The perfect location for a no stress FAMILY vacation! We are completing renovation of the kitchen cabinets and countertops and have added a large capacity dishwasher!

Note: We have just added a special offer for Sep 4-28 at a significantly reduced rate. No more than 4 persons, but there will be no housekeeping service during that time. The apartment will be left clean, and you must return it in the condition delivered.

Large Corner Beachfront family apartment in the Zona Norte section of Cartagena. A short walk to the Hotel Las Americas, Radisson and Sonesta hotels. 205 square meters of lovely stone floor and whitewashed cement walls. Very private apartment only three apartments on the level. The apartment is located on the fifth floor, two floors from rooftop pool. And the building has direct beach access.

The terrace is spacious with two sections, two double hammocks and a large 8 top table for al fresco dining.

The open kitchen and living/room dining area is breezy and bright.

Three large comfortable bedrooms offer the privacy of their own full bathroom. There is also a guest half bath off of the living room.

There is an enclosed t.v. room/home office with a brand new smart tv, we have enhanced wifi and cable.

Our building is ubiquitous in the area, and is well known for its unique feng shui design,

It is very private and extremely exclusive (please understand that is why we have such strict security procedures).

Inside and out it is a very elegant, yet unpretentious environment.

There are 24 hour security guards at both the main entrance and garage and at the beach access entrance.

Common areas have SECURITY CAMERAS. For example in both entrances, the parking lot and the upstairs pool and social areas. We do not control the cameras or their content.

The beach access area is direct from the building and has outdoor showers and a bathroom available.

There is a small playground for young children on the second floor mezzanine.

The rooftop common area has lots of open space for yoga and fitness classes offered by the building twice a week (registration and fee required) and you are welcome to use our fitness items in the apartment.

Rental includes daily cleaning service for 5 mornings a week Monday through Friday.

Please respect Check-in 12pm (after 5pm using coded lock) /check out times 9am to 3 pm.

WE CAN ONLY RENT TO FAMILIES. MAXIMUM 8 PERSONS AND BUILDING DOES NOT ALLOW DAY GUESTS OR PETS.

Quiet hours: 10pm to 7am

Building is 5 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the walled city and 15-20 minutes from Bocagrande.

The building charges a penalty per person for short term rentals for anyone that enters and therefore anyone accessing the building requires our written express written permission at least ONE WEEK in advance. NO DAY GUEST/VISITORS ARE PERMITTED.

Therefore all guests must be registered at the time of booking with copies of passports provided with the rental agreement. We reserve the right to refuse entry if identities of guests are changed.

You must provide proof of parentage for children and children not accompanied by both parents will require a notarized permission in a form approved by us in our sole discretion.

What makes this condo unique

LEGAL RENTAL RNT LICENSE 24166 Many activities nearby for children, wonderful neighbors. There are only approximately 40 apartments in the building, all are large family apartments and many owners are year round residents. This is a rental to bring your family or friends with their family and enjoy a comfortable, relaxing stay at the beach. The building management is very strict about enforcing noise and nuisance regulations. It is not a party or 'spring break' appropriate destination.

Amazing Place in a Beautiful Country

First, Clayton is the absolute best owner. From the very first day we made our reservation, Clayton was on the spot explaining exactly what was required and offering us tons of valuable information to allow us to maximize our vacation in an incredible country with fantastic people. Second, the unit is amazing. It is 5th floor 3 bedroom (each with own bathroom and shower - two with king size and one with two bunk beds) beach front condo with one of the best views anywhere. There is a large main living area, great patio, and the best supplied kitchen you could ever require. We (2 families of 3 - each with one 16-year old boy) had a great amount of space. We preferred this location, 10 minute drive to old town - 15,000 pesos (less than $6.00 US). Plenty of activity on the beach and around the condo - several mini-marts, a few places to eat, kite surfing, jet ski, beach vendors, etc... The ease to visit old town, meant we spent most evenings in the historic city center for dinner. There is a significant amount history in Colombia, and great friendly people willing to share. Can’t say info good things about our visit, the country and our host. THANK YOU. We definitely plan to return.

Paradise

Our third year at this property and we will return. This is the place to be if you want great beach, amazing sunsets, secure/safe accommodations, and a touch of luxury. The owner attends to every detail and responds quickly. What a treat to have maid service included in the rate - and the maid is unobtrusive yet very helpful - excellent cook! You will pay much more for similar (but in my opinion inferior) rentals in Boca Grande. Transportation is easy - the front desk guard will call a taxi for you and most destinations are 15000COP or about $5. Building neighbors are friendly and rules imposed by the association are reasonable and seldom violated by anyone. What a great place to relax, enjoy, and to use as a base to travel to the sights and attractions of Cartagena.

