We enjoyed our stay! Hosts were friendly and helpful. New kitchen is wonderful! Clean and comfortable for a family of five. We would stay again, great value!
Great stay! Really clean and cozy inside. Just like the pictures. Host was pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend.
Thank you for a great place to stay.
Sandra greeted us upon arrival. She was very accommodating. The condo was spotless, very welcoming. The location was great...away from the hustle and bustle, but close to so many towns. We would definitely stay here again!
My children, my husband and I enjoyed the home.
The hosts were welcome. We were even more pleased there was a washer/dryer, 2nd bathroom and separate living area for our older children.
Hosts were super responsive and welcoming.

Thanks for staying with us! We enjoyed having you and meeting your family. Come again anytime!!
The property for the 4 of us perfectly. The kids had their own space downstairs plus there was the upstairs space for all of us for family games, meals, etc. It was quite hot so we didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit but that was a nice feature to have.

The accommodations were very clean! The colors are restful, and the cottage is in excellent condition.
The hosts were prompt and responsive to our needs.
We enjoyed a weekend getaway to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and this cottage was perfect for us! We enjoyed a bit of sightseeing and simply relaxing at the cottage. A truly delightful time!
Thank you, Rob and Sandra!
My husband and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and wanted a nice, quiet place to reconnect and recharge and still have the opportunity to do fun things. This was the perfect place. The cottage was neat, clean and well equipped with everything we needed. It was the perfect distance, (a short car ride), away from the activities and attractions the Cape is known for. We plan on returning.

We enjoyed hosting you both on your anniversary getaway and welcome you back anytime! Congratulations again on celebrating 30 years together :)
This place worked out really well for our family of 4. The pictures online gave us the impression it was bigger than it was, but it was plenty of room for our family. The part of town we were in was convenient as there was plenty of shopping and restaurants with 10-15 minutes (both Hyannis and Osterville). You are also about 20-30 minutes away from the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Rob and Sandra were very responsive and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for hosting us!

We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay! Come back anytime!!
The description of the house is exact. Recently modernized, it is very comfortable for a family of 4 or 5. The owners are welcoming and located on the property
It is located in the Lower Cape, with easy access to nice beaches on Nantucket Sound and the area around Chatham. The drive to the south of Cape Cod National Seashore is an hour +, and quite long for Provincetown.
Many thanks to Sandra for a fine stay.

So glad you enjoyed your time here! Thank you for staying with us.
This is a great place to stay when you've got a full calendar for your vacation. Sleeps 5 easily. The kitchen is pretty well equipped. The beds are comfortable. And the hosts are friendly and helpful. Close to both beaches and freshwater ponds, the CC children's museum, great restaurants, and ice cream.
The only challenge is when it is humid, the portable a/c doesn't do it.
But we had a GREAT week!

Glad you had a great week, we really enjoyed meeting your family. Sorry the a/c couldn't keep up with the heat wave... we will address that issue. Thanks for the review and come again anytime!
This place isn't fancy but it is clean and well cared for. My daughter liked having her own private suite downstairs which would be great for other teenagers and young adults traveling with family.
You have to drive to the beaches, but everything is 10 - 30 minutes away. Nice, quiet yard and plenty of room if you have to park a boat or camper. The fire pit has potential!
Although we barely communicated with the hosts (we were on the go the whole time), they were excellent. We would definitely stay here again!
The house is in a great location close to everything. My sister and I enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard we sat out there and enjoyed the weather and the fire. Owners were good with all questions I asked. The house has an upstairs unit as well. It was rented out at the same time so it got a little noisy. That was my only little complaint. We would def rent it again Lisa wilson

