Host/ Property manager HORRIBLE!

The property is great. Host is TERRIBLE. Made inappropriate comments about the owners he works for and other people. Host ended our reservation 18 hrs before it was done. Changed our reservation repeatedly after we left and kept trying to charge us different amounts. This Host and property management company should not be in business. When he decided he didn't like us he became threatening and aggressive.

The guest is being untruthful. If this happened why did she rent our other property for the next month. She guest left the house a mess. Never cleaned or did laundry and still owes for utility overages. I would never rent to her again.

Wonderful

This property truly felt like our home away from home! It is spacious, has a great floor plan, and we found everything very comfortable. The back yard is an oasis with plenty of seating, a relaxing water feature and a lemon tree! The kitchen is generously equipped and the double oven was an added bonus. We made GREAT use of the golf cart, and were extremely grateful it was included with this rental. Joe and Laura were very quick to respond when issues arose and resolved the problems efficiently. A few minor details prevent us from giving this property a five-star rating. When we arrived, there was no hand soap anywhere in the house, and no Kleenex. There wasn't even a "starter" amount of trash bags, laundry soap, dryer sheets or dishwasher pods. Providing these basic supplies would have given the rental a much more welcoming, hospitable vibe. The other thing was the extra amount that we had to pay for the gas utility. The lease agreement clearly states how much the rental includes for gas, and we knew that for that amount, heating the pool was completely out of the question. Therefore when we were notified that we owed more for gas, we were dismayed that the threshold amount didn't provide for normal heating of the home and hot water usage. All things considered, we found this to be a great property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Unscrupulous property managers!!

The home is very nice, but it was not worth the hell we went through because of the property managers Laura and Joe Curlin. We have never dealt with a company/persons that were so shady and dishonest. We just want to help the next person not make the mistakes we did. #1 Get everything in writing. Laura ( the L of L&J property management) and I were corresponding via email regarding certain details of our stay, when I asked about any additional fees I.E. Pool costs, electricity charges, She said “call me”. Red flag! The prices she gave me over the phone were raised by Joe Curlin on check in day. No recourse through VRBO because we had no paper trail. #2 Don’t complain to VRBO about hosts until after you leave ( I know… Dah!) Laura and Joe kicked our family out one day early on New Year’s Eve (with no penalty from VRBO) because we had complained about them. We are still trying to get our money back for the one night. #3 Trust the prior reviews. We saw the last review from Samantha O. about how Joe Curlin “became threatening and aggressive,” we thought how bad can it be, the place is really nice. On our forced early check out day, we were just about finished with cleaning the home when Joe Curlin opened our door at 9:00 A.M and said “Get the hell out!” I lied “I’m not dressed!” He yelled out “you got 5 minutes!” We left minutes later terrified, truly terrified. #4 Take pictures of everything when you leave. L&J property management will find excuses not to give you your money back. We continue to fight the added charges via our credit card company. Final note: There are so many more reputable property managers/ hosts out there. Trust the reviews & stay clear of L&J Property management. Take care fellow VRBO’ers. We wish you fun & SAFE travels.

I am sorry they feel that way, I can tell you that you cannot please certain people, as they cannot be pleased. I communicated with them through VRBO site on the fees to heat the pool. They signed a lease stating the extra charges on utilities and the departure time. I did adjust their stay as there was a conflict with someone coming in that day, and they were given notice of this adjustment. Their departure time was 9:00 a.m. as stated in their lease and we had cleaning there at 9:30 a.m. and the renter was not close to leaving. When you rent from us we want you to enjoy your vacation. These renters from day one complained about everything, they refused to pay their deposit, which was a red flag. We never once raised our voice to them, and gave them the extra time to depart the premises. They went to VRBO with lies, and VRBO cited with us because the communications were through the site and they concluded that they were not being truthful. People feel that they can hurt someone's business because they are just miserable people in their life and want the same for everyone else. I have 20 properties I manage and all my reviews are awesome! I am sorry that they feel the need to not tell the truth and put lies on here to make themselves feel better. From the first day they arrived they stated they really could not afford to stay there, and that was a red flag. They trashed the house, for 30 days they never did laundry or cleaned up after themselves. They left trash all over and two 50 gallon recycle bins full of beer bottles and wine bottles. They used the house as a party house, and this is in a 45 and up community. We had a few complaints during their stay from the neighbors. I would not rent to them ever again.
