About this property

Walk to Gaudi's Buildings - High Ceilings

Description of the apartment -
· Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with a glass-enclosed balcony on the 5th floor of an 100-year-old Art Nouveau building, renovated outside and inside. The floors are still the original colorful mosaic, and the ceilings are 9 feet high. There is an elevator, air conditioning, central heating, and a full kitchen with granite countertop, pots & pans, dishes, etc. One full bathroom with toilet, sink, and half-tub with shower. The living room has a dining table and chairs, a sofa, a 21-inch TV, DVDs, etc. You can see the tips of La Sagrada Familia from the enclosed balcony.
The apartment fits one to four although an occupancy of three-maximum four would be the ideal for the size.

In case your dates are not available in this apartment, we have seven other 2 bedroom apartments in the same building. Please see our other VRBO ads or our website.

Description of location -
· The apartment is located in the beautiful Eixample, halfway between Gaudi's La Pedrera (also known as Casa Milà) on the Passeig de Gracia, and Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, just a ten-minute walk from either one. Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló are at the same short distance as well. The Eixample district has the most beautiful Art Nouveau architecture in the city dating from the last half of the XIX century.
There are many cafes, restaurants, tapas bars, and shops in the neighborhood also. The 115-year-old Market of La Concepció, where you can do your grocery shopping in a traditional setting, is just 200 meters from the apartment. This market has fresh meat, fruits & vegetables, cheeses, etc. as well as a florist and a grocery store with a good selection of local wines.
The Eixample is recommended as a convenient location to see all the different sights around the city, but not as crowded as the Old City. You can get a taste of real local life.

Transportation -
· There is a bus stop on the corner right by the apartment that will take you to almost all the places of interest in the city, if you don't feel like walking. The city buses are nice and modern, and run often. The apartment is also less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station of Verdaguer, on both the yellow and blue lines. The upscale shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, is just 1 stop away, though you can easily walk there from the apartment. Plaza Catalunya (the very center of the city and also walkable) and the start of Las Ramblas is just a 6 minute metro ride away, and the beaches are just a 10 minute ride. There is also a parking garage close to the apartment, although renting a car in Barcelona is not recommended.

About the management -
· We are a family company and we manage our own holiday apartments or furnished homes in three cities: 25 in Barcelona (Spain), 6 in Istanbul (Turkey) and 2 in Dallas (Texas, US)

Wonderful Apartment Close to all Attractions
We stayed for 6 nights while in Barcelona. The apartment is in a secure building within walking distance to the major attractions in the city including Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, Casa Batilla, Arch de Triumph, La Ramblas, El Born and many more. The apartment is on the 3rd floor with a peak view of the Sagrada Familia from the terrace. The kitchen is small but functional. The bathroom is very small. If you're tall the toilet and shower may be difficult to navigate! Comfortable and clean even though the building is well over 100 years old. We enjoyed the restaurants in the area and the night life that never seems to end. Very enjoyable first trip to Barcelona. Would stay here again if we are able to return.

Great location, cold AC. Good for small family.
We had a wonderful stay here. The check in process was very convenient. Slight odor when you first walk in. Other than that, no complaints.

Good experience
Three location was good. There were good restaurants and bars in the area. The online pictures show a bright living space. We found it darker than depicted although that did not affect the stay.

Pleasant apartment in great location
This apartment was much better than reviews here would have you think. It was clean, spacious, sunny, private, quiet, well located and had plenty of heat and hot water. Communication with the agent was quick via WhatsApp. A few things could have been a bit better: 1) the strange odor when entering the apartment. This was caused by an "air freshener" in the bathroom. We removed it and put it on the balcony. Air was fine from then on. 2) check in instructions arrived only the afternoon before our arrival. The wait caused a bit of anxiety, but once it came the instructions were clear and check in was easy. 3) heat was at first confusing. The radiators were not working but we finally figured out that the heating system is hot air and is controlled by a remote on the wall. Once we figured that out heating was more that fine. 4) it would have been nice to have the bath gel provided. We had to go out and buy our own. 5) the main bed is really two single beds moved together. At times they moved a bit apart and had to be moved together. 6) the toilet is close agains the wall, so if you are tall this might be a bit uncomfortable. We managed fine. But these are relatively minor quibbles. The apartment is a relatively good value for the money. We felt pretty comfortable there.

