About the host
Hosted by Joe and Vanessa
Hi, I'm Joe. We have lived all over this country and traveled the world often staying in short term rentals. We know what we like and have high standards. As hosts, we care deeply about your experience, if its anything less than stellar, please let us know! V habla Espanol.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property in 2021 while it was still undergoing renovations. Immediately, we saw the potential. The stone-work, the arches inside, the overgrown stone benches out back, the creek... There is something about this property that makes it standout, it feels special. All we had to do was crack that open by providing ample high-end furnishings, and make it both a spacious, but cozy home capable of many uses.
Also it's location is in a highly sought after Scenic Loop/Babcock Road area of San Antonio.
The location is quite boastful. It is legitimately in true Hill Country borders, yet amazingly close to nearly all San Antonio has to offer:
Within 5 minutes:
-Old Town Helotes - a cute little town center that is a bit short of nice restaraunts, but has a great little beer garden, Wine 101, Busted Sandal Brewery tap room location, and a few smaller shops and bars.
Wedding venues and churches to include:
-Scenic Springs Wedding Venue
-La Escondida Celebration Center
-Gardens at Old Town Helotes
-Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church
-Helotes Independent Baptist Church
-First Baptist Church of Helotes
-Grace Church of Helotes
-Forest Hills Presbyterian Church
-The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
5-15 Minutes
-UTSA
-Palmer Golf Course at La Cantera
-La Cantera Resort and Spa
-Eilan Hotel and Spa
-Crown Ridge city park (great walking trails in the woods, no pets allowed)
-Friedrich Wilderness Park
-The Shops at La Cantera
-The Rim Shopping Center
-2x Targets, 2x Costco's, a few HEBs, and every other major retail and grocery store
-Six Flags Fiesta Texas
-Highways 1604 and I-10
~30 Minutes
-San Antonio International (solid 30 minutes)
-Downtown/Riverwalk/The Pearl District (our favorite spot downtown)
-Sea World
-Lackland Air Force Base
-Downtown Boerne
30+ minutes
-AT&T center (about 40 minutes)
-Brook Army Medical Center (give yourself a solid hour in the morning commute)

What makes this property unique
In addition to being a great place to spend the night, this property would be a phenomenal location for your:
-Church, corporate, or yoga retreat
-Friends or family reunion or couples retreat
-Bereavement lodging
-Bachelor/Bachelorette Party (please clearly inform us in advance)
-Birthday gatherings
-Vow renewal gathering
-Athletic-tourism group – we have phenomenal golf courses close-by, and the property is located on a prime road-cycling route
-Private dinner or wine-tasting event
Every booking has access to a 120” projector screen (roller type), projector, projector tri-pod, and up to 20 fold-out chairs.
The upstairs room can serve as a bedroom, or you can fold up the Murphy bed and use it for a small conference, meeting room, or host a small private cocktail hour up there. It has its own hallways and stairs on the first floor, with access to a half-bathroom also downstairs. You can access the stairs and half-bathroom without entering the kitchen or any of the bedrooms. This give this part of the house a more commercial-use feel.
There is also a wonderful outdoor dining room, underneath the balcony section. We have a small faux "greenery" wall, with ample seating for your group to dine al fresco.
There is also a covered stone, open-air pavilion in the backyard. It is entirely empty but you can use it for a small gathering outdoors, catering location, or storage for outdoor rental equipment/material such as tables and chairs. Should you have any rental equipment the company can deliver it and store in that pavilion when not in use over the week/weekend.
**Prior permission and coordination required if you want to do anything beyond stay/sleep**
