After retiring from a 33 year career in sales management/ marketing, we visited our eldest daughter Etta and fell in love with Asheville. We moved to the Asheville Area in 2002 and lived in the house that became our first rental, “Our House.” Soon to follow, came our youngest daughter, Farris, and her now husband Danny. In 2009 their daughter Aylssa arrived, making this a true family business.
Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2009
We fell in love with Asheville and all it has to offer. We then decided to share the beauty of the Asheville Area and the hospitality of the Smokey Mountains with others. “Our House” and “My Roundette” were on the property when we originally bought it. Both have since been remodeled. We then purchased additional land and built “My Place,” “The Huntley,” and “The Garden Cabin.” “Log Gap” and “Prayer Ridge” were both bought at separate locations. Both were extensively remodeled.
The benefit of staying at “The Cove at Fairview” is the unique experience. Each home offers you a different experience in small ways – outdoor fireplaces, swinging beds, and a fifty mile view are just a few. Also, enjoy waterfalls, Koi Ponds, Lotus Flowers, horses, chickens (enjoy fresh eggs), native plants, & flower gardens.
By staying here, you are nestled into all of the beautiful natural settings in this peaceful cove.
While being very private and close to nature, you are still afforded all of the conveniences of technology and are located near all this area has to offer. Truly a place to come and renew yourself. Kick back, relax, and have a true retreat or a wonderful place to land after an exhausting day of fun.
We really enjoyed our stay here at the cozy cabin. Thank you for the fresh bread and eggs.
We loved this. We were close enough to Asheville to take a taxi into town while being able enjoy the ambience of the country with majestic views. Frank, the owner, was very helpful with directions and things to do. He even set up our horseback riding while we were enjoying our food tour.
I booked "My Place" for my sisters bachelorette and it was absolutely perfect! It was a quick and easy drive to down town and all the girls loved that we had robes available! It was a great stay and I would definitely book again!
This was the perfect spot to stay. The house has a great layout for couples. Close to downtown Asheville ,Lake Lure, Biltmore and ziplining. House comforts were first class and the welcoming fresh eggs and bread a delight. The owner was very helpful in all requests.
The local restaurants are a good choice, especially if you have allergies- gluten, celiacs, etc.
I would recommend this home ( it felt like home) to anymore who wants to visit the area. We hope to return in the near future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our girl's weekend at My Place. We enjoyed walking around the property and the house was great for a large group. It came stocked with everything we would need for the weekend (including coffee and amazing eggs!). Frank was extremely informative and we instantly felt at home. We can't wait to plan our next trip to Asheville!
Positives: When we arrived, we were greeted by owner. He was very nice and very informative about the house and things to do in the area. Lots of information was in the house via brochures, and binders of information. Game room was nice for everyone. This certainly kept the kids entertained. The house was very spacious and the lay out was nice. We had plenty of space for 2 families to vacation together. Nice size kitchen that was very accommodating.
Negatives: The cookware in kitchen was not made well...everything stuck when cooking. The downstairs bedrooms has cobwebs all over the walls, which we did not notice until we went to lay down and had certain light shining in room. There were ants and spiders everywhere we turned. We could not go to the bathroom without the ants trying to crawl on our feet. I understand being in the wood will attract bugs but this was a lot. Could use a good exterminator. The Jacuzzi was not clean. This was one of the things we looked forward to using and why we booked this particular house to begin with. We addressed this with owner on day 2. When we had come back from our daily activities, it appeared as though he had been there but the Jacuzzi was still very dirty...lots of dirt and what appeared to be dead skin.
We stayed at "My Place" for a whole week while visiting Asheville for a Family Reunion. The cabin was beautiful! We so enjoyed the fresh-baked bread on our arrival, the fresh eggs, and the outdoor terrace area. We spent every morning and evening visiting on the terrace. We had an almost-2-year old with us, so we really appreciated the safety gate that was provided, and the washer and dryer. We enjoyed the game room also! Frank gave us so much information about places to visit and places to eat. He was so helpful! I have recommended this place to many people already. If we ever come back again, we would love to stay there again!!
