Treehouse Retreat Right in Helen, steps away from the river

Bedrooms 1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay nights

About the property

Cabin, open floor plan (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

The TREEHOUSE is a unique Cabin located on the grounds of Bear Creek Lodge and Cabins. The Resort is quietly tucked into the hillside that surrounds the fun and lively town of Helen. Most guests at Bear Creek just walk into town (it takes about 5 minutes).

The TREEHOUSE Cabin is thrilling all who come to stay. It is made of all wood, and is built up high among the mighty Oaks and Maples. It has a wrap around porch with rockers and tables and chairs, that let's you commune with all the mountain nature!

Inside the Cabin, all your needs have been lovingly taken care of. It's a forty foot high Cabin from the Hot Tub at ground level, the living area on the first floor, and the private bedroom in the giant loft above. Two full baths, one on each floor. The decor is stunning.

It's all fun and friendliness here, with bonfires at the river on the weekends, bicycling, tubing, or just relaxing by yourself on one of the properties swings, or chatting up some of the other guests around the property. We've found that once you stay at Bear Creek Lodge and Cabins, you will return some day!

This cabin is also for sale along with the 6 others that surround it

The Treehouse is tucked into a very important mountain side called 'Hamby Hill' that was a big part of the Georgia gold rush ..... you can hike into the mountain and find the old gold trails, and maybe some gold! ... lots of interesting flora and fauna abound, just hike right from the property! ( or just walk downtown for a cold beer and some Bratwurst!) ...Ask Tim or Cindy about skeet shooting!

Charming & Cozy Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this lovely little mountain retreat!

Cindy was so kind and easy to work with when we booked the cabin and made some great recommendations for events and activities to check out as well as restaurants in the area to try. When we arrived, Tim was so warm and welcoming as he took us up to the cabin, explained all the features and where to find the things we needed, and answer any questions we had.

The cabin itself has beautiful high ceilings that made it feel spacious and open. On the front porch there were rockers to enjoy while sipping your morning coffee and listening to all the birds wake up. It was so peaceful! Because it's a little off the beaten path (but still easily accessible and found!) you don't here traffic noises or late night party goers. The downstairs hot tub was so relaxing after a long day of hiking, ziplining, and exploring the area. The bed was comfy, the air conditioning worked great, and overall it was the perfect size for just the two of us.

The hike up the hill in front of the property caught us off guard at first, but it's not too bad. The only difficulty we had was taking some of our stuff up thanks to odd shapes and sizes but walking up and down itself is doable. There's a lovely little creek out front as well which adds to the calm and peaceful atmosphere. I'd highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for some R&R and we will definitely return again!

Perfect Birthday Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a beautiful place surrounded by nature! You can hear the rushing water from the deck and everything is just a short walk that makes it so convenient. It is cozy and comfortable and the amenities are just right. Cindy was so helpful in explaining the cabin surroundings, restaurants, walking trails and points of interest. I would highly recommend this cabin and we will definitely be back to enjoy this property again. Thanks so much for a memorable weekend!

Awesome Time

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed ourselves! As two medical students looking for a weekend in the mountains, this was perfect. We read the other reviews before going up, and completely disagree with the negative posts. It was cold but the box heater and the fireplace were great for warming the cabin up making it nice and cozy. Cindy was also very honest about the walk up to the cabin, it was steep, but true able bodied people wouldn't have a problem. It was not the Ritz Carlton, but it was exactly what we expected. A small cozy cabin, perfect for the two us to spend our weekend in the woods. Cindy gave GREAT suggestions for food. The places she suggested were phenomenal. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend using Cindy and any of her property rentals! Thanks for a great weekend Cindy!

Owner's Response: THANKS TYLER For the wonderful review! Negative reviews are very powerful, and sometimes not very truthful, so we are grateful you took the time out to post yours. We look forward to your return visits, and it would be great if you guys consider getting married somewhere on property, as I suggested to you, if you decide to tie the knot....Good luck to both of you with your medical degrees, and hopefully you'll decide to come up to the cabin for some down time again soon! Thanks again- Cindy and Tim

Not What Expected

  • 2 of 5

Recently stayed at the Treehouse for a week and was not exactly thrilled. We are a healthy able bodied family of three (Husband, Wife and adult Daughter) that found it very difficult to maneuver the trek up the hillside to get to the Treehouse. We really think that Tim and Cindy had better do something about the "paths" up to the Treehouse before someone breaks a leg or arm (maybe some real wooden steps). I myself slipped and fell on a piece of rebar holding the carpet down on the path and have two enormous deep and painful bruises to show for it. The extra fee to use the hot tub under the cabin was also not expected. The only saving grace was being in Helen to tube, visit the shops and restaurants and hiking the falls and parks. We are certain we will not stay in a cabin in the woods again without proper entrances and exits.

Owner's Response: Cheryl- We are terribly sorry you hurt yourself on the path to the cabin-immediately after reading your review,we improved the pathways, and be sure to tell all potential guests that it is an aggresive approach to the Treehouse. As far as the fee for the hottub,as I explained to you on the phone prior to your visit, with deep discounted rates,a fee is appreciated. Also, to be fair,it should be noted that we didn"t charge you a pet fee, which is standard with our pet-friendly cabins. We wish that you would have communicated with us regarding the difficulty on the paths during your stay,as we would have offered you a comparable cabin with an easier approach. We work very hard to make sure our gueste have a great stay with us. We are grateful to your daughter for her nice review of the cabin, and hope that someday you might return to Bear Creek one day, and stay at one our other cabins with easier access, and a free night on us....

Perfect getaway for two

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival to this cabin, my husband and I were greeted by the owner. She walked us through the cabin and showed us where everything was and asked if we had any questions. She also gave us local tips on where to eat, where to go hiking, etc. It was a sttep climb to the cabin but it was well worth it. This cozy cabin was just what we needed to go home to every night after hiking through the local state and national parks. The hottub was most enjoyable after long days of hiking. The bed was comfortable. The only pieces of advice I can offer is: if you can't climb a hill, this cabin is not for you. The a/c is a window unit upstairs and there is no air blowing in to either the restrooms but they both have windows to open. We managed just fine as a box fan was provided and it fit perfectly in the windows. The owners were very friendly. The free tubing from the property was an added bonus. There are many places to visit within short walking or driving distances. It was a wonderful vacation!