Thanks for staying with us Lisa! We look forward to hosting you again!
The stay here was exactly what we were looking for during our short visit to the cape. The place was very clean, and laid out perfectly for multiple guests, as the upstairs was separate from the downstairs. This added level of privacy was an added bonus to an already wonderful place. The hosts were very responsive to all of our questions, and definitely make you feel like they are available for questions. We did have an unfortunate event doing a load of laundry there, in which some of our clothes were stained. This was more than likely beyond the Hosts control, and we understand stuff like this happens from time to time. This was communicated with the host, and wouldn’t be something that would deter us from re-booking the property in the future. The location is perfect, and is a short drive to a large grocery store, and other cool restaurants and shops.
We had a nice stay and really appreciated the location—quiet, private, and close to town with plenty to do. The hosts were kind and responsive, and their recommendations helped us enjoy our time in Cape Cod.That said, the home could use some improvements. The kitchen was very minimally stocked—only four bowls, limited silverware, no cooking spray or oven mitts—so we had to wash dishes often. We were also only given three towels for the three of us. While we could’ve asked for more, we found ourselves needing to request several basic items we’d normally expect to be provided. The downstairs AC worked well, but the upstairs unit struggled to cool the rooms. There was no beach gear available; the hosts kindly lent an umbrella, but it didn’t include a stand. A set of guest beach supplies would be helpful.Cleanliness was the biggest concern. We encountered many bugs—especially in the basement—and found dead ones under the bed. Cobwebs and spiders made the space feel less cared for.Overall, the hosts were lovely, and the location is great. With more attention to cleanliness, guest supplies, and cooling, this could be an excellent stay.

Weekend visit
My family and I stayed at this cottage on our first visit to cape cod for a wedding. The listing does state there isn't central AC, but a window unit and fans downstairs. However, upon arrival, the house was uncomfortably hot. I'm not sure if the owners waited until later in day to cool the house, but it was almost intolerable (especially
the basement). The fans in basement were small and did very little to help. After a 7hr drive, I found myself at Walmart spending $60 on fans so my family could comfortably sleep. We also had to buy a power block as there was no where to plug in our devices in the basement. Once we got the house cooled, it was more comfortable for the rest of our stay. There were only 2 rolls of Toilet paper provided (1 per bathroom) so be prepared with more for your stay.
When we arrived, the owners approached us about a broken door lock and asked if we'd prefer a new one be installed immediately, or would it be ok to wait until the next day. We said the next day was fine; however, they never did install it and we went the duration of our 3 day stay unable to lock the house when we left.
If you enjoy cereal, oatmeal, soup or any meal that may require a bowl, this is not your place. The only dishes provided were mugs, cups, and a few plates.
The house was clean. It is in a quiet location and the upstairs guests were considerate. There was a nice fire pit for guests to enjoy, though we didn't take advantage. Overall, I would probably choose to stay elsewhere during any future visits.

We are glad you found the house clean and quiet, but regret that you were uncomfortable when you arrived. If you had asked, we would have gladly brought over more fans and saved you a trip! Given the heatwave the Cape has experienced this summer, we plan to install central air in the unit for next season. Our previous guests broke the doorknob keypad, which was unfortunate, and we offered to replace it the evening you checked in but said we could do it the next day if that worked better for you. We knew it would be a two hour job, and our sole goal was to work around your schedule and not interfere with your vacation. After speaking with your mother in law (or mom?) she left me with the impression that it was no big deal and that you guys didn't care about it. I'm sorry I misunderstood. I thought you didn't want us to bother you, so we left you alone. And we would never enter the unit without your permission. As far as the toilet paper goes, we leave one roll in each bathroom as a courtesy, along with some laundry detergent, dishwasher pods, trash bags, shampoo, etc. We do have 4 bowls in the kitchen, maybe you didn't see them, which is unfortunate. We have 8 large plates but will get more and more bowls for future guests after your feedback. Thank you for your feedback. Best wishes, Sandra and Rob
About the host
Your host
Rob and Sandra love living on the Cape and sharing their historical property with visitors. Rob works as an engineer and Sandra owns a gift shop. In their free time, they enjoy boating, gardening, travel and home improvement projects. They are happy to share their knowledge of the Cape with their guests and help make your stay as enjoyable as possible, while giving you all the privacy you desire.
Why they chose this property
Marstons Mills is home to Burgess Park and a herring run to provide leisure opportunities for adults and children of all ages. The Long Pond Conservation has a scenic bike path (off Newtown Road). The only grass airport left on the Cape is Cape Cod Airfield, with spots to park and watch planes take off and land. A short drive to Osterville, Cotuit, Mashpee, Sandwich, Centerville, Hyannis, and Falmouth makes our village an ideal location to explore all that the Cape has to offer.
What makes this property unique
The special 2-acre property was originally owned by Edward Gourdin, an American athlete and jurist. He was the first man in history to make 25 feet in the long jump and the first African-American and the first Native-American (Seminole) to be appointed a Superior Court judge in New England. He won the silver medal in the long jump at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. Neighbors say Gourdin often hosted the Kennedy's and had fabulous lawn parties before he passed away in the 60s. We take pride in our property's history and work each day to make it a special oasis offering privacy and space to play.
