of the most famous and picturesque of the historical center, surrounded by archaeological sites, artisan and antique shops, theatres, traditional bakeries, colourful markets, designer stores, boutiques, restaurants, typical Italian cafes and winebars where you can flip away your tiredness over a good glass of wine.

Only a couple of blocks away, there is a colorful, large open market and every morning can be found fine food, fresh produce, fruit, vegetables, wine, cheese and wonderful bread.

The apartment has been newly renovated to offer elegance, comfort and convenience to the most desirable attractions of the city center.

The property is on the first floor of a 19th century historic building. After a day's sightseeing in the noise of a busy city, this is a great place to come home to. Walking through the main doors (off the street) into a lush garden full of trees and flowers, is such a pleasant surprise. Coming back here, in this oasis sheltered from the hustle and bustle, at the end of a long day gives you an instant sense of peace. The quiet found inside is unusual for this lively section of Rome. During the day, a security guard is present by the front gate. In addition to the gate (locked after dark), there are locked doors for both the complex and the apartment.

Fully renewed, it is tastefully furnished with fine modern fittings and the same remarkable equipment. Elegantly appointed with artistic and decorative features as beautiful pictures and mirrors, exclusive tapestries, cozy sofas, modern sliding doors, lamps, large wooden walk-in wardrobe.

The apartment has a very warm atmosphere. It has an entrance that leads to a bright living-room, a dining area with american kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. The sofa is a comfortable sofa-bed (King size, excellent quality), there is also a single bed. The kitchen has all modern fittings and it is fully equipped with all necessary cooking supplies.

The apartment has every comforts: air conditioned, autonomous heating, Satellite TV, flatscreen TV, FREE WIFI internet, washing machine, telephone, safety box, radio, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, Bed linen and blankets, bath towels and table linen provided.

Just a few meters from the property you'll find the famous mediaeval basilica church Santa Maria in Cosmedin (or de Schola Graeca). The church was built in the 6th century over the remains of the Templum Herculis Pompeiani in the Forum Boarium and Its bell tower is the tallest medieval belfry in Rome. In the porch of this mediaeval Church, on the south side, there is one of Rome's symbols, the so-called 'Bocca della Verita' Mouth of Truth that draws many visitors: this is a large round stone, with a grotesque face in relief with holes through the eyes and the nose, and a larger opening for the mouth.

While in Rome you may like to re-enact the scene in the film Roman Holiday and put your hand over the Bocca della Verità or Mouth of Truth which hangs in the portico of the Church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. If a jealous lover wanted to test their partner’s fidelity, they would put their hand in the mouth of the stone river god - it was thought that a liar would have his hand bitten off but the faithful lover would go untouched.

And this 'test' is still a must for all tourists and the queue of visitors stretched right down the street, for to have their photo taken with their hand in the mouth of the statue.

It’s a fun thing to do though and everyone seemed to emerge with their arm intact - why not give it a try?

About Vera

Italy is a country full of glittering treasures and Rome is its brightest jewels. I am delighted to be able to offer a comfortable and beautiful ambiance to my guests. Every amenity and comfort is well thought out and we make sure that the apartment is clean and in excellent condition at all times. I take pride in meeting the needs of my traveling friends while helping to make their stay in Rome a memorable one. It is important to me to put the needs and comfort of my guests first and I am honored to say that this is gratefully reflected back to me through referrals and returning guests. My apartment is truly a 'home away from home'.

Vera purchased this apartment in 2000

Why Vera chose Colosseo Foro Romano (Coliseum & Roman Forum)

The location simply could not be better as the area is one of the most famous and picturesque of the historical center, surrounded by archaeological sites, artisan and antique shops, theatres, traditional bakeries (15 meters from the apartment), colourful markets, designer stores, boutiques, restaurants (10 meters from the apartment), typical Italian cafes and wine bars (10 meters from the apartment),..

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is right in the historic centre of Rome and from here you can walk to every important interesting point without public transport. However the apartment is very conveniently connected to any city landmark and to Airport by fast and efficient public transportation ( both buses and subway ) and you will enjoy the real Italian style everyday life.

Upon request you can book a transfer from and for Fiumicino or Ciampino

airports with our chauffeur driven transfer.

You can request the service by sending us an e-mail including your flight

Fantastic location for an unforgettable holiday in Rome!

The entire apartment is for your own use.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband and I and our 13 year old daughter stayed here for 5 days in september 2010. We found the flat really delightful, beautifully appointed and equipped, quiet and close to everything. It was very clean and well maintained, the beds were comfy and the kitchen well equipped. It was also great to have Wi-fi internet and a washing machine! We highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Rome.

