Suitable but in need of maintenance.

We are a family of 4 out to Temecula for a local vacation. The property was suitable in size and relatively clean. However, the property is in major need of maintenance. The walls are scuffed, chipped, and dented. An interior paint job would really do wonders for this place. The ceiling fans are not balanced so they make noise at high speed. The room on the 1st floor does not receive cool air from the AC units even though it is vented for it. The backyard is not welcoming and you really don't want to spend much time back there. Grass is all dead. The pool is old and in need of re-tiling/re-plastering. The jacuzzi looks as if it has green water ... when in fact its just the tiles within are so old and dingy it makes the water look green. It makes me uncomfortable to write such a negative review, but based on what we paid for this property, it simply was unsatisfactory.

Ideally located

This beautiful home is ideally located in the heart of Temecula wine country, not far from many wineries and shopping is nearby. The kitchen has plenty of cooking utensils and dishware if you wish to eat in and lots of restaurants nearby if you don't. Linda and Frank were quick to respond with any questions that we had, which were very few once we arrived. There was plenty of room for my adult children, granddaughter and my husband and myself, so we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. We would go back ... thanks for the hospitality!!

Loved our stay in Temecula!! Beautiful wine country. Can't wait to go back....

The house was in a great location to the wineries and surrounding areas. My only complaint is that we rented the house as it had 4 bedrooms and 3 baths and we had 3 couples and one of the bathroom showers did not work therefore we had to share a bathroom.

Very nice house and convenient location

The house was clean and spacious. There were plenty of dishes, glasses, pots and pans. The pool was cold (it was October after all) but the hot tub was on a timer that was locked - so the timing to use it was inconvenient for us. The location is nice - it's quiet but close enough to stores and restaurants. A few bedroom TVs would be great! Overall a great vacation rental.

Lovely time spent with family

I first want to say that Frank and Linda were very responsive, via email/app/phone, from before our stay and throughout. House was in a nice area, and besides one neighbors window overlooking the pool area, it's fairly private. Home was spacious and read most of it was remodeled, but we found many areas in the house a bit run down. Nothing too obvious. Kitchen had everything you needed, pool and spa were nice, although spa looked pretty old with some of the smaller tiles broken off. Tons of towels, refrigerator space and pretty close to most of the wineries we like to visit. Overall a decent stay.

Less than thrilled.

On a Positive Note : The house is in a very nice neighborhood and in an excellent location as far as access to Old Town Temecula, the wineries, etc. This interior of the house is comfortable and nicely finished. The beds are very comfortable. Downsides : The shower fixtures in the upstairs shared bathroom are very “janky” and barely functional, and in need of replacement. The area rug under the dining room table does not lay flat and is therefore a serious safety hazard, as every time you sit at the table or get up from it, you trip on it. Of greatest concern is the fact that a couple of key issues about this rental were not revealed to us until AFTER we had booked the property and it was too late to get another place. Specifically : The pool was not going to be available, or only with an additional large surcharge. There was an implication that we were expected to wash and dry all linens and towels before we left, or we might not get our deposit back. This is something we have never heard of at other rentals. We had to kill a whole morning on our last day getting this done - something the proprietor should clearly be responsible for. Not cool. For the above reasons we would not be repeat clients.

Melissa, Thank you for your feedback on our home. We are glad that you found the house and beds comfortable during your stay. Since your feedback, we have updated the fixtures in the upstairs bathroom and have taken into account your comments regarding the dining room rug. With respect to your other comments, it's very disheartening to hear you falsely accuse us of hiding the fact that the pool was not available. Our listing clearly states that the pool is closed during the Winter months (late November - March) since Temecula can get VERY cold in the desert climate. We always let our Winter guests know this when they send a booking request so they are aware up front. You stayed with us in February and so we informed you immediately about the pool rules when we responded to your request. When you expressed your disappointment, we offered to fully refund your booking (within 2 hours of you booking)! Since you were so disappointed, we offered to make an exception and open the pool for your Winter stay, and suggested that you may want to heat the pool (for a $75 fee) which you declined, but said you still wanted to keep your reservation. Typically, our guests do not pay this fee since Temecula is warm in the summer and most people don't find it necessary to have the pool heated. Additionally, our check-out requests are only that you start ONE washer load of linens so that the cleaning team can put that in the dryer when they arrive, and immediately start on the next washer load. We understand this is quite normal with other rentals when the house is large and there are many laundry loads to cycle through before the next guests arrive. We wish you had reached out to us to clarify so your group could have avoided the trouble. Also, while it is a request, we understand that guests are not always able to start one load. For future reference, we would never withhold a guests' deposit for that reason. You will find that HomeAway does not permit policies like that either. While we were happy to hear that you found the home comfortable, it was very disappointing to receive your misrepresentative comments. We went out of our way to be extra accommodating of your early check-in (at no extra charge) and would have been very quick to address your concerns as soon as you communicated them. We hope in the future you will be more communicative and forthright with other rental home owners so they have a fair opportunity to address your questions/concerns immediately.

I highly recommend this beautiful home.

This is our second time that our family has stayed at this very beautiful home. The house is very inviting and accommodating home. It had everything we needed. Frank and Linda responds to our email in a very timely matter. I am sure will be renting this home in the future.

Roomy house great location!

Check in was a snap, there were issues with the cable & internet..and jacuzzi when we got there but Frank had the issues squared away immediately. Location is in a quiet subdivision, about .5 mile off the main drag. Plenty of places to shop.

Very nice property in a great location.

