We sent a message asking about our dog joining us - still have had no response to message. VRBO said to expect a message from hoist before checkin. Never got that. Arrived Wednesday night at 11pm and found a place that was dirty. Greasy stove, deadbugs on window sill, no coffee (yet had tons of creamer and coffee filters so it was apparent there should have been some), toothpaste splatter all over shelves in bathroom, bottom of toilet had hair and dust and damp towels in dryer. In bathroom we found one hotel size body wash and two 2in1shampoo/conditioner for a home that sleeps six for a 4 night stay. We immediately checked beds and found the sheets smelling good of laundry soap so we felt good about staying. We sent a message immediately to host, with pictures, letting them know we needed toiletries and coffee.The host responded on Thanksgiving morning that we should have texted her last night, since she was asleep when we arrived and didn’t see the message in VRBO till morning. She stated that she would have come right over. Furthermore she stated that she would come over to clean. I thought I was being gracious to not ask someone to do that on Thanksgiving. But wanted toiletries and coffee. That call was very early in am. We decided to sit down at table with breakfast. On the table is a sign that ask that placemats to be used. We discovered a placemat with fuzzy mold growing in the underside of one and the others with dried food spots and crumbs fell out

A relaxing stay in Laurel.

Very cozy home and front/back patios close to downtown. Very clean and updated home. We had a great stay, thank you for all of the upfront and during trip communication ensuring we had everything we needed.

Beautiful Laurel Gem!

We shared this lovely home with five adults, mixed with family and friends! The home was warm, friendly, and accommodating-- each bedroom had it name and charm We loved sharing in morning conversation and coffee on the front porch chairs and swing! We also shared a beautiful Easter Lunch following church service at Laurel First Methodist Church where we heard a full orchestra, choir, hand bells, and a music conductor celebrate Easter! The home was fully furnished and addressed all of our needs perfectly! A beautiful gem, indeed.

What a great first vrbo experience

This was our first time not staying in a hotel, and what a great experience!! The house was adorable, very nicely updated. We absolutely fell in love with Laurel as a whole and I'm pretty sure this house was partially the reason!! We'll definitely be back, my son said "this house is our vacation house now".

We had an awesome experience! Location was great. House was perfect. Fenced in backyard was amazing for our pugs. We had a simple check in and check out. This place is charming and we would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Clean, perfect Cottage

My best friend and I came to Laurel for five days and this house was perfect for us. Very clean, well stocked, great location. I would warn anyone with a very large vehicle that parking may be difficult as it’s in back down the alley and there’s fences everywhere. It’s tight backing in or out. We had a full size SUV. Gave 4 stars for check in process only because we had the wrong code, which was made right by the owner. Would definitely stay again and hope to very soon!

Perfect, just perfect

My wife and my sister wanted to make the pilgrimage to Laurel to see all things Ben and Erin. My brother-in-law and I tagged along. The description of this property sounded just like what we wanted and we were not disappointed in the least. The house is very close to everything we wanted to experience. It was immaculate and surprisingly roomy for a house of its age. The owners had taken the time to go around the house with a label maker and tag all of the light switches and numerous other items in the house. We felt perfectly safe in the house.

Left 2 days early

Already communicated to Host, I couldn’t stand the lack of safety or filth. Back yard easy access to alley, found the gate left wide open one morning. Back door barely locked, with slide latch like you find in gas station bathroom, and no deadbolt or weather stripping. Superficially pretty, wonderful fenced backyard. Checked out two days early and on my way home by 8:30AM. Nice start, but needs time. Have no idea where the 5* ratings came from!

Celia, your review is disappointing considering you were an extremely difficult guest who is either new to VRBO or has never stayed in anything other than a hotel. The gate is newly installed since we purchased the home just a couple of years ago. We have never once had a safety issue at our home. In fact, my mother travels up often and stays by herself each time with no issue. We also have a latch that goes on the back door in addition to the lock. There is a flood light out back that comes on and you were unable to determine what the bath mat was which is something else you were upset about. You also complained the outlets did not work. Upon your departure I had our handyman visit and he tested every single outlet... which surprise all worked. The filth you're referring to is from a dirty mop head that had not yet been cleaned. The cleaning company cleans the mop head at the beginning of each visit and mops their way out after they are done cleaning. In addition, you also neglected to return the keys to where they belong, which left our cleaners locked out of the home and me having to overnight new keys to them. When I asked you where the keys had been left you were extremely rude and dismissive. Why would you not return the keys to the lockbox?

Laurel visit

Nice cozy house. Everything is there you could possibly want. Love the fenced backyard for the dog and mornings on the front porch with coffee. Don’t miss Blue Crab for dinner, Scotsman, Scents and Mercantile for fun shopping. We enjoyed Peddlers Junction Antique mall for tons of interesting items. A very nice stay overall, should have made it longer.

Very disappointed

We were looking so forward to our stay but unfortunately when we arrived at 6:30 at night the house had not been cleaned from last guest. It tools us until after 8:00pm to get a hold of someone by this time we were at the Hampton Inn. The owner refunded us for the whole stay which was great but overall very disappointing experience for our trip to Laurel Mississippi.

TN Girls come to Laurel!

We loved staying in this house!! It's adorable, clean, cozy, all the things! This was our second summer girls trip to Laurel and it was a GREAT experience again. I highly recommend staying here and visiting Laurel and Hattiesburg.