Excellent location, comfortable and attractive apartment and super-helpful host

We are two families (4 adults + 4 teens) who stayed in Clayton's apartment for 8 nights during late December 2017. Clayton was an amazing host, both during the trip planning stages and during our stay. She went above and beyond to help us and was always quick to respond to our questions and requests for help. The apartment was exactly as described/pictured, and there was plenty of space for 8 of us. The tv room/den was a great hangout room for our kids--and the sliding door even kept late night tv noise contained. Leydis, the cleaner/cook, made us delicious meals and having someone to clean/cook made is seem like a true vacation. The location, right on the beach, was perfect, and taxis into the center were quick, easy and cheap (15,000 pesos or about the equivalent of $5 US). The rooftop infinity pool was beautiful, the terrace was lovely, and I could ramble on more. There is definitely a reason for all of the 5 star reviews for this property!

Family oriented apartment and location.

Our stay in Clayton’s apartment was short but very enjoyable. It is on the north side of the city near several of the nicest hotels in the area. The Radisson is two doors down and has a great restaurant, albeit on the expensive side. You can also hire one of the drivers there to take you on a city tour in an SUV or you can ask if the larger vans are available. But back to the apartment. It has a great view of the beach and you can see the city on your left. There are two hammocks that are better used early in the morning while it is still cool outside. The afternoon gets a bit warm as the sun sets towards the balcony. There are three rooms one of which has double bunk beds, they all have ac and fans. The person that cleans and maintains the apartment is very thorough and does a very good job in keeping the place clean and organized. She also makes some really good arepas con queso costeño (corn/maize patties with local cheese). For groceries you can call the supermarket and order but the process is tedious and takes a while, so if you are not fluent in Spanish it would probably be better to ask Clayton for some assistance with that. By the way, Clayton is one of the nicest, if not the nicest host you would want to deal with on this platform. She follows up with you on everything without being overbearing and responds promptly to any inquiry. Definitely be prepared with your groceries if you want to cook in the apartment. Otherwise the Radisson (expensive), there is a burger place/very small convenience store, one door opposite the Radisson or you can travel (9-10 mins should cost about 15,000.00 COP) to the old walled city. DO NOT EAT ANYTHING THEY OFFER YOU ON THE BEACH. You should be wary of “restaurants” and food vendors on the beach itself. Along those lines as well, there will be people trying to sell you anything and everything. All you need to do is be polite and say no thank you. Remember they are trying to make a living. Your first stop should be the walled city. It is clean, busy and great for pictures. You should visit during the day (the earlier the better to avoid midday heat) and at night. It is safe as there are plenty of police and security around. There are a good amount of restaurants in there, most of them pricey, but read reviews on trip advisor depending on what type of food you like.

Fantastic Apartment and Responsive Owner!!! A+

Ever since our first contact with the home owner Clayton all the way through our final day was fantastic. Clayton was very responsive and answered all our questions quickly and continued to provide suggestions on places we could visit and explore. The maid cooked a delicious breakfast every morning, cleaned up and made sure we were very comfortable with our stay. The apartment was as described and the pictures were very good at showing the layout. We would absolutely come back...

Recommendations:

Do go to the islands of Rosario, old town, the resort rooftop pool, spa, steam room, suggest you request the maid make patacones or other traditional dish.

Do not recommend:

Beach vendors or massage on the beach

Read below for more details; not attributable to the apartment but to Cartagena itself.

Off site:

Taxi or Uber? We used Uber almost everyday to multiple locations, which was affordable and safe. If you’re going to be a first time traveler or a repeat visitor, Cartagena is a city easy enough to rent a car and travel on your own. As we were first time visitors we were unsure. Next time we’ll be ready to rent a car.

Beach: The beach was beautiful; knowing that the dark sand was from volcanic ash helps understand the color of the water. The negatives are to watch for the beach vendors. I’ve been to enough locations to know to watch out for them, but one scenario we were unprepared for. The beach tents rental guy came up to us and mentioned that we must be staying at Claytons place. We replied yes and he did do a good job taking care of us. Which built in some small trust, while another vendors came up and attempted to cut some deals. As I’m completely opposed to any beach deal the vendor covered any cost upfront and indicated he would provide a receipt which we could pay with a credit card. The beach tent vendor said we could trust him. The event the next day went off without a hitch and we paid with a credit card… until we returned home and the vendor indicated he required more money in cash for things that weren’t paid for. He could not provide a receipt and charged up to 3x what it would normally cost. After negotiating a final cost, we were still disappointed that it had to come to arguing at the end of the day. Thus, again - the point of the story is don’t trust beach vendors.

Otherwise, everything else was awesome and we will be coming back to Cartagena for the years to come!
