Why My Place is So Special
The Beach Farm is the crowning jewel of a 150 year old family enclave, founded by the owner’s great-grandfather. Your ONLY neighbor is Rachel Carson. The Beach Farm provides the ideal vacation for two and three generations.
The most memorable aspect of your visit to The Beach Farm is experiencing nature’s beauty and quiet and, especially, enjoying its private, white-sandy beaches. It takes just five minutes of normal walking to reach the private shorelines, walking on private dirt roads, some covered with huge pines. We supply a red wagon to haul beach items.
The breath-taking two mile-long white sandy beach is extra expansive and, at low tide, the ocean retreats a long way. When it comes in, the warm sand heats the water, making it acceptable to many swimmers. Fishermen have numerous sites to catch bass ( we provide two fishing rods for your use.)
There are 3 bedrooms in one side of the house: the downstairs master bedroom with ensúitte bath and two bedrooms upstairs with one full bath. The furniture is mostly new, attractive and comfortable for all ages. Enjoy the original artworks, many of museum quality. The big open living area, with comfortable seating for nine people, has large windows with great views of rolling fields, marsh, some ocean, great sunrises and also reflected sunsets. Bring your sheet music to play on the Spinnet piano. Decks are everywhere, including a screened-in one.
Through a breezeway, four friends or additional family have bedrooms. The upstairs Ocean Room with sitting area has a gorgeous view of the ocean. The large, downstairs Hummingbird Room, with sitting area and T.V., features mesmerizing views of hummingbirds, fields and forest. The Pool House features a colorful sun room with nine windows where you feel you are outdoors. It has toys and building blocks, ideal for small children to play and comfortable seating for adults. From it, occupants of the Pool House have their own door to the heated pool area.
All bedrooms have air conditioning and /or very good fans. Four have queen sized beds and one twins.
An alarm system is available for the main house.
The in-ground 18 by 30 foot heated pool, under full sun, provides for real swimming and refreshing dips. A hot and cold water shower is adjacent. Plenty of seating, tables and lounge chairs provide all ages with something to enjoy together, including an L.L. bean Bean Toss game.
New in 2018: a large recreation room including a ping pong table, puzzles and a variety of games.
From here you can see all the JULY 4th FIREWORKS from the Kennebunks.
We apply environment friendly insect spray on the lawns, keeping 90% mosquitoes far away.
When you wish to leave your wonderful paradise, you're two miles to the glamour of Kennebunkport!
The owner is a few miles away and can usually supply helpers for any need immediately.
Well behaved dogs are welcome. We provide you with a pass for Kennebunk Beach where, each day at 5:00 P.M., the whole beach turns into dogland haven full of free running happy dogs.
The charms of ocean and summer get-togethers await your family at the Beach Farm with competitive pricing. Book now!
Keywords: From on a 30 foot hill, enjoy the best New England offers: acres of nature that would captivate Thoreau himself, along with the great Atlantic Ocean. Every one will love the large, in-ground heated pool. The water pump works 24/7 to maintain cleanliness.
Outdoor activities abound: walk alone or with your dog on your designated beach area or on the many trails; bird-watch; take nature photographs; kayak from the nearby dock on the Mousam River or from the beach; fish for stripped bass at several locations; cycle private roads and star gaze into dark skies.

Why Helen chose Kennebunk
My mother's grandfather moved here from Alfred, Maine, in 1890, It is said these two beaches comprise the longest stretch of 'undeveloped' shoreline on the East Coast. Crescent Surf is so isolated, the U.S. Military stationed here during W.W.II. scared my mother one time when she came out swimming. I moved here in 1978 with my two sons after I inherited the Farm with its large acreage. I wanted my children to grow up with the wonders of Parsons Beach and attend the excellent schools of Kennebunk.
What makes this House unique
Col. Hart received all the land between Little River and Mousam River as an acknowledgment of his contribution to the War of Independence. He chose the hill where my house sits for his home site, farmed the fields and hayed the marsh. His descendants sold their homestead to my great-grandfather in 1890. You can know you frequented the same beach as George W.H.Bush and Cole Porter. George during the last few years of his administration when he jogged it during the off season and Cole while he and my cousin were roommates at university and visited at my Aunt's.

a great find!
We had a great trip. Very comfortable home, lots of peace and quiet, and an absolutely beautiful beach.
