Röbel / Müritz is a lively small town with 5313 (31. 12. 2007) inhabitants. It is located in the Müritzkreis, the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District, at an altitude of 65 m above sea level and nestles idyllically on the southwestern shore of the Müritz. After the political change, the historic town center with the town hall was thoroughly renovated in 1991 as part of the urban development subsidy, the cityscape of this colorful half-timbered town has changed dramatically in this period. The city has a rail connection, but is shut down. The nearest train connection is in Waren about 24 km away. Röbel is connected via the Müritz with all federal waterways. A developed city port is available, which is accessed by various passenger shipping companies.