Great location
Apartment worked well for 2 people. Spacious overall except the bathroom and kitchen are very small. Tiled floors looked original--which I grew to appreciate. Has a safe for valuables. Loved the location with easy walking to sights (as well as to metro/bus). Loved the enclosed balcony which had a bit of view of the Sagrada Familia. Balcony had windows that open for fresh air. Rooftop terrace is very nice. Great to have an elevator and easy self check-in!

Thank you so very much! We loved this apartment and it was just a perfect urban experience; remember to bring ear plugs because the street noise continues through the night!

Easy Access to Metro
The apartment has everything needed for a great stay in Barcelona. It was a little noisy, but the location is great for using the Metro. The managers were accommodating and allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours on check out day.

We were just a few blocks from the Sagrada Familia and could see it from the rooftop lit up at night. The place could use better towels and linens. Hot water and water pressure was great.

Nice, clean condo
The condo is very clean, close to La Sagrada Familia, about 15 min walk. La Pedrera house about 20 min. It is in a quiet neighborhood. If you like to shop, then it is little farther from major shopping areas, unless you don't mind to walk about 25 min to La Rambla. The owner's and management very accomodating and responsive to all our questions and requests.

Perfect location to Explore Barcelona
The communication and arrival instructions were so very easy! The apartment has a great elevator to carry luggage and yourself up if you do not feel like walking stairs. Building and surround area is clean and centrally located. We felt very safe walking everywhere. Great food places on left side of Joan Arc walking down to the Arc de Triumph! Also, FatTire Tours (bicycle) are great!you can get an e-bike for additional 10 Euro on tour. Apartment was comfortable and clean. Apartment is minimal and looked larger in the pictures . The beds were ok but the main bedroom large bed is actually two single beds that slide apart when sleeping on them. It only came with a large blanket which was too small when beds pulled apart. I would offer additional towels as only 1 per person was provided and could use an extra. Also, a fan would have been very nice to have as we could not get A/C to work. Thank you again.

Great location
The property is located in a central Location and all tourist attractions are a short cab ride away. Nice natural light and decent decor. Although street is noisy the 4th floor makes it less so, the balcony has glass windows that can be closed to reduce noise. We stayed for 4 days, and we thought they could have provided more basic stuff like toilet paper- we had to buy some on the last day, also some shampoo and bath soap would have been nice. There is a washer dryer but no dishwasher so we had to hand wash everything. The instructions also asked us to wash all dishes and take trash to the other side of the road on the last day so allow some time for that. I thought that the bed was just ok, the sheets could have been nicer. The apartment was fairly clean but we still found a couple of items left by the previous people. There is a nice rooftop terrace that will be great in the summer evenings. There is an elevator in the building so we did not have to lug up our bags up 4 floors. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment for 2-3 people. Apartment can fit 4-5 people but there is only one bathroom and it is really tiny, barely any place to stand in there so be aware.

Quaint, close to everything
I loved my stay at this apartment in Barcelona. It's a close walk to attractions like La Sagrada Familia, Gothic Quarter, and Arc de Triomf. It's also close to bus lines and easy to get a cab to anywhere in the city. There are also great restaurants and bars nearby. The apartment was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the enclosed balcony since it's still pretty cool in the evenings. I'm a woman who visited Barcelona alone and the apartment and building were very safe and secure. The tub was very small and some instructions on how to use the washing machine/dryer would have been helpful, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will book again on my next visit to Barcelona.

