We booked this house hoping for a peaceful getaway, and while it was definitely secluded and quiet, we were pretty disappointed with a few key issues.The biggest problem was the lack of cleanliness. We had to ask the owner to send the housekeeper out the same evening we arrived, which really put a damper on our first night. Although the owner was polite and accommodating, the housekeeper was two hours later than what the homeowner gave as an Eta and wasn't very personable. Our arrival was about 5pm, and the housekeeper did not arrive until 10:30pm. It was frustrating to start our vacation by having to deal with a house that wasn't ready for guests.Another major issue was the misleading listing. We were under the impression the house was close to the lake, but that's not accurate at all. The lake is a serious hike from the house, and we felt misled by the description. You'll need to drive to get there, which wasn't the "easy access" we were expecting.On the bright side, if you're looking to get away from it all, this place is incredibly private. We even saw a bear! The secluded location and easy access to the lake by car make it a good option if you want to avoid crowds. Plus, the charming town of Dandridge is very close by.In short, if you're looking for peace and don't mind trading convenience for privacy, this spot could work. But be prepared for a bit of a trek to the water and don't expect a perfectly clean property upon arrival.

Great cabin, walk to lake not as appeared

Cabin was great, it is quite a ways away from pigeon forge, gatlinburg. At least a 45 minute drive. Lake had all kinds of debris where you couldnt even get in the water. The trail to the lake was overgrown, always a very very steep slope. Was very hard to walk back up, and im in shape. Ice maker didnt work so had to buy our own ice and bring back to the cabin. I know its not the owners fault about the debris, but that was one of the main reasons we wanted the cabin. However the walk to and up i would not recommend. It was great to relax and enjoy ourselves. The downside was definitely the lake access and the icemaker.

Our stay

We had a very nice time but were notified the day before arrival that the lake access that we were suppose to have was unavailable because of Hurricane Helene. That was September of last year so pretty sure this was something that we should have been told when we booked. The place was also not the cleanest. There were dead bugs and spiders everywhere almost like it hadn't been swept recently. I know this is in the mountains but if it is being rented the I would think that somebody would do a quick look through.

It was a great place. The only "problem" we had is our room had one towel in the bathroom for me and my husband to share. Everywhere else had 4. We had one.

Christmas vacation

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful lake home over our Christmas vacation. We loved having a bathroom in each bedroom. The house smelled so clean when we walked in. Everything was great!

This property is very cozy, quiet, comfortable and well cared for. With temperatures in the 90's, the cabin was always cool. Tammy and Guy are terrific to work with especially their quick action to solve the water problem which only lasted a couple of hours and with no disruption to our stay. We highly recommend this place and would absolutely come back for another stay.

Great stay!

This place is beautiful! The interior was very clean and spacious for our group of 6 + 2 dogs. The jetted tubs were awesome and worked well. The back decks have a view of the lake. The walk to the lake is a pretty rough walk for the average person if you’re planning on kayaking or paddle boarding at the lake. I absolutely recommend a side-by-side or something similar to help with that trip; the trail is decently wide to accommodate. The road to get to the cabin is pretty curvy and hilly as well but just take it slow and you’ll be fine. The cabin is far enough away that you dont have to deal with traffic unless you need to go to a bigger store or over to Gatlinburg. Overall everyone in the group had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Stay in a Beautiful Location

Gorgeous cabin in a wonderful location. Listing is totally accurate and the pictures don’t do the home justice. Plenty of room for our family of six with room to spare. Having the bedrooms split 2 per floor is perfect and the deck and hot tub overlooking Douglas Lake provides amazing views. The owner is extremely responsive to any issues as is the local property manager. We had a wonderful week and would go back again in a heartbeat.

Christmas Vacation

We really enjoyed our week stay at this cabin. We highly recommend staying here if you need privacy for your large family. Meaning that every bedroom has it's own bath. Beautiful cabin!