Overall the property was great. Everything as advertised. Perfect location near old town and pechanga, but also wine country. House was clean and furniture appears to have been recently updated. Only two issues that we had: the front door handle is a little worn and faulty and only works when pushing the handle tab all the way down (pin that extends into door jam doesn't recess entirely even then but enough to work), not a huge issue and still functional enough, second, we had lots of difficulty connecting to the wifi and I believe onlynone of us was able to get any stable connection (also, forgot, cable was not working, didn't affect us really since we were busy with other things), also not a huge deal but a bit inconvenient (also, this was a very tech savvy group so dont believe it was user error). As mentioned, the cons were very few and trivial; the pros far outnumbered and outweighed them. Our host was great and the neighbor who helps keep an eye on the property was incredibly helpful and nice. We had a great time and I would not hesitate to return or to recommend this property to anyone.

Very nice owners, property seems overpriced

Frank is the nicest person you could ever hope to rent from. He was always available. When we stayed earlier this month in July, we were disappointed. I hadn't read the most recent reviews because we booked it in the winter, but seeing them now I have to agree with the overall disappointment. The carpets were just cleaned so they were very nice. The biggest issue we had was spiders. Over our 3 night stay we killed nearly 10 spiders in the house. I told Frank he needed to get pest control out there and I believe he will. He appears to fix things after they have been brought to his attention (e.g. Carpets had been cleaned). The neighborhood seems very crowded because so many people park their cars on the street. We paid $486 per night and that seems very high in comparison to our family that stayed in a very nice, huge and secluded house for less than $200 more per night.

The home was all that we expected and more!

The owners were very nice and attentive. We all stayed comfortably, had all we needed. We throughly enjoyed our stay, great for family vacations, very close to everything. Will be booking again the next time we are out that way.

Disappointed

We have used HomeAway several times ad have always had a good experience.. This home was a total disappointment. Deferred maintenance, dirty carpets and bugs found in several rooms of the house. The gas grill had old food left in it and the propane tank empty. It appears no one is watching over the details of this property.

Disappointing

When driving in, we realized this was not the house or neighborhood we were expecting. The lawn or lack of had not been mowed in some time. The windows were dirty along with dead leaves and spider webs. Upon entering, I noticed the living room furniture was not the same as pictured. It was an 80's style with a fair amount of stains on the gold fabric. Old tile and carpets need updating. On day one, we came home to find a stranger's truck in our driveway. The old hearse complete with coffin, 2 doors down, added additional ambience. Interesting but we left early.

Great for Girls Gone Wine!

We had 6 women show up from the Midwest and the south for a weekend of wine, laughter, and fun. The property was true to the pictures. There was enough space that we could spread out if we wanted to do so. The house came equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen and there were plenty of towels and washcloths for everyone. The property was clean and we actually had the lawn service show up during our stay. They took care of the outside and didn't bother us at all. We had an issue with the washing machine going out on us and Frank sent the property manager over very quickly. He wasn't able to do anything, but it felt good knowing that Frank was timely in his response. Being a first time HomeAway user, I was very nervous about renting based on pics only. Frank put me at ease and happily answered any questions that we had. I would most certainly recommend the property to others.

Perfect house for family reunion/wedding

I rented this house for a family wedding and family reunion and my family had the best times cooking, swimming and visiting with each other. My 95 year old mother was comfortable and did not even mention going back home in Palm Springs! I was truly impressed with the Linda and Frank, the owners, for their professionalism. They were so gracious to let us check in earlier, as we had family coming from Wisconsin, N. Calif. Mississippi for the wedding and family reunion. Its was a very hot weekend and the pool was a great place to cool off. Thank you, Linda and Frank, for making our stay a memorable one. We definitely will recommend you beautiful home to friends that may need a nice in Temecula! I know i will think of your beautiful home as a place i would like to come back to.

The Perfect Rental Experience

I rented this home for a girl's weekend to wine taste in Temecula. The home is beautiful, spacious, and had everything I could ask for. Coming from the person who cooked all weekend for the whole group, I was very impressed with the items available in the kitchen. All of my guests were very impressed with the house as well and kept saying so all weekend. The house is very close to all the wineries, which made transportation convenient and kept the price low. It was wonderful to come back to the house after wine tasting all day to relax in the spa with friends. Although the house was great, I was truly impressed with Frank and Linda's exceptional customer service. They responded to every question I had in a timely manner and went above and beyond to assist me. For example, I mentioned that I needed to go to Costco. They not only gave me directions to Costco, but informed me of other local grocery stores and directions to get there. They were very friendly throughout the entire experience, making me not afraid to ask questions or more advice about the area. Overall, renting this property exceeded my expectations! We are already trying to plan another event where we can rent the same house again through Frank and Linda. Thank you both very much for a wonderful weekend and experience! Kimberly

Wonderful Birthday Weekend

This house was perfect for my Temecula Wine Tasting Birthday weekend. Frank and Linda was very patient, as this was my first time renting threw HomeAway and I had many questions. The answers all of the questions and more. They were so amazing to work with. They truly made my first time experience hassle free, convenient and assisted in a wonderful birthday weekend. There were 8 of us staying in the house and there was enough space for privacy so that you never felt cramped or overwhelmed. I am sure we will rent this house again.

Perfect Family Rental

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We were gone most of the day but it was such a pleasure to come home in the evening to some of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on. The home was spacious and open and furnishings were better than most vacation rentals. Although we ate most meals at our relatives or out at the wineries, the kitchen was full of every kind of appliance, dish and pots/pans you could hope for. We celebrated my mothers' 80th birthday and she stayed at my sisters house but she could have easily stayed with us since one of the bedrooms with private bath is located on the first floor. The check in and out process was simple and easy and we enjoyed finding we were in such a nice, safe neighborhood. Upon return, our deposit was promptly refunded and it was a pleasure working with our renters. Thank you for making it a very smooth experience from start to finish. We would love to stay again.
