My favorite spot in the U.S

I have been to this house a couple times, and every time I forget that I am in the United States! It is HEAVEN!! The view is amazing, and the house itself is great as well. You can tell it is styled for a family or families with a lot of siblings. It is close to a lot of great places and a walking path across the street! I would highly suggest you go here! Jamie is very respectful and was able to get back to us at her earliest ability. I plan on going back and hopefully it becomes an annual trip:)

great location and lots of space

  • 5 of 5

We really loved our stay here - plenty of room, perfect location, tons to do onsite and close by. Awesome pool & view. Loved the kayaks and ice maker. Saw eagles, eels, sharks, dolphins - too many creatures to name! Fished on property but no bites, better off hitting the bridges (lots of catches), or Bud & Marys for a charter - try Fearless, they were fantastic (blackfin tuna sushi - yum!).

Only minor complaints on the house - mattresses/linens could use some refreshing, could use more beach towels (or tell people to bring own), and TVs are kinda old/fuzzy (although honestly no one should be watching tv with that view!!)

Would not hesitate to stay here again - hope to make it an annual trip!

Paradise Found!

  • 5 of 5

All I can say is "Awesome!". The house, its location, the privacy, the views, the furnishings, & the experiences our group had while staying at Jamie's Islamorada beach house were all awesome. Our group of 12 (5 adults/7 kids ages 8-14) fit perfectly in this house. The property is located right on US 1, but you would never know it. There is a large gate & lush landscaping that provide lots of privacy. The guest house is the 1st house closest to the road & is separated from the main house by 15' or so. From inside either house, you cannot hear any noise from the highway, nor can you hear any road noise by the pool. There are neighbors on both sides, but the landscaping provides tons of privacy-the neighbors' houses are not visible from the property. The main house was big enough for all of us to share meals & hang out together,& 4 adults & 3 kids typically slept in the main house while the boys took over the guest house. The house was clean & ready for us upon our arrival. There were a few minor issues that required us to contact Jamie on Sunday (cable TV not working, bathroom door knob not working, ice machine out for repair, & no propane for the grill). Jamie made the trip down to the house on Tues to address these issues (door knob replaced, 2 full tanks of propane provided, she filled the freezer with bags of ice, & an appointment was made to have the cable guys come out on Thurs). She also left us with a very generous gift card to a local restaurant as a way of thanking us for our patience & for dealing with some of the inconveniences. We certainly appreciated her kind gesture & her efforts to make things right. The patio, pool, & tiki bar overlooking the ocean are picture perfect. The kids went back & forth between the pool & the ocean & were never bored. There was also plenty of room for the kids to play wiffle ball in the driveway on the side/front of the house. It was nice to have so many beach towels available to use during our stay - even with 12 people we never ran out. The mini-stereo (w/ AUX input for your iPod) was a really nice thing to have while sitting out by the pool/tiki bar. When looking for vacation rentals on-line, you are taking a bit of a risk, especially if you do not know the area. In the case of Jamie's beach house, the risk is very, very low. For our large group, the house was very comfortable & well furnished & it's beautiful surroundings, privacy, & perfect location made for a very memorable vacation. We hope to come back...

Amazing vacation! Look no further, this is the perfect house!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect vacation home! We were a large group (9 people) and everyone slept comfortably. The home is extremly private & the views are to die for! The ocean is your backyard! The pool was fantastic with a tiki bar too! There were kayaks & snorkel gear. The home itself was spacious, clean, well equipped kitchen & decorated beautifuly. It was close to great reataurants (Morada Bay & Lazy Days) and Marinas for boating! Highly recommend this home. Nobody wanted to leave! The owners were a pleasure to work with & security deposit was returned promptly. I don't know who would have anything to complain about. We would definitly return! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us...

A must see!

  • 5 of 5

This property is one of the most beautiful I've seen in the Keys! The house has views to die for! We especially loved swimming in the freshwater pool after a day out on the boat in the salt filled ocean! This house is very clean and comfortable inside and out with many amenities! Attached cottage is perfect for those extra guests! Owners were very helpful with any questions we had and willing to accommodate our needs! We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful Keys getaway!

A great place with a few issues

  • 4 of 5

The location and views are spectacular. The house is roomy and the guesthouse (aka loveshack) was comfortable. The only issues we had are when we first arrived. There must have been a wild spring break group the week before, because there was at least 12 bags of trash at the entrance once we found the place. (It is very hard to find in the dark even with a GPS and an address) In addition to the trash, we arrived after dark to several dark rooms and there were no lightbulbs and there was only one roll of toilet paper for 12 guests. Also there were no trashbags. This is all fine except when you pay 4500 per week you kind of expect it and it was frustrating after a long trip to try and find your way around a dark house that you have never been to and then have to go to the store to get basic supplies. The TV and stereo and DVD also had issues and every remote either needed batteries or did not work, hence we went to the store for batteries as well. They should be pretty stocked up on supplies now. The only other issues were the pool which was filthy and trashed due to the guests the week before and the beach which was covered in seaweed and trash. We spent the day cleaning up the beach( a rake on the property would have been nice), we used an oar for a shovel. The owners did send people on Tuesday and they cleaned up the property and pool. The dryer was also broken and made it difficult to keep up with towels for 12 people. The owners said someone would be coming on tuesday to fix the dryer but never saw anyone. We finally started using the knob from the washer to turn on the dryer and it worked fine. lol All in all it is a beautiful property and spacious for 12 people. The pool and views are wonderful. For the price and having stayed at other VRBO properties we were expecting at least the basic amenities and maybe a little extra. We would probablly stay here again because of the privacy and views and spaciousness of the house, but would talk to the owners prior to coming to make sure their housekeepers or property management had these issues taken care of, It is close to Bud and Marys, theatre of the sea and many other attractions and a short drive to Marathon or Key Largo.
