About Owner/Manager

After retiring from a 33 year career in sales management/ marketing, we visited our oldest daughter Etta and fell in love with Asheville. We moved to the Asheville Area in 2002 and lived in the house that became our first rental, “Our House.” (We built a cabin on the property and moved into it). Soon to follow, came our youngest daughter, Farris, and her now husband Danny. In 2009 their daughter Alyssa arrived and in 2015 Haley was born, making this a true family business.

Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2009

Why Owner/Manager chose Fairview

We fell in love with Asheville and all it has to offer. We then decided to share the beauty of the Asheville Area and the hospitality of the Smokey Mountains with others. “Our House” and “My Roundette” were on the property when we originally bought it. Both have since been remodeled. We then purchased additional land and built “My Place,” “The Huntley,” and “The Garden Cabin.” “Log Gap” and “Prayer Ridge” were both bought at separate, more remote locations. Both were extensively remodeled.

What makes this house unique

The benefit of staying at “The Cove at Fairview” is the unique experience. Each home offers you a different experience in small ways – outdoor fireplaces, swinging beds, and a fifty mile view are just a few. Also, enjoy waterfalls, Koi Ponds, a Lotus Pond, horses, chickens (enjoy fresh eggs), donkeys, goats, native plants, & flower gardens.

By staying here, you are nestled into all of the beautiful natural settings in this peaceful cove.

While being very private and close to nature, you are still afforded all of the conveniences of technology and are located near all this area has to offer. Truly a place to come and renew yourself. Kick back, relax, and have a true retreat or a wonderful place to land after an exhausting day of fun (downtown is only 15 minutes away).

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Frank,

We really enjoyed our stay here at the cozy cabin. Thank you for the fresh bread and eggs.

A fantastic Mountain Home with plenty of Room for everybody

  • 5 of 5

Our host Frank was unbelievable he met us at the home when we arrived and gave us the grand tour. He also set up horseback riding with a very very nice lady named Amy. The home is beautiful And spotlessly clean. There was plenty of Room to spread out for my entire family and the kids loved the game Room upstairs and the hot tub out back. We will certainly be back in the summer to enjoy some river rafting. I will only stay in the Asheville area at this property.

Top-notch

  • 5 of 5

We stay VRBO almost every time on vacation and this one was definitely one of our favorites. The owner is great and helps with anything you need including having fresh eggs, fresh bread, and honey waiting on you. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat. Close to downtown, close to the Biltmore, and Chimney Rock.

Great property with a great host

  • 5 of 5

"My Place" at Fairview Cove met and exceeded our expectations for the holiday. Asheville was just as accessible as promised (a quick 12-15 minutes) - but the cabin's mountainside location gave us plenty of seclusion from the holiday crowds. The foosball table, pool table and hot tub - along with our host's gifts of eggs and fresh bread - rounded out a great visit - thanks!

Amazing stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at "My Place." While I did not get to meet Frank, my sister raved at the wonderful tour he gave and the historical touches throughout the property. You can tell that Frank has thought about every need that you may have. It felt like a wonderful home away from home. The only difficulty was the very steep driveway, so when renting a car, go with 4WD. We will definitely be back to experience the wonderful winter views and the comfortable accommodations.

Fabulous family gathering at The Cove Fairview

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely place to stay while we were in the Asheville area for a family wedding. Our extended family had 3 of the homes at the Cove (including the Prayer Ridge house) My Place was excellent for our family of 6. Our children are all in their 20s and the games room was a great place for chilling out at the end of each day. It really felt like home - not just another hotel/motel. Frank was a great host and really helpful providing advice on local things to do and see.

Fantastic stay!

My weekend getaway with the girls was absolutely wonderful thanks to this beautiful home and welcoming accommodations provided by the host. Everything was in perfect order and as stated online, if not better, and the drive to Asheville was a breeze. I would definitely visit again in the future.