Comfortable and quiet

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very clean and well kept. Our host went very attentive to our needs and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

This apartment was within walking distant to all the major site and many good restaurants.

Lovely, Modern, spotless

  • 5 of 5

Have been here for 2 weeks in Spring 2017. The apartment is well appointed, very tastefully decorated and everything worked well (including WLAN). The neighborhood is probably the best you can find in Rome. There is no traffic noise. Vera provides extensive information (in English) on the area and for all appliances. She also stocked the fridge with some items and even an Easter present. Vera is very reliable, was easy to work with and organized our transfers from/to the airport. Both a tram stop and a bus stop can be reached within 2 mins. For our next time in Rome, will definitely return to Vera's apartment.

Really enjoyed this apartment!!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful 7 nights in Rome and enjoyed every moment of it! We had the chauffeur pick us up at the airport as Vera had offered and it went without a hitch! We were so glad we had decided on this instead of having to navigate the buses when we first got there. Alina was there waiting for us when we arrived to show us around, give us the keys and instructions. She was very sweet and helpful. She was a little hard to understand as she is from the Ukraine but let me tell you, she speaks better English than I speak Ukrainian! She was great to leave us her cell phone number and told us to text her any time if we needed help, etc.

The apartment was really great and it was everything that we needed. It was just my husband and I celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We had plenty of room, plenty of closet space, the kitchen was great as my husband cooked breakfast for us every morning. The bed was quite comfortable and we slept really well as the area around the complex is pretty quiet. The shutters on the windows allow you to darken the place so sleeping was not an issue at all. The WiFi worked great, as did the hot water and there was good water pressure in the shower. We did have to fiddle with the shower head to get it to stay put so it didn't just spray along the back wall and one of the handles to the shower door was loose. My husband tried to fix it (he's an airplane mechanic) but he didn't have an Allen wrench and it was corroded. No big deal though.

The place was very bright and cheery and we always felt like we were coming "home" at the end of each long day of sight-seeing. The location was perfect as there is a bus stop just across the street so that made it very convenient. Also there are so many little restaurants, gelato and pizza places, and stores all around so it was very convenient to stop by the small supermarket to pick up a few things. We were able to wash clothes too so that was nice, however there is no dryer but a drying rack is provided (1st world problems ;) We felt very safe walking around the side streets, day and night.

The chauffeur and Alina were right on time when it came time for us to depart so that was really nice. All in all, our trip was amazing and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Rome. I held back 1 star as I would have liked the place to be a little cleaner but a family had just left that morning so the turn-around time was pretty quick.

Great location for Family!!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 including two kids absolutely loved this gem of a flat in Rome. Veruska thinks of everything to make his place perfect in every way. The location is perfect for touring. So close to the main attractions and the metro with lots of great local cafes. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area ranging from pizza or quick meals to an exquisite dinner. At the end of the block there is an excellent bakery that serves Continental breakfasts. There is also a park around the corner for the 4 and 7 years old to play and for us to have lunch outside. Everything in the home is top quality from the most comfortable bed and pullout couch to the linens and appliances. Veruska was the perfect host and we were so glad we chose to have the chauffeur pick us up at the airport. We hope we can return again.

Fabulous holiday in the heart of Rome!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at Veruska's condo and found it to be beautifully furnished, absolutely clean, and very comfortable. In fact, the bed was the most comfortable bed we slept in during our stay in Italy! In addition, the neighborhood offers many nice restaurants and wine bars within convenient walking distance. Veruska was so helpful in many ways....including helping us find the right place to check in for our flight home (we found the Rome airport to be very confusing). Veruska has put together a big resource binder for guests that we used several times while staying there. I highly recommend this apartment. I would certainly come back and stay here again in my future travels. Thank you, Veruska, for making our stay safe and memorable.

Excellent location, beautiful apartment, everything you need

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to call home for our 6 days in Rome. The apartment was cosy and had all we needed (toilet paper, dish soap, other necessities). After our apartment in Florence, which offered a single saucepan as its cooking supplies, I was thrilled to find a really well-stocked kitchen with plenty of plates, pots, pans, and also staples, like olive oil and salt.

The location is great and you can walk to anywhere you want. Nearly everything you want to see in Rome is within easy walking distance: the Colosseum, Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, all just minutes away. The apartment is located in a comfortable, extremely safe neighborhood populated with cafes, restaurants and shops. The owner was very helpful in any way we needed and let us store our luggage all day on Sunday. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and will make every effort to stay there again when I return to the magical world of Rome. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
