The home was perfect. Great for families to get together. The kitchen was amazing. It was perfect for a large group of people working together on meals. Lots of counter space and the 2nd dishwasher and refrigerator came in handy. The kids took advantage of the kayak and paddle boards for floating and fishing. Lots of fishing off the dock. Our grandaughter caught her 1st fish - and 9 more. All in all, a great time and a great place. We plan to return.

The house is incredible and the hosts were great to work with! Very clean and well outfitted. Plenty of space to relax for a large group and a great location.

The Modern Farmhouse at Lake Vandalia, IL was an excellent place for our family gathering of fourteen members - ages 8 to 74 years old this July! The Farmhouse is spacious with excellent use of their indoor living space. Our grand-daughters loved their "room" that had a large area for their personal stuff, a bathroom and an awesome place to "hang out." The bedrooms for our adult children were also spacious and all bedrooms had full bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped with any items you may need and the two large refrigerators were excellent! The pantry area was a great place to store food items we brought for our meals. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful and spacious screened in porch. One grand-daughter commented that it was her favorite place to look out and see the tree-line cove and water activities. They enjoyed playing board games and having their own area for "teen talks" in this area! All of our adult children would frequently gather in this area to talk, catch up with each other and reminsce. The entire family enjoyed the outdoor cove area that was secluded and the water calm with minimal to no boat traffic. Our oldest son truly appreciated the "office" where he was able to work on some necessary business details. We truly enjoyed the Modern Farmhouse and the hosts were quick in responding to several questions we had. Thanks for an excellent place to enjoy our family and make beautiful memories in a spacious and awesome home!!

Fabulous Nostalgic Weekend at Vandalia Lake

My family and I were extremely impressed with this property! They thought of everything PLUS a lot of EXTRAS. The space is so comfortable and enjoyable for a large crowd! We enjoyed making meals as a family on the large spacious islands and also benefitted from the multiple refrigerators and dishwashers. We had so much fun making memories at the dock, in the cozy, but large sunroom and game area. Each family had a comfortable, pretty luxurious place to sleep too! We look forward to coming back!! Thank you for such a great way to get back on Lake Vandalia!

Local Oasis

Our team had an absolutely marvelous time for our staff retreat. A home of this quality could have been on any lake in the country. It was spacious, comfortable and outfitted with everything we could have needed. The design was immaculate. My only encouragement would be for a faster response time to questions. We were unable to get access to a couple of the amenities like the game room because of that lack of response. HOWEVER, that would not keep us from returning. This home is an absolute GEM!

Gorgeous property! Each bedroom has their own bathroom. Great view! Wonderful kitchen with more than enough counter space. Plenty of fridge storage for large groups. Property manager was very good with communication. We would stay here again!!

A beautiful home for a large group

This place was absolutely perfect for our 3 families to meet up for a relaxing weekend. Plenty of space for parents and kiddos to spread out. The kitchen is fully outfitted, and the big green egg made grilling a real treat. Wi-Fi was great for remote working. We are looking forward to coming back in the near future.

We’ll be back!

This house was a dream. It was very comfortable for 15 people and the host was helpful when we got locked out one day. If you are looking for an activity in the area, we rented pontoons at Carlyle Lake one of the days.
