Tournesol Gite at Laugerie Basse Gites, with heated swimming pool

Tournosol gite is one of four gites in a barn conversion situated on the lower level and has been recently renovated with a beautiful bathroom and new kitchen area, it has a contemporary feel whilst still retaining its rustic charm, offering comfort and tranquility for a relaxing holiday. The gite looks out to beautiful gardens and large spacious grounds, sunrise and sunset are beautiful here. Set amongst 4 acres of well tended, beautiful gardens and orchards, we boast a large south facing shared swimming pool that is heated may,June and September and spacious sun bathing area, with sunbeds, parasols, tables and chairs. Guests can also enjoy the use of table tennis, badminton, boules, swings a BBQ area with two BBQ's and lots of space for little ones to roam free to play. There is a calm, relaxing atmosphere here for all to enjoy. Close to St Cyprien's with it's famous Sunday Market 4km, and its many restaurants, bars, boutiques, shops and supermarkets. We are situated 800 metres from the River Dordogne, with all its sports and leisure activities. Minutes from the stunning castles and Beaux Village de France - Ancient Berbiguieres village with it's 12th century chateaux and church is 2km, Chateau des Milandes 6km, Beynac Castle 12km, Castelnaud 14km, Roque-Gageac 17km, Sarlat 24km. Take in the prehistoric sites at Les Eyzies 13km, and visit the museum or take in a cave or ten. Escape to a few of the many medieval Bastide towns and Beaux Village de France. Enjoy stunning and far reaching views from Belves 10km or Domme 20km. Excellent hiking and cycling opportunities through ancient woodlands. Laugerie Basse is in the fortunate position of being a rural retreat, without being isolated, set in the Dordogne's 'Golden Triangle' region and is central to everything you could wish to do or see, while holidaying in this most beautiful part of France.

Just lovely!

My husband and I really loved and enjoyed Jeanie's property! Jeanie was a wonderful host! She checked us in and we had a wonderful surprise with a bottle of Bergerac and a bottle of sparkling water. Nice touch indeed! The location was perfect for visiting Sarlat, Chateau de Milandes, Beynac-et-Cazenac, La Roque-Gageac and other beautiful villages and chateaux around Perigord. Highly recommend!

Nous avons occupé le gîte "les tournesols". Très beau gîte, conforme aux photos, literie parfaite, très jolie salle de bains. Propreté irréprochable. Belle piscine de bonne taille très bien entretenue. Jeanie est une hôtesse souriante qui est aux petits soins et toujours soucieuse de notre bien être. La région est magnifique avec de très beaux villages a découvrir et de belles ballades à faire. Nous recommandons vivement !!!

Wir waren (leider) nur 5 Tage in dieser wunderschönen gîte, aber wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen. Die Lage ist absolut top, um die vielen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten der Gegend zu erkunden: Dörfer, Gärten, Höhlen etc. Erc erc, und doch sehr ruhig und ländlich gelegen. Gekrönt wird das ganze natürlich noch durch den angenehm temperierten Pool. Die Gastgeberin ist super freundlich. Wir kommen bestimmt sehr gerne wieder. Vielen lieben Dank und alles gute! Bis bald!!

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour chez Jean. L’hébergement proposé est spacieux, propre, proche de toutes les commodités et des sites touristiques. Cadre très agréable, hôtes très sympathiques qui n'hésitent pas à vous rendre service s'il vous manque quelque chose. Des travaux sont prévus fin d'année 2021 pour relooker l'intérieur des gîtes. Si j'envisage à nouveau un séjour dans cette région, j' y retournerai avec plaisir. Il est très bien situé pour visiter de nombreuses curiosités aux alentours proches. Je recommande ++++

I have visited this area for many years and fell in love with this beautiful place, I love nature and nothing could be more perfect than living here. I decided to have a complete lifestyle change and moved from the UK May 2021 to follow my dreams of living and working here in France. I have two grown up sons called James and Matthew who have spent several holidays here with me before I decided to make the move. They are delighted and will be spending many holidays here with their partners and friends ! The move here was made easier as my sister Jillian and her partner Nigel live about a minute away from Laugerie Basse with their dog Elon, which is fantastic and I have a cat called Miska .. it's fun when the dog and cat meet !! So ..it's very much a family affair here as my folks visit as well and enjoy this beautiful place.

I love walking along the Dordogne river as the views are stunning in all seasons and it's very peaceful,there are lots of fantastic walks here to enjoy. I am happy to suggest good walks or even show guests a lovely walk locally. I also enjoy cycling , swimming, canoeing and meditation and it's the perfect place here at Laugerie Basse to enjoy all of these activities.

Laugerie Basse is beautiful, a very calming and relaxing place which is why I fell in love with it here.
I live in the farmhouse on site and there are 4 lovely gites for rent . The pool is fantastic and the grounds to roam around and relax in are stunning, there is a play area for children and an orchard for guests to enjoy as well. The sunrise and sunsets are beautiful and it is such a lovely space to be in, perfect for families, couples & friends.

It’s unique as it provides a home from home feel , it is very private and peaceful enabling guests to relax in a tranquil setting.

It is very close to St Cyprien town and a lovely short walk to the Dordogne river. There are many beautiful places to visit in the surrounding area, so lots of sightseeing and then returning to a relaxing environment is perfect for all.

So I look forward to welcoming you to my beautiful home.
