Overview

About the property

Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps up to 10)

We are excited to share that the cottage is featured in the Spring 2016 issue of Better Homes & Gardens DO IT YOURSELF magazine. The cottage was also featured in the October 2011 and February 2014 COTTAGES & BUNGALOWS magazine! Come see firsthand why our cozy cottage is a picture-perfect getaway for a romantic retreat for two or a family vacation with the children.

The cottage, tucked away in the woods, offers the comforts of home within its rustic modern interior. A wall of windows on the main floor provides sweeping views of long-range mountains and treetops. The screened porch is an ideal spot for reading, dining, playing games, or watching the moon rise over the mountains. When the weather turns chilly, relax with a soak in the hot tub under the stars.

The kitchen is outfitted with updated appliances and finishes. Enjoy breakfast and coffee at the stainless steel island or at the table for eight overlooking the long-range mountain view.

The master bedroom on the main floor features a king-size bed and a 42' flat panel TV with DVD player. Included in the master suite is a travertine bathroom with an antique clawfoot tub and separate shower.

The second bedroom is downstairs with a queen-size bed and adjoining private bathroom finished in stone and glass tile. A pack-n-play crib and toddler bed also are in this bedroom.

Children love to sleep in the bunkroom, also located downstairs. Four twin beds and an adjoining bathroom complete the bunkroom suite. Each bunk features its own nightlight for reading.

The second living space downstairs features cozy seating and a 42' flat panel TV with DVD player.

The cottage is conveniently located in Waynesville and is close to skiing in Maggie Valley and the attractions of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cherokee and Asheville are 30 minutes away. Even with its wooded privacy, the cottage is only a 10-minute drive from charming downtown Waynesville.

About The Owner

We are a mountain-loving family who enjoys hiking, farm-fresh dining, and the rich history of the region. Sharing our cottage so others can experience the beauty of Western North Carolina gives us great joy.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2008

Why The Owner chose Smoky Mountains

We fell in love with Waynesville after living there for 2 years. The cottage became our mountain retreat after a job required us to move from Western North Carolina. The mountain air, long-range views, and seclusion offer peace from the stress of the everyday. This is our quiet place!

great weekend!

  • 4 of 5

6 of my friends and I stayed here in November 2016 for a girls weekend and had a great time! The house is very clean and well kept. Minor cons: Connecting to the wifi was a little problematic for the majority of us. The fireplaces aren't actually functioning, however the hot tub and the view made up for it. Despite these minor issues I'd definitely go back.

Peaceful Silence Around A Well Cared For Home

  • 5 of 5

We have had a wonderful time for the first moment till we had to leave again. Booking process was easy (although we booked on a short notice), rental home easy to find (although remotely located), and the home was welcoming and clean at our arrival. The views from the living area and backyard are magnificent. We truly enjoyed the peaceful silence up there on the mountain. The hot tub was a well appreciated amenity for the entire family. We did not go out for dinner, but enjoyed cooking at the house that provided what we needed to prepare our meals. The home is very tastefully decorated and the large front of windows in the living area makes it bright and inviting. We truly appreciated the comfortable beds and linens provided. Angela was a pleasure to communicate with. We could tell that she and her family have put many hours of love and care into this home. It feels rather a family home than a rental business.

Wonderful relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and i just enjoyed a great trip to the cottage. it is really serene and in a great location with an incredibly great view. You are super close to Asheville and other great places to visit. Waynesville is also quite charming in and of itself.(Try Frog's leap for a yummy meal)

The cottage is wonderfully decorated. Really, truly beautiful. The owners were super helpful and very responsive and I highly encourage you to check out their blog at the bottom for really well thought out itineraries filled with ideas to make a great rip even better. Even though our littles have gotten well beyond equipment, I did notice that the cottage is also very well stocked for a family with younger kids/baby...toddler bed, high chair, swing... The layout lends itself to entertaining older kids or teens or it would make a great girls retreat. Adorable bunkroom, awesome great room.

Just Lovely!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is simply a marvelous cottage. Beautifully decorated with a sophisticated hand at work. Open and inviting, with much attention to details. The view is to die for and even though the location is totally private, you can be in downtown Waynesville in a matter of minutes. We travel to this very lovely area several times a year and hope to make this our rental of choice. I consider this cottage to be the very best offering in the area by far.
