Why Kye Iris chose Central Coast

Unspoiled California as it once was. You are surrounded by natural beauty. Spectacular views--you can reach out and feel the estuary on all sides. This location is a one in a million.

What makes this house unique

As you drift off to sleep, often you will hear a dull roar. You would think it was the sound of the freeway--but it is the sound of the surf. We encourage you to soak in the natural beauty and wonder of this very special hideaway.

Nature Lovers have found paradise.

  • 5 of 5

I woke each morning before sunrise, took a steaming cup of coffee 30 steps to the Sweet Springs Preserve to watch the sunrise on Morro Rock, then watched the eagles and egrets forage for breakfast as the sun came up. Once things calmed down a bit--I went back for a second cup of coffee in the hot tub, and watched the birds come to the bay by the thousands--from the hot tub. Later in the day we took the kayaks out on the bay, saw great blue herons resting on the shore, and walked the dunes that were untarnished. This part of the central coast is the only truly unspoiled landscape. This is truly a one of a kind place. It is so nice to find such a comfortable nest in the midst of such natural bounty.

How do I like my coffee? With egrets and eagles, of course. What an incredible find

  • 5 of 5

I woke before sunrise every morning, walked out the door, to a menagerie of egrets, waterfowl, even a bald eagle having breakfast over my head. Don't sleep through this magnificant spectacle, just steps from your door. My toes got a bit chilly in December, so I slipped into the hot tub once the morning sunrise dwindeled .to daylight. This place is one of a kind.

Incredibly relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful weather, waterview from the deck, short drive to area beaches and fantastic seafood restaurants. Morning strolls through the adjacent sanctuary, bird watching, even a few deer in the sanctuary on out last night. Highly recommend!

Los Osos by the sea

  • 4 of 5

Kye was a supportive host, this being our first VRBO experience. The cottage was clean, tidy and ready for us with comfy beds and lots of blankets for our kids to snuggle up on the couch. It abuts the Sweet Springs Nature Preserve - herons, deer were about. We ate on the back deck, watched the monarch butterflies and chatted with the next door neighbors. Lovely, and we hope to visit again.

Peaceful! LOVED it!

  • 5 of 5

We had the wonderful blessing of staying in Kai's home for 8 nights and it was a vacation filled with memories that we will always treasure. We loved the home and the location. It sits at the end of a quiet dead end street and the peaceful estuary is literally right beside it with paths that start a couple minutes from the driveway. The house is very roomy, comfortable and very clean. Both bedrooms are very nice and large with plenty of closet space and drawers. At the end of our day the hot tub was oh so relaxing! We had the pleasure of meeting Don and Judy who are employed by the owner. They arrived to clean as we were gathering the last of our luggage. It was apparent to us that they valued our business and they wanted any input we may want to give them, and all input was positive with not one complaint. I hope to return to Kai's home again one day. We LOVED every bit of it!! ...... Thank you SO much Kai, Don and Judy! .... (Note: Kai was always great in prompt communication)

Nice property with fantastic views from back deck.

  • 4 of 5

The home was nothing to look at when we pulled into the driveway. However, upon entering the home it was pleasant and clean. Walked out to the rear of the house and found a raised deck next to the Jacuzzi, which had a table and 6 chairs. The view was fantastic. Overlooked the bay area and we could see Morro Rock and the 3 steam towers which backdrop the Rock. Spent a lot of time out there just admiring the view. We came from the desert where the temperatures were hovering around 110 degrees. This was such a welcome change of pace for us. Overcast and/or foggy in the mornings with a lite breeze. The skies eventually cleared and the sun broke through and we had mid 70's the whole week.

Kitchen was fully stocked with a big fridge, a toaster, microwave and gas stove. The bed in the Master bedroom was unreal. So comfortable that we overslept most days, but that was okay, we loved the rest.

Our little dog made herself at home and loved the deck. Spent most of the days out there, relaxing or sleeping.

Had a little trouble with the TV but it was resolved with the help of a caretaker who came out within hours and repaired the problem.

The heating element on the Jacuzzi burned out and Kye contacted the pool man and he ordered the part and came out and made the repair. We were unable to use the Jacuzzi and Kye promised to reimburse us for the inconvenience.

Just a tip or two. Try the Los Osos Farmers Market in town on Mondays. Fabulous fruits and veggies and other assorted items. Talked to people visiting there and people came from all over to this market. There are hiking trails nearby which are suitable for children or a small dog.

Dining suggestions: Bayside at Morro State Park and Dorns in Morro Bay with nice views and outstanding food. For fast food, Sylvesters. Great burgers with long lines. Kuma Sushi (Excellent). Both are in Los Osos.

All in all a great week. We would highly recommend this property.

Easy driving to Hearst Castle, Morro bay Cayucos, Cambria and Wine Country. Whale watching in Morro Bay by boat. Guests have reported seeing them July 2011 off of Montana de Oro a State park, with miles of beaches and trails whose entrance is just one mile away. I have seen a double breech just 2 miles from shore ., July 2011 has seen blue whales and hump back whales in abundance just off shore.
