During the spring/summer, we have room for another 5 guests with full bathroom and bedroom above the log garage. The cabin bedrooms have AC. The master bedroom has a king size bed, ceiling fan and full bath. There is a sleeping porch off the master bedroom with a queen bed. On the first floor, one bedroom has a queen bed and bunk bed, the other bedroom contains two bunk beds and a trundle sleeping up to five. The loft has a twin bed.

Our log cabin mountain retreat is a 2000 square foot vacation home. It is located on private and secluded Tonche Mountain within minutes of fine dining and shops in the historic town of Woodstock. You will need to travel several miles of private road (great for walking and spectacular views) before reaching the cabin. The cabin is situated on 25 acres of secluded woods surrounded by hundreds of acres of private land and conservancy land. At 1200 ft. elevation you will have breathtaking views of the Catskill Mountains, valleys and sunsets. Wildlife is abundant and the mountain air is rejuvenating.

The cabin is built exclusively of pine wood with hardwood oak floors and custom tile on the first floor with carpeting in the master bedroom and loft. The loft is a great place to read a book, play a game or take in the view through our telescope. Watch a movie or sports in HD in our new TV/Movie room with theater seating and 3 couches. Play ping pong, foosball or darts in our unfinished basement. Enjoy a horseshoe match, a game of volleyball, a round of badminton or the glow of a fire under a starry sky sitting around the fire pit. Impressive hand placed fieldstone rock walls complement the landscape

Our home is child friendly and we have a crib, child gate, high chair and stroller. No pets. No smoking in the house.

Our Catskill Mountain Log Cabin Retreat is an ideal spot for couples weekends, family vacations, and family reunions. This is a very special place. Enjoy.

Why Jenny Maddock chose Woodstock

We love the mountains. We had fun hiking the Catskills to locate the perfect property to build our dream log cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

One of our families memorable traditions-sitting on the deck watching the sun set and later in the evening, looking for shooting stars, heavenly.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Views from the deck are better than the photos!

  • 5 of 5

Don't think twice, book this place now! It is remote on top of a private mountain yet fully equipped with everyday amenities to keep all ages occupied. Our group was a mix of friends and family celebrating our engagement - we were blown away with the location and the views from the deck. Some of us had an adventure finding the place at night, but following the instructions sent by Jenny - everyone was able to find the home. There is a horseshoe pit, there are hammocks, there is a fire pit with lots of chairs/benches, there is a grass volleyball court, ping pong table, foosball, a movie theater room, wiffleball bats, frisbees, you name it - they had it....did I mention there are dozens and dozens of board games as well as an old school Atari hooked up to a tube tv?! If you like to cook - the kitchen appeared to be recently remodeled with a giant fridge, newer range, and an okay dishwasher - plenty of pots, pans, utensils, and even some spices from past visitors I assume! The place was very clean - no issues with linens or towels - 100% would come back.

Wonderful Weekend Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfect for a weekend getaway. It has an amazing porch with amazing view, and tons of activities on the premises so you really can squirrel away for the weekend and still be completely entertained: outdoor games, indoor games, board games, movie den, fire pit, hike on the property. Plus, if you do want to explore away from the mountain, Kingston is only half an hour away, and they have a couple nice restaurants and breweries. The owners have really thought of everything you could possibly need, including thorough explanations of all the neat things the house has to offer. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay here.

Great Home with Fantastic Hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Seven of us spent 3 nights at the Maddock's wonderful abode. The house was equipped with all the necessary luxuries and tools for us to have a fun and relaxing time. The Maddock's provided us with detailed instructions and excellent guidance on how to enjoy their home and the Catskills. From the mesmerizing mountain views to the eclectic collection of board games, we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime!

Owner's Response: Behtel, I am glad your friends from NYC and Boston were able to get away together and relax and play. Next month friends from Boston are meeting us at the cabin, less of a drive for all of us to get together.

Fantastic house

  • 5 of 5

Homeowner was great to work with, she communicated with us every step of the way.

The house is great for a group looking to get away and enjoy the relaxing mountain air. You won't want to leave the house, but checking out the town of Woodstock is worth it. Horse shoe pits and fire pit got a lot of use, the volleyball court was perfect for bocce as well. The house is well taken care of and is just what you are looking for from a weekend retreat.

Perfect property for a large group of friends.

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic property!

We also had grand plans of wine tours, shopping in Woodstock and seeing the river but then never left the grounds once we got to the house. The drive up the side of the mountain (follow her directions!) was a perfect transition from city life to a mountain sanctuary. The weather was perfect and every night we made sure to be on the expansive deck for the sunset.

The lawn volley ball court was a great addition, the horse shoe pits were a big hit, the views from the deck were inspiring, the game room was well used and the fire pit was a staple of every night.

We had a large group of friends (but no couples) and this house was able to sleep everyone very comfortably (all eleven of us) without having to double up in beds.. something which, admittedly, guys don't do very well.

I was once a property manager in Telluride, CO for multi-million dollar homes and I dealt with owners that had very high standards. I can honestly say that the Maddock's attention to detail with their home and how they managed the whole rental process was nothing but professional.

I would absolutely recommend you contact the Maddock's for anyone that is interested in a seamless getaway to a gorgeous mountain retreat.
