About Joy Hall
My husband and I fell in love with the Western North Carolina Mountains over 10 years ago. We hoped to one day retire and build a log cabin in this area. In 2004, Hurricane Katrina devestated our town and we were out of our house for months. It was then, we decided to start building our DREAM cabin. The cabin is now a 'safe haven' for us from hurricanes!! We have put much time, effort and love into building our dream and now would like to share it with you.
Joy Hall purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Joy Hall chose Forneys Creek
My husband and I enjoy being outdoors. We first came to this area to go mountain biking at Tsali. Once we realized how many endless things there were to do in this area or within a short drive, we knew we wanted to build our log cabin here. This is the perfect family destination and we look forward to making memories here with our 2 young children.
What makes this Cabin unique
There are numberous quaint little towns surrounding Bryson City- Cherokee, Franklin, Cashiers, Highlands, Dillsboro, Sylva and Ashville. We have really enjoyed exploring each town and getting to know the local people.

Property was great House was beautiful and well stocked View was even more fantastic than the pictures The road up was winding and a little scary for folks not used to the mountains
Very nice house, very confortable, super clean, ready to enjoy. Wish i could stay more days!!
Gorgeous views and secluded area.
Beautiful home and great location, convenient to everything you could want to do. Great family trip. We will be back!!
Gorgeous place. We had a great time. Thank you
Excellent views, kid friendly
This cabin has outstanding views of the mountains from the enclosed porch on main floor with ample space and seating. There were toys available and children's books for our small children making our packing even lighter. The road to cabin from the paved main road is gravel and has two steeper turns during the climb up to the cabin with did fine with front wheel drive car and front wheel drive light SUV with driving slow during our summer visit. I feel 4 wheel drive would be needed during winter weather. Would stay again!
Our family completely enjoyed our time in this lovely spot! The cabin is exactly as it appears in the pictures. Everything you need is there and in good working condition. It was lovely to arrive and have all the necessary amenities there and ready to go. This is a great location, close to lots of fun things to do and see. The view is stunning. Sitting on the deck was just an awesome way to start and end the day. The owners are easy to work with, we can't wait to plan another visit.
White water rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, Trout Fishing, Snow Skiing, Fontana Lake, Zip through the forest with Canopy Zip Line Tours, Train rides on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Visit the Museum of the Cherokee Indians or the authentic Oconaluftee Indian Village, Tribal Bingo and Harrah's Casino are also located in Cherokee, all above activiteis within 30 minutes of the cabin. Historic Asheville and the Biltmore House and Gardens are only 1 hour away via a four lane highway, Gatlinburg, TN, is only 1 hour away throught the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
