Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-10)

Any way you choose to do it, trout fishing at Tall Pine is some of the best in America. And we have the records to prove it! The former All Tackle World Record brown trout was caught 15 minutes away. This brown trout, which weighed 32 pounds, is still the 2nd largest brown ever caught anywhere in the world. The 3rd largest brown ever caught was also caught 15 minutes from Tall Pine. There have been many other line class record fish caught in this area. But big fish are not all we have. It is normal to catch from 30 to 60 trout in a day's fishing here.

When you fish the White or North Fork rivers you'll also enjoy some spectacular Ozark Mountain scenery. The water is a clear emerald green. Bluffs rise some 150 to 200 feet above the water. Meadows, wildlife, water fowl and other birds, and wildflowers are common sites along the river banks. You can rent a boat in the town of Norfork, which is ten minutes from Tall Pine, or you can go boat fishing with a guide who will provide the boat and all tackle. You can buy your fishing licenses and trout stamps in Norfork.

About 20 minutes from Tall Pine is Norfork Lake, which is famous for large striped bass. You can also catch walleye, largemouth, smallmouth, catfish, and bream in Norfork. Rent a boat at one of the marinas, or go out with a guide who will provide the boat and all tackle.

My daughter and I built this two bedroom two bath 1,350 square foot lodge one log at a time, just like we did the cabin. And every log was placed with our guest's comfort in mind! Like our cabin, the lodge is made of solid aromatic native red cedar which smells wonderful. A Sunbeam Grill Master (on deck under in shade) waits for the chance to BBQ your favorite steak, or use the charcoal smoker. Outdoor deck lights make late night BBQ convenient. Enjoy outside dinners on our old-fashioned picnic tables. Your 8-person hot tub under the stars! A 6-foot high privacy fence encloses the back deck area. The double doors enter into the master bedroom suite. There are no other buildings around for nearly 1/2 mile, just Ozark forest. Oak flooring, aromatic cedar walls, antique light fixtures, and ceiling track lights create a warm room atmosphere.

This place is well maintained and is always neat and clean as a pin!

If the Lodge appears to be unavailable please call us as we do have others.

About Owner/Manager

When I first purchased this place it was a vacant piece of ground with an old run down mobile home on it. Together with my two girls we built these buildings with our own hands and turned it in to the place it is today. Now my girls are grown and gone and my husband CJ and I are still here but Ed Potts our neighbor oversees the place for us while we tend to our Saddle Shop, Crest Ridge Saddlery

Owner/Manager purchased this house in 1995

Why Owner/Manager chose Norfork

This place used to be just our own private fishing cabin that we asked Ed to rent for us while we were not using it. then it became so full that we then built the big Lodge. This place is secluded, and unique. Your pets are always welcome here, please just remember to be considerate of other guest while you are here with them.

What makes this house unique

Everything you need to is furnished except what you eat, there is even a washer, dryer, indoor jaquzzi and outdoor 8 man hot tub. We are 1/4 mile to Red's Landing Whiter River access, 1 hour to Blanchard Springs Cavern, 1 hour to Mammoth Spring, 40 minutes to Mountain View or Hardy where all the tourist shops are. We have local fishing guide services here, along with canoe trips, hiking trails, bike trails and horse trails. But best of all we have the #1 World Class Fishing River 1/4 mile away from the very spot you are staying.

Everything is as shown the picture. Just one problem it is really hard to locate b/c google map don't locate it right. The location is fairly good 1 hour away from lots of activities.

the owner is a respectful man which was really helpful. do not rely on Wifi , there is no functioning internet at this place but if you are in love with nature i recommend this place.

Peaceful and comfortable - just what we were wanting

  • 5 of 5

It's so quiet here, you can hear every car drive by. And the house feels like a home. Our first experience with booking through Home away was great.

Very impressed and very thankful!!!

  • 5 of 5

Due to an urgent family tragedy, we were unable to spend our weekend vacationing at this beautiful cabin. We knew that we would not be eligible for a refund due to short notification of reservations, but instead of refund we were offered to reschedule our stay for another time so we weren't at a total loss of our money. With that being said, that meant more to our family than anything at all. There trully are some great people still around. Our family couldn't be more thankful......

Cabin was nice but you have to BE SURE and lock EVERYTHING UP!

  • 1 of 5

We had a fishing pole stolen from the bed of a truck. They left the drivers door and glove box open on the truck and stole one of the groomsmens' clothes for the wedding the next day from the inside of the truck.