Thanks, Grant! I enjoyed having your family at the Farm.
Wonderful week in a spacious, secluded house
We had an absolutely wonderful week staying in Helen’s beautiful, welcoming home. Helen went out of her way to ensure we would be comfortable: she is extremely warm and accommodating. This vacation was a family vacation consisting of 9 people: my husband, our two young adult children and one of their friends, my sister and her husband and our great-aunt and cousin, and our little and perfectly behaved dog. Delicious breakfasts with pastry purchased at a nearby patisserie, good food from the local supermarket, we had the beautiful, inviting home where we picnicked, had a swimming pool and played games on the beautiful lawn, taking long walks near the Nature Reserve, and into the woods at Helen’s house, relaxing on one of the many decks. It was idyllic. When we ventured out, there were nearby wonderful, fresh seafood restaurants, Miniature Golf, Pitch and Putt and exploring the lovely town of Kennebunk.
Helen’s house is lovely, I admire her beautiful art work from all over South America. The house was neat and clean, and as an added bonus Helen has become a friend. She made us all feel very welcome indeed and was always at the other end of the phone if we had a question.
I cannot recommend this house enough. The quiet space around you, the beautiful woods make a beautiful backdrop. I looked forward to greeting the turkeys close to the parking space each day. And there are many beautiful birds to admire.
We hope to be able to return to Helen’s home next year. It was a wonderful time to spend all together as a family. I’ll be contacting Helen soon to set up a date for next year. I highly recommend staying at her home. If you like nature, privacy, a short walk to a private beach, you may never want to leave the property, but there are many places to go. Kennebunk is in a sweet village, and food galore at many wonderful restaurants.
We thank Helen for her hospitality and for her generous spirit.
You are such an extraordinary wonderful and thoughtful family, thank you.
This was a repeat visit for us and we liked it every bit as well as last time. The location is very private and peaceful and I think for us the pool makes a big difference
It is awesome.
The property is well appointed and provides for every need. We like the Kennebunk area very much.
It was so good to see you and your family again including your lovely grand-daughters. Yes, the pool extends the beach experience and it is so simple to jump in at any time.
I look forward to your next visit when we will have a recreation room featuring a ping pong table.
Happy rest of summer,
Excellent Vacation Spot
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Helen's home. The private beach is one of the best in Maine, and I enjoyed the short walk to get there multiple times each day. The pool was also easily warmed up by the sun/solar cover, and was a lot of fun for adults and kids during high tide. There is a great grill available on the deck, it is perfectly located to be in the shade for dinner cooking. If you shop right, and take advantage of the 2 fridges, you may not need (or want) to leave the Farm. There are also plenty of comfortable spots to enjoy your peaceful surroundings, decks, screen porches, etc... If you want to stay close to the beach and enjoy walks on a beach where you won't be dodging others, and peace and quiet - this is the place for you! The beds and bathrooms are also very comfortable, we would definitely come back for another stay.
Thank you very much for your visit. Your observation about using the two refrigerators is a good one and I shall utilize it in my description.
Hope to see you next year!
Happy Fall and Winter
Marsh, Beach, Kennebunk!
A wonderful two-week stay for family--6 adults, 2 kids. Beautiful quiet setting down a private road but close to diverse range of activities and great restaurants. Short walk to amazing wide sandy beach that is often empty. Good grill. Lovely pool. Good Wifi. House provides enough space for privacy but also has a good-sized living room for gathering and playing cards or doing jigsaw puzzles. The back deck is a great spot for looking out over the marsh and watching the birds and other wild life. Helen, the owner, could not be more welcoming or helpful.
My pleasure to host you. I grew up on this beach, but I never stop seeing other people being amazed by it. Or the quiet around here. Glad you enjoyed the nature and got to see the bald eagle.
Great property for a family vacation.
Spent a great week at the Farm. House was the perfect setup for our extended family reunion. The pool and proximity to the beach were perfect for the kids.
I would highly recommend this home for a great vacation.
Thanks, Brian, I enjoyed meeting your family and especially seeing your adorable twins. Glad you all enjoyed my place. Helen
The Ogunquit Summer Playhouse presents plays organized in NYC just for this theater and they generally excel. There are beautiful golf courses and many places to kayak, hike or swim. The area is known for a wide-range of antiquing and, in Kittery and Freeport, discount shopping centers.
