About Roy and Debbie Perron
I have fond memories growing up in Maine where we had a cottage on a lake. We had a lot of family holidays at that cottage. And then my family moved to Florida. My girlfriend's family had a cabin in Highlands, NC, so when my husband and I needed a vacation, that's where we rented, and after that we were both hooked on North Carolina. After going a few more times, we started looking for our own cabin. My husband was in the construction business and can fix just about anything. I went to Florida State University and majored in Housing & Interior Design, so we make a good team when it comes to providing a well-maintained and decorated cabin.
Roy and Debbie Perron purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Roy and Debbie Perron chose Robbinsville
We bought our second cabin that was originally called 'The Chalet' from an auction ad that my husband saw in our local newspaper. After purchasing it, we have vacationed there for over 18 years to get out of the Florida heat. We loved the beautiful weather and mountain views so much that when the Mountain Retreat became available we decided to purchase it for additional family gatherings. And then a few years later, the Ridge Haven became available. Everybody we knew or worked with wanted to rent the cabins, so that's how we got started. We love this County with it's country roads and laid back feeling. It is so peaceful and quiet here. Maybe an owl at night and sighting of hummingbirds during the day. It's a great place to live or visit.
What makes this Cabin unique
Our private road and the hiking trail is a great place to walk our dogs, oh and the cats, too. The weather is just like being in air-conditioning in the summer and it's so brisk in the Spring and Fall. The foliage is beautiful any time of the year, even after the leaves have fallen. And the locals are so friendly, always waving as they pass by. There are so many nearby outdoor activities, weekly social benefits, arts and craft events, mountain music & heritage festivals and three pristine lakes (Fontana, Santeetlah & Cheoah) for all types of water adventures and fishing. The cabin is a great place to come back to after a fun day riding the roads or hiking the trails or just hang out here all day and do nothing.

Home away from Home
Our family of 4 (plus two fur babies) really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and cozy. We would recommend anyone to stay here.
Amazing, Everything you needed was available
We were looking for a nice quiet place in the mountains and that's exactly what we got. The cabin had all the utensils/appliances etc and Debbie was very kind too. We were a little late driving through the mountain roads and as soon as we got there, she checked in on us and also brought us cupcakes !!.. Thank you and looking forward to another stay at the cabin.
Quick Quiet Getaway
The cabin was just as described. Roy met us there on arrival and showed us around. Met Debbie the next morning while walking our dog, Willow. Everything was perfect during our stay. They think of everything down to the frosted mugs in the freezer. We only came up for 3 days but I wished we could have stayed longer. Such a cute place. I think one thing that sold me was how they reacted when I emailed them about bringing my dog. They not only said it was ok but told me they thought she would really enjoy it here. Guess what? She really did. Thanks for a wonderful time.
Great property excellent owners
The owner came and introduced himself and was very nice and accommodating. Weather was great plenty of firewood for fire in fire place and outdoor fire. Great view place was clean and in excellent shape. Well worth the stay
Enjoyable Stay-Great area to ride
Our stay was very relaxing. We trailered 2 Harley's there and rode as much of the area as we could...making sure we were back at the cabin before dark, for 5 days. It is in a very isolated area and the driveway is very steep with part of it paved. Once we went up one time we were fine but that first run was quite the rush! This area is so beautiful and we were blessed with perfect weather during our stay. The cabin was very comfortable and served our needs. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and appliances, there was laundry soap in the laundry room, but be sure to bring your own paper products, including bath tissue. The owners leave you information about the area as well as a membership card on the house key ring to the local grocery store. This is a nice, quiet little spot for a get away. We had a wonderful time. Thank you.
They really raised the bar high! It was our first time in a VRBO and there was absolutely everything that we needed there! It was quite, comfortable, clean, very well decorated, and totally stocked right down to some of my favorite teas! Can't say enough about how wonderful the stay was or how happy we were about our choice to stay there.
