We absolutely loved the location! However, the size of the unit was much smaller than anticipated. I described it to my daughter as a luxury-adjacent tropical bedroom. With that being said, we had a most enjoyable stay. Perhaps if we ever return to Captiva we would try to get one of the units on the upper levels.
Fantastic location with an amazing view. The only issue we had was the bathroom door didn’t close all the way because there was something wrong with it.
It was nice but I would not call this a studio it is a bedroom and bathroom. In the closet is a mini fridge and microwave but this is not by any means a studio it is a small bedroom that’s it. I have stayed at studios before so I wasn’t expecting a lot but I was very disappointed it was very very small.
This little cottage is exactly as described - cozy and quaint! It is the ultimate "glamping" experience on the beach! One cannot expect all of the amenities of home, but it does have all of the necessities. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the drawers underneath were a bonus. The best part is just a few steps directly out the door to the water for those amazing views. And even though it is located on the turn of a busy street, it is surprisingly quiet. We will definitely return to Jensen's someday!
The photo on the listing was deceptive in that due to hurricane there’s no longer a view of the beach as shown on the listing. I totally understand that, and I’m glad the dunes are being rebuilt and seeded. But one of the things I was looking forward to was sitting out being able to look out at the ocean.. view that drew my attention was that photo. I would possibly stay there again, but again I think the photo needs to be updated as some people will be very disappointed.
This unit is in a great location and steps from the beach. Although our unit was small, it was all we needed for a quick 2 night get-a-way. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the limited kitchen amenities were just enough to keep us fed. Appreciated the chairs, umbrellas and beach toys. For a longer stay I would suggest one of the second or third floor units but for the money, the first floor and sand right outside of the door this was a great place.
I will never stay at Jenens on the beach again. The room sucked. Too small and outdated. This room was over priced for the amenities. We left after the first night because the bed was too old and soft. The bottom room must have been a 130 square feet total. VRBO didn’t even have this room registered in outlet name so I don’t know what’s going on with VBRO. We couldn’t even make a complaint to the owner of this room. The whole stay was a fiasco. The pictures on this listing are very misleading. We had to get another room in sanibel. Oh, there were hardly any shells on the beach.

Tiny
The room was marginally as advertised. On the beach, very clean but very small. Some electrical outlets didn't work. Keurig coffee maker was wedged in between the microwave and the wall making it hard to fill. One tiny ice tray was in the mini fridge and our upstairs neighbors gave us a couple of regular sized ice trays. No chairs except on the screened in porch. Adequate for a one night stay, but too small for any longer.

Not worth the money or Hassle
The location was great and the access to the beach was awesome, but the room was VERY small and the queen size bed took up most of the space of the one-room-only accommodation. It was basically a hotel room. It did supply everything we needed, but very little space to move around.
Our big concern was that management contacted us a few times the day of during our trip, because of a TV issue that the last guest’s complained about. They said they would have a TV service provider in the room repairing it that day and we said that was fine. Right before arriving to the accommodations, we received another call saying that Comcast had been there, and that the TV was taken care of.
However, the next day, our first full day, we received texts and phone calls while we were swimming at the beach, stating that a Comcast service provider needed to access the room. We stated that the TV was working properly for us and that we were at the beach swimming and that we would rather not be interrupted. Management said the service provider was there now and insisted that we let him access our room. So we obliged and hurriedly grabbed our things and returned to our room where the man was waiting at our door. We had no time to put away our valuables and electronics, or personal items and there was no room for three people in the room at one time. We showed him the TV and he asked “what was wrong with it?” and we said nothing that we have seen, but that the management wanted a new replacement box. So he fiddled with the TV and then said he would return in 10 minutes. We started to get ready to go out for plans, but he returns, so one of us had to be changing and showering in the bathroom right next to the TV area and my husband waiting outside on the patio … it was so disruptive. He returned while trying to get ready, but still did not a replacement box. He said he would return once again, and we waited and he never came back. So we called management and said we could no longer wait around and that we had to go to dinner and we left. And we insisted again there was nothing wrong with the TV and perhaps they could change out the tv box after we left.
The next morning, Which was our second full day and last day at this accommodation, we were on the beach and we got a phone call, I did not answer it and then we got a text and another phone call I finally answered and it was Breakaway vacations management again stating that we needed to be prepared for anot
This was a great little place! Definitely cozy, but nicely taken care of and in an awesome location. The property management was super easy to connect with and very responsive. Highly recommend!
Cozy, quiet, and very clean. Exactly as described. Beach front location is excellent for going on walks. Enjoyed the view from screened porch. Very relaxing!
