About this property
Casa Rochelle - Scicli, Private home in San Bartolomeo
Welcome to my tranquil stone home in San Bartolomeo, an enchanting ancient quarter of Scicli. Casa Rochelle is located just past it's iconic Baroque church. The convenient location is a brief walk to the historical centre of Scicli. Strolling everywhere to drink in the beauty of this Baroque gem and gastronomic paradise, filled with incredible tastes of traditional and contemporary Sicilian cuisine.
The house has been lovingly restored with a natural stone floor throughout. The entire space has been curated for a relaxing, comfortable stay for a couple, small family or solo guest, open to enjoy all year round.
Intimate yet spacious, the open-concept living and bedroom area has a comfy queen bed, a large lounging divan convertible for sleeping, a personal writing desk, even room for yoga and meditation. The side balcony faces a charming private garden with apricot and myrtle trees, and offers a skyward view of the crowned hilltop Santa Maria Della Croce. The spacious terrace is south facing towards the hilltop of San Matteo and the home of the archeological park. This area is the famous Chiafura, the stone caves that for centuries, were inhabited by local people up to the 1950s.
Inside, the luxurious spa inspired ceramic bathroom features a relaxing rainfall shower and smooth river stone floor. It is well stocked for your comfort with added small luxuries, with ample space for your personal items, and stocked with cozy towels.
For guests who prefer the option to eat at home as well as restaurant dining, the well-appointed kitchen is tastefully equipped to suit your needs. Cooking in Scicli is an absolute pleasure and local markets are abundant. Choose to enjoy meals either inside at the elegant dining area, or outdoors on the terrazzo with it’s splendid views.