Great layout for large family

We stayed Thanksgiving week 2023, we had our extended family - four different smaller families with ages ranging from 15 months to mid 50s. The bedroom layouts were great, separated for privacy. Kitchen was well stocked. Communication with owners was great, they were very attentive. Thanks for a great stay.

Everything was great up until it was time for us to take our showers and the smell from the pipe line was horrible it was very strong ,the left over dishes that was in the dishwasher already dirty and the grasshoppers that was in the bed in room on the lower level of the bedrooms after talking to the host they fixed the pipe line the smell eventually went away and everything was perfect

We all enjoyed our stay overall. Everyone said the beds were comfortable. Nice location, easy to access with GPS, and the views of the lake were beautiful. Very quiet and enjoyable. Great place

The house was very cute. The pics don't do it justice and the view out the back porch was lovely. It was a bit of a chore getting down to the water but we knew that when we booked it. Overall it was a great place to get together with family. We all enjoyed the pool table, hot tub and fishing! Thanks so much for sharing your house with us!

Not quite what we were hoping for

First of all this is a beautiful cabin the layout is nice with bedrooms at each end giving you privacy. Loved having access to the dock and kayaks. The kitchen was stocked with all the dishes you could need. The screened in porch was nice to sit out and not be bothered by bugs. The hot tub was nice. That all being said i was pretty disappointed in this cabin for price. I was not expecting the furniture to be broken down and uncomfortable. We had 3 recliners and only 1 reclined. The mattresses were wore out with a hill in the middle and sides sunk in. All 5 of us woke up with sore backs. The screened in porch was nice but we had to sweep it before we could sit on it dirt and dog hair was horrible. The patio furniture had cushions but they were so old no cushion was left just material. I don't think the gas grill had ever been cleaned out. We had a grease fire our first use and hadn't put anything on it to cook. We tried to use the jacuzzi tub in the bedroom but the hot water heater isn't big enough to fill the tub above the jets. Its sad because this really is a beautiful cabin with great views but because of the furnishings being so uncomfortable we will book a different cabin next year.

Gorgeous View

An amazing view of Lake Douglas. The location of the house is very peaceful with spectacular outdoor living areas that everyone enjoyed. The house is clean and worked great for our family of 11 with two dogs. Tammy and guy are very quick to respond to emails and helpful if you have any questions.

Spacious and relaxing

House was very spacious and set up perfectly for 8 adults. Very open living area. We cooked in all meals and the house had all pots/pans/utensils that you would need. The extra refrigerator in the basement was nice for exta space for drinks. Beds are very comfortable. The porches were also large and spacious. The gravel path to the lake was a little longer and more challenging than we expected however as stated you can slowly drive an AWD down to turn around. Host was very responsive to any questions we had. Overall would recommend property.

Cozy, well supplied, peacful reunion with amazing view

Homey and simple decor greets you. Then you open the blinds and drapes and the view takes your breath away. No people in site and a well stock kitchen set-up. No crappy pots and pans here! Plenty of dishes, cups etc. Everyone had privacy and we could separate into smaller groups for conversation and different activities. If we come back will bring a side by side to enjoy the lake. Very comfortable beds. Great water pressure in the showers. No one wanted to leave. It was absolutely perfect!

Our cabin has 4 bedrooms each with it's own private full bathroom. It has 2 levels with 2 bedrooms on each level and the lower level has a kitchenette with full size refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee maker, and dining table with chairs allowing for some in your party to have earlier mornings or later evenings than others.

The secluded cove just a short walk down a gravel path is a wonderful place to kayak, fish, swim, picnic, or just enjoy the sunshine. There is a dock that is shared with the neighbor so you can park your boat or tie up your kayaks.

The cabin is just a 40 minute drive to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and with highway construction on Route 411 nearing completion, the drive will be even shorter.

Where you want fun in the sun at the lake, amusements, entertainment and shopping, or a peaceful and serene escape from it all, this cabin home has it! We would love to host your family or group of up to 12. Our goal is for your stay to make a wonderful, lasting impression!
