This place was awesome to stay at! We were pleasantly surprised with the location. Its also a quick 30 minute drive to okoboji. It is very relaxing and quiet. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We will definitely be back!
The property was in the perfect location to enjoy the lake. It was vibrant and we enjoyed the 4th of July festivities. The property’s deck and dock needed to be clean thoroughly because there was tons of spiderwebs and my kids did not enjoy being on the dock too long. Other than the outside needing some power washing the rest of the house was fine and had all the amenities needed for our family. Thank you and will definitely stay again.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately power washing does not keep the cobwebs from coming back. We do power wash which looks great for 12 hours. Our guests love our deck and dock lighting and so do the spiders. We do everything we can to minimize this including having a large bug catcher, brushing away the webs and spraying (which depending on rain does or doesn’t do any good). Even with that cobwebs come back literally overnight. Something to keep into consideration is there is an outdoor broom inside the parking side door that can be used to brush away the cobwebs. We look forward to you returning!

When we acquired this property, we thought the perfect name for this property was “Lost Lunker’s Lodge.” As Lunkers means large, the lake frontage is large, the outdoor space is large and the deck is large, and we’re located right on beautiful Lost Island Lake. Originally from Emmetsburg, I lived most of my adult life in the Michigan/Indiana area. My husband and I wanted to move back to this area for family reasons. We fell in love with this property. It had been a resort years ago and we both thought it was too beautiful not to share. We are 5-star hosts on other platforms and every year we're excited for our repeat guests to see our improvements that their rental fees have allowed us to make.
Why they chose this property
We chose this area because we love living in an uncongested friendly area both on land and on water.
What makes this property unique
As close to being right on the lake as you can get with unusual over 140 feet of lake frontage, over 2,000 square foot deck, and huge amount of space for parking is unique for properties right on the lake.
