Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for sharing the cottage with us!

The photos don't do it justice!! (As you already know, we have booked again for later this summer- and I'm quite sure in the fall as well..)

The memories made will never be forgotten - trying to get a fire started only to have a thunderstorm knock it out-then the wind-then rain again, made for lovely sleeping at night. Your location is fantastic in relation to our favorite wineries. We typically vacation in Boston, but after a few days in this perfectly relaxing area, we think you have converted us! Thanks Again!! (I think I can survive the last three weeks of teaching Pre-K now!)

  • 5 of 5

we spent ten days at this cottage for the most part it was the best stay we ever had on seneca lake the only downfalls was the big party at the motel down the street on saturday cars lined up down the road all day and blocked the dock and lake view our stay was still excellent we did feel it was priced a little high but we still thank you for a great gettaway

Our impression

  • 4 of 5

We loved the cottage and Seneca Lake, it was cozy and comfortable, our stay there was amazing. I love the fact that others stay there and keep it well cleaned when others arrive. The washer and dryer was also a plus, we all have to do our part when you stay at someone else's property. The lake was stunning and we traveled all along Seneca to get the full picture. Loved the water falls as well. We would suggest a new grill, my husband spent time trying to clean it and it was not an easy task. We only cooked on it one time, we also would suggest a pull down blind on the right side of the screen house so you can have your coffee outside without the sun blinding you. The screened in porch could use someone to come in and brush out the cobwebs I did a lot when I was there but much more should be done before guest arrive. Also the fire pit should be more well kept, the grate fell apart when we tried to build a fire, my husband did the best he could. Other than that it was an amazing vacation and would recommended it to others.

excellent lakeside cottage

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. The owners were very nice, easy to get a hold of if we had any problems. The cottage is right on the lake with a nice dock, fire pit, and lawn furniture. We enjoyed having breakfast on the enclosed porch in the mornings. Very well kept. Right near the vineyards and only a short drive away from Watkins Glenn. There are a few bars and restaurants within in walking distance.

Finally experienced fall....

  • 5 of 5

We decided to forgo our usual summer trip to Cotter's Cove in favor of the fall this year, and it did not disappoint. Ok, well maybe the weather could have been a little better, but who can control that?

Kathy's cottage, as always, was welcoming. This was the first year we had to worry about needing heat while there, and by far it was very cozy. Everything we could have needed was there when we arrived, which is always appreciated. For the first time, we cooked inside (we usually use the grill), and never had to look far for pots and pans.

Kathy continues to make improvements to both the cottage and the grounds every year - this year we were treated to a new fence with solar lights bordering the yard, and the new washer and dryer inside.

In short, this is a wonderful place to stay,, is conveniently and centrally located to the best wineries, and Kathy is an amazing hostess. Please, seriously consider this location for your next stay at Seneca Lake (just not the week we want to go :) )
