It was so nice having you here. Actually the long driveway is S Chapel Rd which is a County road. Once you get up to our mailboxes, at the top of the road, then it becomes the driveway which we maintain. In September, we had a flood (Hurricane Helene) and the County Road Department lost all their equipment. They recently replaced the equipment and then they had a massive fire in the road department's barn that, again, destroyed the equipment. Before the flood, we were on track to get the road repaved! I don't know how long it will be before they replace the equipment from the fire so our road can be maintained.

It was a pleasure to have you all here. I will talk with our cleaning crew about the items that were not cleaned appropriately. We have had many reviews that specifically mention how clean the cabin is, especially since we allow up to 5 pups where size doesn't matter. All of the cleaners have dogs so they are extra diligent about all dog hair being removed before the next guest arrives. That said, I will share your concerns with the cleaning crew. As to the animals...as we discussed, the Llamas are more like cats than dogs and do exactly what they want to do. Normally, in the morning and afternoon they are grazing in the pasture by the cabin. During this reservation, it was unbelievably hot (in the 90's) so the Llamas stayed down in the other barn by the fans. I believe our write-up indicates that if guests would like to get "up close and personal" in the pasture with the Llamas we would be happy to escort the group into the barn/pasture to greet the Llamas. We've done this on many occasions. The same holds true with the two horses, miniature donkey and miniature mule. It was hot so they stayed in the barn with the fans. They would come out in the early morning and late afternoon when it became a bit cooler but with the hotter temps, the bugs were also out in force. We have that sign at the horse pasture so that guests will not go into the pasture without us escorting them. We have had situations where the parents of young children would just go in the barnyard, without permission...one in particular was a little girl with open toed sandals and by the time I got there, she was leaning against one of the horses back legs. That sign is to assure guests will be safe. Again, if we were asked if a group could go in, then we would have gladly taken everyone inside the pasture for a "meet and greet."