Perfect in every way!
Perfect location, close to everything, especially Sagrada Familia that we went back twice to see it. We walked all over Barcelona from the apartment including Park Guell which was about 30 mins and Las Ramblas. The apartment was cozy and clean. The owner and staff were very responsive and accomodating. There are many nice and local restaurants and boutiques within 3 minute walk of the apartment. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

A fantastic apartment; great location, close to everything that makes Barcelona a great city.
We were so pleased with the apartment. From the very beginning, our communication with Lauren and Fernando Negre was personable and timely. They answered all of our pre-trip questions and their greeter was so responsive to our needs. The apartment is located in a community, not the tourist section of town. It was a quick walk to Metro and bus lines that took us all over the city. Our greeter met us when we arrived, made sure we were comfortable in the apartment, and pointed out the local grocery store and other conveniences as well as places of interest in Barcelona. There were 3 of us in the apartment and we never felt crowded. The small Juliet balcony gave us a view of the city streets, and the common room was just the right size. We were on the fifth floor and never was bothered by street noise. The "gem" of the apartment was the rooftop with its panoramic views of the city. There were a number of tables and chairs in various corners of the roof. Lucky for us, there was a full moon during our stay so we spent the evenings on the roof enjoying some wine and a spectacular view. When I return to Barcelona I intend to stay at one of Lauren and Fernando's properties. I would give a rating higher than 5 stars if there was one. Thank you Lauren and Fernando for making us feel welcome during our time in Barcelona.

Great service from host, apartment pretty good
We really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona. The host was helpful when I needed to call for questions but the cleaning person is who really stood out. She came by when we couldn't get the washing machine to work. She couldn't either but offered to do my laundry for me. Thats what I call outstanding service! The apartment is in a great location but could use some updating, especially the living room rug. Bathroom very small. Master bedroom gets street noise but the smaller bedroom was nice and quiet.

Great location...could be awesome....needs a little love
First, the positive--Location just couldn't really be better. Less than 10 minutes walk to La Sagrada Familia, longer to Las Ramblas, not too far from the Gothic Quarter, near food and drink and wonderful bakeries. Very close to Passeig de Sant Joan, a major artery. On a reasonably busy street, but not noisy at all. The air con worked great. The washer/dryer worked fine, although instructions on how to use it would be appreciated. We've never used an all in one device and figuring out how to use the dryer was comical. The mosaic tile floor was worn, but beautiful. On the downside, the unit felt tired--like it needed a thorough deep cleaning, about $500 worth of renovation and a little love. Although it was perfectly suitable, the pictures make it look nicer than we found it to be. The bathroom, and especially the bathtub is TINY! I've been in RVs with larger bathtubs. Would be far better if it were just a shower. Getting in and out of the tub was kind of scary. Also, the shower wand had the wrong holder, so water sprayed onto the front of the tub and leaked out the front of the tub. A pipe running across the front of the shower prevented us from sealing the curtain against the wall. We rigged the wand (with a razor cover) so that it didn't flood the floor, but should we have to? The correct holder and a shut off valve would make it much better. Towels were miserably scratchy. The kitchen was also tiny (expected), and not equipped to cook (unexpected). Minimal supply of old, ratty pans and few utensils. Olive oil in an old greasy container gave me no confidence that it (or any of the spices) was usable. The Master bed was two twins pushed together, with a seam in the middle (not uncommon in Spain we found, but not fun). The drapes hung onto the floor and felt forlorn. Various light bulbs were burned out. No one ever met us; we handled access by phone. Although this worked fine for us, some human contact (and a brief orientation to the area) would have been appreciated. Would I stay here again? For the location, absolutely. With a minimal amount of investment and a deep cleaning, absolutely. I loved the city, the building, the location, and the unit itself could be beautiful. It just needs a little TLC.

Great Location
The suite is in a perfect location, short walk to the Metro and Sagrada Familia. Lots of shops and restaurants right in the neighborhood. The suite itself is compact but has everything. Its great for a couple, would be manageable for a family with small kids but not for 2 couples. If you are over 6' tall you will probably have to sit side saddle on the toilet to avoid hitting your head on the wall. Never met the greeter, just did the check in over the phone which worked out fine.
